Abstract

This activity was motivated by the limited ability of teachers to develop interactive and engaging digital teaching materials, which affects students’ independent learning skills. In today’s digital era, teachers are required not only to master the subject matter but also to utilize technology to support an independent and enjoyable learning process. The main objective of this activity was to provide training for teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Arifah Gowa in developing teaching materials through interactive online sites as an innovative learning approach to promote student autonomy. The implementation method consisted of three main stages: planning, execution, and evaluation. During the planning stage, training materials were prepared, covering the introduction of digital platforms, techniques for developing site-based teaching materials, and practical implementation guides. The execution stage was carried out through face-to-face training sessions combined with individual practice and intensive mentoring by the implementation team. The evaluation stage was conducted through assessment of the teaching products, reflective discussions, and participant satisfaction questionnaires. This activity involved a single group of 25 teachers from Madrasah Aliyah with diverse subject backgrounds. The results showed that all participants were able to create teaching materials using Google Sites that were attractive, easily accessible to students, and aligned with their respective subjects. The materials produced have been used as independent learning resources by students at their schools. The benefits gained include improved teacher competence in digital teaching material development, increased student motivation to learn independently, and the formation of a collaborative teacher network for developing learning media. This activity emphasizes that engaging teachers in practice-based training can drive digital transformation in education and strengthen the active role of the educational community in improving student learning quality.

Abstract

In the current digital era, the protection of personal data has become a crucial issue that continues to face various challenges. The increasing number of data breach incidents poses a potential risk for the misuse of personal information, while public awareness regarding the importance of data protection remains relatively low. Many individuals easily share their personal data without understanding the potential risks involved. Therefore, educating the community about personal data protection, particularly for the data management team in Duri Kepa Village, is seen as a solution that is expected to enhance understanding and awareness of the importance of information security. This community service activity is perceived to provide significant benefits to the public, one of which is to offer a deeper understanding of data protection, applying knowledge and technology in a tangible contribution to society. Early efforts to protect personal data from cybercrime related to data theft involve understanding the threats to personal data and knowing the preventive measures. The need for this presentation and training is realized through Community Service (PkM) activities conducted by lecturers and students as part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education

Abstract

The high rate of early marriage in Terapung Village, Central Buton Regency, is a serious concern in efforts to improve the quality of life of adolescents and break the cycle of poverty and unpreparedness for family. This Community Service (PkM) activity was carried out at MTs Swasta Waburense with an Islamic guidance approach as the main strategy to improve students' understanding of the dangers of early marriage. Through a series of activities in the form of an initial survey, provision of educational materials, group discussions, and spiritual guidance, students were invited to understand the importance of physical, mental, and moral responsibility readiness before entering marriage. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in students' awareness and attitudes towards the risks of early marriage, as well as a growing commitment to continue their education and postpone marriage until they were truly ready. The Islamic guidance approach has proven effective in touching on students' cognitive and emotional aspects, as well as strengthening spiritual values as a basis for decision making. This activity received full support from the school and community, and is recommended to be adopted sustainably as part of the local curriculum and policy in efforts to prevent early marriage among adolescents.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country prone to disasters, especially earthquakes and fires, which have the potential to greatly threaten the safety of occupants of multi-storey buildings, including educational facilities such as kindergartens. TK Safinda Surabaya is one of the early childhood education institutions that does not yet have a standardized emergency evacuation route system, even though the building consists of two floors and is located in a densely populated area. The early age group is included in the category of vulnerable populations to safety risks during disasters. Therefore, this community service activity aims to help TK Safinda design and calculate emergency evacuation routes based on the real conditions of the building and the characteristics of its occupants. This activity is carried out through a participatory-educational approach involving the service team, teachers, and students. The implementation method includes direct observation, measuring building dimensions, calculating evacuation capacity, and compiling evacuation route maps and gathering points in accordance with the principles of the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and the SFPE Handbook of Fire Protection Engineering reference. Evacuation time calculations are carried out based on parameters such as effective route width, population density, individual movement speed, and evacuation flow rate. The results of the activity show that the designed evacuation route has met the minimum standards for evacuation speed and capacity, and can be implemented effectively to support disaster preparedness. The implementation of ERP that is adjusted to the building structure and population of early childhood school users has been proven to be able to improve security, risk mitigation, and the understanding of school residents regarding emergency evacuation procedures. It is hoped that the results of this activity can be replicated in similar institutions in other densely populated and disaster-prone areas.

