Abstract

The educational seminar conducted by KKM Group 57 at SDN 1 Mekarsari, Rangkasbitung District, was part of a community service program aimed at improving students' understanding of the importance of active, creative, and disciplined learning. This activity was motivated by low student learning motivation, both intrinsic and extrinsic. Students tended to be less enthusiastic, rarely asked questions, and were inactive in classroom learning activities. This seminar was designed as an educational effort to introduce effective and enjoyable learning strategies. The implementation method included interactive material delivery, a question-and-answer session, and the distribution of worksheets to encourage active participation. The activity was carried out face-to-face with the support of a teacher as an additional facilitator. The implementation results showed an increase in student enthusiasm and courage in expressing opinions, as well as a growing interest in a more dynamic learning process. Teachers also gained new insights to develop more engaging learning methods. This activity is expected to become a model of community service that can be replicated in elementary schools in rural areas, to strengthen the synergy between students, educators, and the community in improving the quality of basic education.

Abstract

Jari Village is a village in Gondang District, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, which has two geosite sites. Both geosites have the potential to be developed into geotourism sites that can boost the economy of the surrounding community. However, their utilization has not been maximized due to low public awareness of the tourism economy. Through this Community Service Program (KKN) activity, Unigoro students encourage the community to have a greater sense of ownership of the earth heritage sites in their village. The KKN students plan to install geosite location signs to facilitate and complete the infrastructure for directions to the geosite location as an initial step in developing geotourism. The activity was carried out in Jari Village on August 31-7, 2025 through four stages: (1) survey of installation points, (2) preparation of tools and materials, (3) making and painting the boards, and (4) the installation process. The geosite location signboards are made of wood. Students utilize unused wood waste from one of the wood craftsmen in Jari Village to make geosite location signboards, thus supporting the concept of sustainability. The results of the activity show that the installation of signboards facilitates accessibility for the community and visitors to the geosite location while increasing public awareness of the village's geotourism potential. This activity is expected to be the first step in developing conservation-based tourism and encourage improvements to supporting infrastructure in the future.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance elementary school teachers' capacity in developing and implementing culturally based children's stories as literacy media in the classroom. The background of this activity lies in the lack of contextual reading materials relevant to students’ cultural environment, particularly in IV Koto District, Agam Regency. The method consisted of training sessions, story development workshops, classroom implementation, and evaluation. Results showed a significant improvement in teachers’ ability to write and integrate local stories into thematic learning, alongside increased student enthusiasm for Minangkabau cultural narratives. The project produced 60 local children’s stories and integrated lesson plans. This program demonstrates that local-culture-based literacy strengthens students’ cultural identity and supports meaningful learning. The approach is recommended for replication in other regions with rich cultural heritage.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Sucopangepok Village, Jember Regency, has not met the Minimum Service Standard target, partly due to misconceptions about breastfeeding. This community service program aimed to raise awareness of the importance of exclusive breastfeeding among mothers of under-five children. The activity involved 15 participants and was carried out through lectures and emotional demonstrations (emo demo) of breastfeeding and infant stomach capacity using games and hands-on practice. Evaluation was conducted using pretest–posttest, observation, and discussion. Results showed significant improvements in knowledge, with average scores increasing from 64.2% to 84.7% and the proportion of good knowledge rising from 26.7% to 80%. Proper breastfeeding skills improved from 60% to 93.3%, while 93.3% of participants could explain infant stomach capacity using props. Most participants also reported the program as beneficial. In conclusion, this activity effectively promoted exclusive breastfeeding and may support efforts to prevent child malnutrition.

Abstract

One of the flagship programs of Sridadi Village is the senior School. The "Matahari" senior School in Sridadi Sirampog Village was established in 2022 as a concern of the Department of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning (DP3KB) of Brebes Regency through a curriculum of resilient senior dimensions including spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, social, professional and vocational, and environmental dimensions. In practice, the management and administration of the senior School is still felt to be lacking due to the limited knowledge of administrators in managing schools, especially non-formal educational institutions. Therefore, training is needed on the management of the Matahari senior School. The purpose of this training is to improve the skills of the Matahari senior School administrators in school management so that services to students are better. This training activity uses a participatory approach by combining several methods of lectures, case studies, and questions and answers. The result of this training is an increase in the knowledge of the Matahari senior School administrators in non-formal school management, which has an impact on the learning process at the school.

Abstract

Digitalization has become a crucial need in the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially in improving market access and business legality. In Olean Village, Situbondo Regency, most MSME actors lack digital skills and formal legal documents such as Business Identification Numbers (NIB) and halal certification. This community service aimed to enhance online business management skills through training on social media utilization, Google Maps registration, and SWOT analysis. The method involved needs assessment, coordination with local authorities, offline training, and two weeks of online mentoring. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ digital skills and the formation of the "UMKM Digital Olean" community as a platform for collaboration and sharing best practices. This program demonstrates that a community-based approach is effective in empowering MSMEs sustainably in rural areas.

Abstract

The increasingly advanced urban growth makes cities increasingly dense. The availability of facilities and infrastructure is greatly needed by the community. Land is often converted to housing, offices, shopping centers, toll roads and other facilities. This impacts the environment, health, the economy and food production. Meruya Selatan sub-district, with its fairly dense population, has seen much land converted to housing, apartments, office buildings, malls, and toll roads that form part of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR), resulting in a lack of green spaces and limited land for planting. By using a hydroponic system, planting can be done without using soil. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge and skills to the women of the PKK Meruya Selatan group to easily grow vegetables through a hydroponic system and to be able to practice hydroponic vegetable cultivation. The implementation method is a training method with lectures and practical methods. The results of the activity received a positive response from participants, and hydroponic vegetables planted using the DFT system grew well until harvest.
