Abstract

Developing local resources into high-value products is an important strategy in improving the economic welfare of rural communities. This study focuses on the transformation of local potential in Balongwono Village, such as the abundant melon harvest that can be processed into melon jam, pickled melon, banana stems into banana stem chips, and spinach into spinach chips. Considering that so far there are many local resources that have not been utilized properly to become products with sales value, in addition, the community still markets their products traditionally. The methods used are lectures through seminars and mentoring of MSMEs and PKK mothers to improve understanding and skills in marketing local products digitally. as well as mentoring the creation of social media accounts. In addition, an evaluation using a questionnaire was conducted regarding the understanding of the transformation of local products into products with sales value. The method used was a lecture combined with evaluation through pretest and posttest to assess the program's effectiveness. Results show a significant increase in the average score of participants from 72.33% before the seminar to 93% after the seminar, indicating the program's success in enhancing the capacity of local entrepreneurs. These findings suggest that community service activities serve as a strategic solution to strengthen the competitiveness of local products and community economic independence.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in strengthening their business branding through the use of Google Maps and banners as local promotional media. The program was conducted in Bakalan Village, Sumobito District, Jombang Regency, involving two MSME partners, namely Rumah Laundry and Margo Roso Bakery. These two partners were selected because they had different needs in strengthening their business identity. Rumah Laundry did not yet have a clear visual identity and business profile, while Margo Roso Bakery already had a Google Maps account but still needed support in optimizing business information and strengthening offline branding. The program used a participatory approach through several stages, including field surveys, identification of partner needs, branding concept planning, assistance in managing business information, banner design and installation, Google Maps optimization, and evaluation. The results showed that this assistance helped the partners develop a clearer business identity, more attractive promotional media, and more accessible business information for the local community. The program also improved MSME owners’ understanding of the importance of consistent business identity in supporting local marketing. Therefore, branding assistance through Google Maps and banners can serve as a simple, practical, and relevant strategy to increase MSME visibility at the village level.

Abstract

Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Pekalongan faces challenges in financial management and reporting because recording is still done manually and unsystematically. This results in inaccurate financial data, poorly documented, and difficult to account for to relevant parties. This community service activity aims to assist the boarding school administrators in implementing a clearer and more accountable financial recording system, in accordance with the Islamic Boarding School Accounting Guidelines. Implementation is carried out through preparation, implementation, and evaluation steps using techniques such as observation, interviews, discussions, and direct mentoring of the boarding school administrators and treasurers. The results of this activity show positive progress such as the use of cash books and spreadsheets to record cash receipts and disbursements, summaries of student Islamic payments, and more organized management of transaction documents. Compiling financial recapitulations and Islamic payment data in digital format makes it easier for administrators to monitor cash flow, recognize student payments, and prepare simple financial reports. However, implementation is still in its early stages because the financial position report, activity report, cash flow report, and financial statement notes have not been fully implemented. Some of the main obstacles encountered included limited computer skills among administrators, incomplete historical transaction data, and a lack of division of tasks within internal oversight. Therefore, while this mentoring program has been successful in improving administrative order and financial transparency at the Islamic boarding school, further strengthening of human resource capacity and comprehensive accounting system improvements are needed.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in economic growth; however, many MSMEs still face challenges in financial management, particularly in maintaining systematic financial records and preparing simple financial reports. Low levels of financial literacy often result in poor financial decision-making and the mixing of personal and business finances. This community service program aimed to foster a culture of financial discipline through mentoring in the preparation of practical financial reports for Warung Sarapan Mba Yati. Unlike previous programs that primarily focused on short-term bookkeeping training, this activity integrated practical financial reporting templates with intensive mentoring tailored to the MSME’s daily business transactions. The program was conducted over three weeks and involved three participants consisting of the business owner and family members involved. The implementation stages included observation, socialization, training, hands-on practice, mentoring, and evaluation. Program effectiveness was assessed using pre-test and post-test evaluations, direct observation, and assessment of participants’ financial recording outputs. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ financial management competencies, with the average score increasing from 32.5% before the program to 89.5% after mentoring. Participants were able to independently prepare daily cash records, classify income and expenses, and produce a simple income statement showing a monthly net profit of IDR 4,250,000. Furthermore, participants began consistently separating personal and business finances and implementing routine transaction recording practices. These findings indicate that the mentoring program effectively improved bookkeeping skills and promoted a sustainable culture of financial discipline, thereby supporting better business management and long-term MSME sustainability.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a maritime nation, has a long coastline and vast waters with abundant marine resource potential. This potential includes capture fisheries, aquaculture, and various economically valuable marine biota scattered throughout coastal areas, including Temajuk Village, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan. However, this vast marine resource potential has not been optimally utilized to improve community welfare. This study aims to analyze community empowerment strategies based on local potential through the development of creative economic products processed from marine products and their implications for improving community welfare. The study used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data used consisted of primary and secondary data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that community empowerment based on local potential can encourage improvements in the welfare of coastal communities. Innovation in processing jellyfish into creative products such as satay and pecel provides added economic value by increasing the selling price of raw materials by up to 70%, reducing dependence on middlemen, increasing the average income of business actors by 40%, and strengthening the culinary identity of Temajuk Village in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the suboptimal human resource capacity of the Asri Gilingan Surakarta Mandiri Women Farmers Group in utilizing appropriate technology to support a circular economy and household waste processing. The main problems of partners include limited knowledge in utilizing yards, low skills in processing organic waste into compost or ready-to-sell planting media, and the lack of a sustainable group activity management system. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge, skills, and independence of KWT Mandiri Asri members in applying appropriate technology based on local potential to support a circular economy and reduce household waste. The implementation method is carried out through a participatory-educational approach that includes identifying partner needs, appropriate technology training, direct practice of processing ready-to-sell organic waste, utilizing yards for food crops, group discussions, and mentoring in implementing training results. The results of the activity through pre-tests and post-tests showed an increase in understanding of appropriate technology to process waste into ready-to-sell products from 36% to 54%, the ability to sort waste from 32% to 64%, and the ability to record simple things from 24% to 56%. Furthermore, this activity encourages increased member participation in environmental management and strengthens group institutions. In conclusion, strengthening human resource capacity through appropriate technology can positively contribute to improving the skills of KWT Mandiri Asri members, managing household waste, and strengthening the community-based circular economy. Sustainability of this activity requires continued mentoring so that the practices learned can be consistently implemented and developed into a model for empowering productive, independent, and environmentally friendly urban women.
