Abstract

This research aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Elsa Speak application as a learning media to improve students’ English-speaking skills in the extra class at MA Al-Bairuny. The research used a quasi-experimental design with two groups: an experimental group taught using the AI-based Elsa Speak application, and a control group taught without the application. The research began with a pre-test to assess students’ speaking abilities. The average pre-test score of the experimental group was 57.33, while the control group had an average of 61.67. During the treatment, the experimental group practiced speaking using Elsa Speak, which offers features such as pronunciation analysis and instant feedback. The control group continued learning through traditional methods without the application. After the treatment, a post-test was conducted. The experimental group showed significant improvement with an average score of 70.00, increasing by 12.67 points. Meanwhile, the control group showed only slight progress, with an average post-test score of 62.33, an increase of just 0.67 points. The results indicate that Elsa Speak is effective in improving students’ pronunciation, fluency, and confidence. This research highlights the potential of AI-based technology to enhance the quality of English language education in the digital era.

Abstract

Mathematics is an important assistant tool used by other disciplines to obtain quantitative result in the problem-solving process. The optimum problem is one of the exciting problems that will be the object of our discussion in this article. The main idea of this article is to show how Substitution and Lagrange multiplier methods can solve a constrained optimization problem in economics. In this article, author will study and show how far and easy to solve economic optimum problems using mathematical formulas. Then, with an example of daily problem in economics, the author hopes that it will provide an overview for economic practitioners about how potential mathematical concepts can help them. And it will also be understood that how important it is, to approach and simplify a real-world problem in economics with a mathematical model so that mathematical formulas can be applied to appropriately solve economic problems with the best or optimal results. And eventually, it will also show us that economics in fact are increasingly mathematical.

Abstract

This research focuses in reading comprehension of narrative text by using comic strips for the ninth grade students. This research aims to describe the implementation of comic strips to improve the ninth grade students’ reading comprehension at MTs Miftahul Ulum Melirang. The result of this research shows that there are two cycles with two meetings in every cycle. In the first cycle, 12 students pass the passing grades with percentages 48%. Therefore, the first cycle is still low to become successful. In the second cycle, 84% or 21 total students achieves the passing grade. Moreover, most of the students in the second cycle pass the passing grade, so this research is categorized successful. It indicates that comic strip is the effective media to improve students reading comprehension for the ninth grade students of MTs Miftahul Ulum Melirang

Abstract

This study aims to (1) Determine the development of E-comic media on the subject of Aqidah Akhlaq for class X. (2) To determine the results of student learning on E-comic media on the subject of Aqidah Akhlak for class X. The method used in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) research method, which was developed using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation)  model. The resulting product is validated by media experts and material experts, to determine the feasibility of the learning media before being tested. The results of this study obtained a score of 92% in material validation and 91% in media validation, which means that this learning media is categorized as "very feasible" to be tested. Student learning outcomes are assessed using the assessment report result which produce a score of 90% anad student response result of 92% with the category "very interesting". Thus, the E-comic learning media in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak class X, is categorized as very feasible to be used in learning and students are very interested in using it

Abstract

This study aims to describe the difference in student learning outcomes using the numbered head together (NHT) learning model and the problem based learning model. the type of research used is quasi experiment research with non-equivalent control group design using a quantitative approach. The research was carried out at State Vocational High School 1 Kediri Building Modeling and Information Design Expertise Program and took place in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 school year. The sampling technique used for this study was with a purposive sampling technique of 36 students as an experimental group and 33 students as a control group. The instrument used in this study is a test of 20 multiple-choice questions in measuring student learning outcomes. The data analysis technique in the study used a different test (t-test). The results of the study showed a significant difference in student learning outcomes using the Numbered Heads Together model (0.000) compared to the Problem-Based Learning model. The NHT model prioritizes collaboration and active participation, which has been proven to improve student learning outcomes. The NHT model prioritizes collaboration and active participation, proven to improve student understanding. This is shown by the interaction between students can strengthen their understanding through explaining to each other. In addition, the NHT model also encourages students to be more confident in expressing their opinions. Thus, the results of this study confirm the interactive and collaborative NHT model in improving student learning outcomes in the future.

