Abstract

Batam City, as one of Indonesia's industrial centers, faces significant challenges in waste management. It is estimated that more than 1,200 tons of waste are produced daily, of which approximately 60% is organic waste that has the potential to be processed into value-added products. Unfortunately, most of this waste ends up in the Telaga Punggur Landfill, which is now nearing maximum capacity. To address this issue, the Community Service program introduced the use of eco-enzymes as a practical and environmentally friendly solution for household waste management and ecosystem balance. Eco-enzymes are multipurpose liquids produced by fermenting household waste (vegetable and fruit scraps) that can be used as liquid fertilizer, floor cleaner, and other products. The manufacturing process uses a mixture of coconut water, molasses, and EM4 as a booster. With this medium, the fermentation time can be shortened to 15 days, compared to using only plain water and molasses, which takes 3 months. This community service activity was carried out in partnership with the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) women of the Batara Raya Housing Complex, Belian Village, Batam, with a focus on outreach, training, and practice. It is hoped that this initiative will reduce the burden on landfills and build collective awareness for responsible waste management and maintaining ecosystem balance. Through sustainable implementation, Batam City is expected to become green, clean, and sustainable.

Abstract

Jari Village, located in Gondang Subdistrict, Bojonegoro Regency, possesses significant geotourism potential through the presence of the Selo Gajah and Banyu Wedang Geosites. However, this potential has not yet been fully optimized. The Thematic Collaborative Community Service Program (KKN-TK) Group 06 of Bojonegoro University was conducted with the aim of enhancing tourism appeal through the creation of an informative and educational promotional video. The video production process consisted of three main stages-pre-production, production, and post-production-which included idea planning, filming, and final editing. The result was a two-minute video showcasing the natural beauty, geological uniqueness, and educational value of the geosites. The distribution strategy utilized social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, along with collaborations with various stakeholders to expand promotional reach. This initiative proved effective in increasing the visibility of Jari Village as a geotourism destination while supporting efforts in geosite conservation and sustainable management.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance digital literacy and equip Karang Taruna administrators with adequate digital literacy, information verification skills, and the ability to utilize data science technology to prevent the spread of hoaxes, particularly those based on deepfake technology. The main problems faced by the partner include the low level of education, limited understanding of digital literacy, and lack of skills in using fake information detection technology. The methods applied consist of designing a data science-based hoax detection system (Verifia.ID), providing supporting infrastructure, conducting digital literacy outreach, training on system usage, and evaluating program effectiveness. The results show an increase in participants’ understanding of deepfake hoaxes, improved skills in information verification, and the ability to independently operate the hoax detection application. Thus, this program not only provides solutions to low digital literacy but also supports the creation of a healthier, more critical, and sustainable information ecosystem in rural communities.

Abstract

Handwashing with Soap (CTPS) is a government priority program to promote healthy living awareness, as regulated in Ministry of Health Regulation No. 3 of 2014 and Law No. 36 of 2009. However, public awareness of CTPS in Indonesia remains relatively low. This community service activity was carried out in collaboration with the Family Hope Program (PPKH) facilitators in Banjarmasin, targeting beneficiary families (KPM) living in densely populated areas with a high risk of disease transmission. The main issue identified was the lack of knowledge and skills in practicing proper handwashing. The solution provided was health education on CTPS using digital flipchart media. The activity was held on July 29, 2025, with 32 participants. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding, skills, and awareness of the six proper handwashing steps according to health standards. This program effectively encouraged the habit of practicing clean and healthy living behaviors among social assistance beneficiaries.

Abstract

Soil-transmitted helminth infections remain a health problem among elementary school children in Indonesia because they lead to poor nutrition, reduced concentration in class, and lower productivity in the future. Prevention can be achieved through education on clean and healthy living habits, such as washing hands, keeping nails clean, wearing footwear, and regularly taking deworming medication as recommended. The community service activity carried out at SDN 019 Sungai Kunjang, Samarinda, East Kalimantan, aimed to increase students' knowledge about worm prevention. The implementation methods included recording student attendance, pre-tests, showing educational videos on worm infections, distributing leaflets, teaching students how to wash their hands with soap, and post-tests to measure student understanding. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' knowledge about worm prevention, as indicated by an increase in pre-test scores from 56.45 to 83.54 on the post-test.