Abstract

The Qur'an is the main source of Islamic teachings that must be introduced from an early age through effective and interesting learning. However, in practice, Qur'an learning in Al-Qur'an Kindergartens (TKA) and Al-Qur'an Education Parks (TPA) still use conventional models that tend to be monotonous, thus affecting the interest and motivation of students to learn. This community service activity aims to increase students' interest and motivation to learn the Qur'an through the application of interactive learning models at TKA/TPA Masjid H. Zainuddin Dg. Mabelo Mosque, introduce the interactive learning model as an effective learning model to TKA/TPA teachers as a strengthening of teaching capacity, support Al-Qur'an learning by involving the role of the community, and to facilitate the availability of Al-Qur'an learning facilities in the form of Al-Qur'an and Iqra for TKA/TPA students. The implementation method includes three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation with a participatory approach. Activities consisted of an introduction to the interactive learning model, a workshop on strengthening the capacity of teachers, demonstration of learning methods, and distribution of Al-Qur'an and Iqra. The results of the activities show that the interactive learning model can increase santri involvement, build a fun learning atmosphere, and encourage teachers to adopt more innovative approaches. The evaluation of the activities also showed a positive response from teachers, students, and the community. This activity is expected to be an example of good practice that can be replicated and developed sustainably in other Qur'anic education institutions.

Abstract

Single-use plastic waste continues to pose a significant environmental challenge in urban public spaces across Indonesia, including in the Alun-Alun area of Malang City, East Java Province, Indonesia. The concentration of socio-economic activities in this location contributes to elevated levels of plastic consumption, particularly from the informal sector such as street vendors. Compounding this issue is the generally low level of public awareness regarding the environmental consequences of plastic pollution. This community engagement initiative was designed to enhance environmental literacy and promote behavioural change through direct educational outreach and the provision of reusable cloth bags as a sustainable alternative. Employing a participatory and educational methodology, the programme commenced with field-based observation to assess plastic usage habits, followed by the development and dissemination of educational brochures and the direct distribution of cloth bags to local residents and informal sector actors. The public response indicated a high degree of receptivity and engagement, as demonstrated by active participation in discussions and immediate adoption of the alternative bags. Preliminary post-activity evaluation revealed improved comprehension of the environmental impacts of single-use plastics and a greater willingness to transition towards more sustainable consumption practices. This initiative demonstrates that education-based interventions, when supported by practical solutions, can effectively cultivate ecological awareness and stimulate community-level environmental action. Furthermore, it contributes to the realisation of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).

Abstract

The formation and instillation of children's character values at SDN Kalianget Barat V is carried out through the scout movement which is packaged in the form of educamp activities. The instillation of these character values is based on the problems that occur, including cases of bullying among students, lack of respect for teachers, low levels of student discipline and lack of student self-confidence. The purpose of this PkM activity is to instill children's character values from an early age through mentoring of extracurricular scout activities held every Saturday. The methods implemented in this activity include three stages including: first, the preparation stage (initial observation, problem formulation, PkM objectives), second the implementation stage and third, the evaluation stage. The implementation of this PkM activity is carried out every Saturday by providing material on character education and material on scout skills I, II and III and practicing it outside the classroom as a form of educamp activity. The results of the implementation of Pk Mini went very smoothly and in accordance with the expected goals, this was proven by the enthusiasm of the participants or students to participate in the event because they were given encouragement and motivation by the speakers. Overall, character education assistance through the scouting movement packaged in this educamp can have a positive impact on students, especially in instilling character values from an early age.