Abstract

The low level of science literacy among junior high school students indicates the need for contextual and meaningful learning. Therefore, this research aims to determine the effect of Etno-STEM-based science learning on Sidoarjo's typical foods on junior high school students' science literacy. This research used a one-group pretest-posttest design with purposive sampling. The subjects of this study were 20 eighth-grade students at a junior high school in Sidoarjo Regency. The research instrument consisted of 15 multiple-choice questions based on three indicators of science literacy, namely explaining phenomena scientifically, evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and interpreting data and evidence scientifically. The pretest and posttest data were analyzed using the N-Gain test and paired t-test to determine the level of improvement and the significance of the difference in students' science literacy skills. The N-Gain analysis showed a value of 0.89 for the indicator of explaining phenomena scientifically, 0.79 for the indicator of evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and 0.78 for the indicator of interpreting data and evidence scientifically. All three values were in the high category, indicating an improvement in students' science literacy skills. These findings were reinforced by the results of the paired t-test, which showed a significance value of < 0.05, so it can be concluded that Etno-STEM-based science learning using Sidoarjo's typical foods had a significant effect on students' science literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of E-LKPD based on a constructivist approach to the dynamic electricity material for Phase F students. This study is a type of R&D (Research and Development) research with a 4D Development Model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). This study has research limitations where researchers only carry out 3 stages without the disseminate stage due to limited time and energy. This study uses trial subjects, namely validators (validating the product) and students (product response test). The validators are carried out by two lecturers and 1 teacher who act as media experts and material experts. The product response test to assess the readability of the product was carried out by 20 students of grade XI of SMA Negeri Mojoagung Jombang. The research instruments used are: a) media expert validation sheet, b) material expert validation sheet, and c) student response questionnaire. The validation results from media experts show that the feasibility level is very feasible with an average percentage of 84%. Validation by material experts gives a feasibility value of 71%, which means it is suitable for use. Student responses to the E-LKPD were very positive, with an average percentage of 88%, indicating that this medium is interesting, easy to understand, and helpful in the learning process. The E-LKPD based on a constructivist approach is suitable for use as a supporting medium for physics learning on dynamic electricity material to improve student learning outcomes and skills.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Virtual Field Trip (VFT) learning media for Wasathiyah Islam material at SMK Pancasila Mojowarno, Jombang, East Java. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Dick and Carey model. The development stages included identifying learning objectives, conducting learning analysis, analyzing student characteristics, formulating specific goals, developing the product, designing learning strategies, preparing test items, conducting evaluations, revising the product, and performing summative evaluation. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The instruments used included validation questionnaires for media and material experts employing a Likert scale, as well as pretest and posttest to measure effectiveness. Data were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. Results revealed that the developed VFT media obtained a “Very Feasible” rating from media experts (91%) and material experts (86%). Effectiveness testing indicated a notable improvement in student achievement, with mean scores increasing from 60 on the pretest to 90 on the posttest, resulting in an N-Gain value of 0.8 categorized as high. In addition, students’ responses toward the implementation of VFT media were highly positive, with 95% in the “Very Good” category. Therefore, VFT media is effective in enhancing learning outcomes and motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the cooperative learning model, specifically the Jigsaw technique, on students’ conceptual understanding in the Aswaja subject. The background of this research stems from the need for more interactive and collaborative learning methods to address the challenges of conventional Aswaja instruction, which tends to be textual and lacks student engagement. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The research subjects consisted of 32 tenth-grade students at MA Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang, divided into an experimental group (Jigsaw method) and a control group (conventional lecture method). Data were collected using pretest-posttest instruments and a Jigsaw implementation questionnaire. The results of data analysis showed a significant difference in conceptual skill between students taught using the Jigsaw method and those taught with conventional methods, with a significance value of 0,025 (< 0,05) based on the independent sample t-test. Additionally, a positive relationship was found between the implementation of the Jigsaw method and students’ conceptual abil, as indicated by a Pearson correlation significance of 0,032 and a correlation coefficient of 0,554 (moderate category). It is concluded that the cooperative learning model using the Jigsaw technique is effective in enhancing students’ conceptual skill.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between student learning activities and cognitive learning outcomes through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to ecosystem material. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study population was all 10th-grade students of Mojoagung State Senior High School, Jombang, with a sample of 36 10th-grade students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data on student learning activities were obtained through observation sheets, while cognitive learning outcomes were measured using a learning achievement test. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman correlation test using SPSS version 26 software. This is because the learning activity data is ordinal in scale. The results showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between student learning activities and cognitive learning outcomes with a Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.943 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which is in the very strong relationship category. This finding indicates that the higher the student learning activities in problem-based learning, the higher the cognitive learning outcomes achieved. The implications of this study confirm that the application of PBL which emphasizes active student involvement plays an important role in improving conceptual understanding, especially in ecosystem material which is complex and contextual.
