Abstract

This community service activity was initiated in response to the expressed needs of the local partner, namely the management of Gunung Dago Nature Tourism, Parung Panjang. Based on preliminary discussions with the management, it was identified that while the number of tourist visits has been increasing, this growth has not been matched by the human resource capacity to deliver services in accordance with tourism standards. The partner indicated an urgent need to enhance the capacity of local tourism actors, particularly in understanding and applying the principles of service excellence. Furthermore, the partner acknowledged a lack of awareness in delivering quality service, especially in handling visitor complaints. Key aspects such as responsiveness, empathy, and professional appearance (grooming) have not yet been prioritized in daily service practices. This situation has contributed to low visitor satisfaction and suboptimal destination image. Accordingly, this program aimed to equip tourism personnel with essential knowledge and skills in delivering excellent service through participatory approaches, including education and training. The implementation method consisted of three main stages: (1) preparation, involving coordination, material development, and preliminary survey; (2) a service excellence workshop focused on communication and service ethics; and (3) interactive training through simulations and role-playing. A total of 10 participants were involved, selected based on their direct roles in the destination’s service chain. Evaluation was conducted using a mixed-methods approach, combining pre- and post-tests (quantitative) with direct observation and feedback (qualitative). The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ cognitive understanding and service skills. Most participants demonstrated higher test scores and positive behavioral changes, including more courteous, responsive, and communicative service. The tourism management expressed satisfaction with the program and committed to implementing improved service standards. This activity contributes practically to community empowerment and theoretically to the development of participatory training models in tourism-based community service programs.

Abstract

Physical fitness is a crucial aspect in supporting the health, well-being, and academic achievement of students in schools. This issue is particularly relevant at SDN 003 Loa Janan Ilir, Samarinda City, especially following the pandemic period which caused a significant decline in students' physical activity. The problem statement and objective of this community service project are to explore how to develop the physical fitness of students at SDN 003 Loa Janan Ilir, Samarinda City, through the implementation of traditional game-based models. Differences in daily activities result in varying levels of students' physical fitness. Based on the calculation and analysis of research data, the following conclusions were drawn: 1) The physical fitness level of students at SDN 003 Loa Janan Ilir, Samarinda City, improved compared to the pre-test results, although still classified as moderate and low. 2) The implementation of physical fitness training based on traditional games successfully created a fun and interactive learning environment for the students. Traditional games were chosen because they are easily accessible, inexpensive, and engage all aspects of students' motor skills comprehensively. With this approach, students not only exercise but also learn through play. 3) The development of physical education teachers’ competencies at SDN 003 Loa Janan Ilir also showed progress. 4) Through training and mentoring provided, physical education teachers were able to master traditional game-based teaching methods more effectively and confidently. This community service activity at SDN 003 Loa Janan Ilir successfully introduced an innovative approach by applying traditional games as a medium for fostering students' physical fitness.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to raise awareness of healthy food consumption based on the B2SA (Diverse, Nutritious, Balanced, and Safe) principles through nutrition-sensitive outreach integrated with home-based farming practices. The target group was members of the Sri Rejeki Women's Farmers Group (KWT) in Giritirto Village, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta Special Region. Implementation methods included participatory outreach, direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and the distribution of a Likert-based questionnaire. Evaluation results indicated that pest control and the selection of nutrient-rich plant varieties were significantly related to improved consumption patterns of nutritious and balanced foods. However, the correlation with indicators of diverse and safe food consumption remained weak. These findings underscore the importance of an intersectoral approach between agricultural technical education and nutrition education to encourage changes in consumption behavior at the household level. This activity also successfully strengthened women's roles in family food management through capacity building and active participation in the outreach program. Thus, nutrition-sensitive outreach, designed in a participatory and contextual manner, can be an effective empowerment strategy for building sustainable family food security.

Abstract

In the era of digital transformation, public services such as PPK (District Election Committee) Kembangan in Jakarta are not exempt from information security challenges. This digital transformation involves integrating advanced technology into daily operations and providing services to the public through digital platforms. As the use of digital systems increases, so does the risk of cyberattacks. PPK Kembangan may face attacks such as phishing, ransomware, denial-of-service attacks, or misuse of citizens' personal data, which could disrupt election processes or other district activities. To enhance prevention against threats and vulnerabilities in information security within PPK Kembangan’s application services, a community service program was conducted through training for PPK Kembangan members. The results of this program showed that the training was successful, with participants demonstrating high enthusiasm. Participants actively asked questions regarding cases of information security attacks on both web-based and mobile applications. This program is expected to increase awareness of preventing cyber threats and vulnerabilities in PPK Kembangan’s service applications, thereby minimizing the occurrence of such attacks.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the learning motivation of sixth semester students through mentoring the use of a local online learning platform, Edlink. In facing the challenges of post-pandemic learning, Edlink is used as a medium that supports flexibility, active involvement, and independent learning management by students. This activity uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method involving 20 students and measures learning motivation based on Keller's ARCS (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction) model. The results of the activity show that the majority of students feel an increase in learning motivation after using Edlink, especially in terms of organizing time, independence, and active participation in online learning. Therefore, this activity recommends the wider use of Edlink in higher education environments to support interactive, effective learning processes that are oriented towards strengthening student learning motivation.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has significantly shaped modern society. However, this widespread technological presence is not matched by an equal rise in digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness, particularly in Indonesia's frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped regions (3T areas) such as Sanggaria Village in Keerom Regency, Papua. The primary goal of this community service initiative is to increase digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness among the local population, especially the youth, who are among the most active users of digital technology. A lack of cybersecurity knowledge makes the community vulnerable to various forms of cybercrime. Therefore, this program focuses on educating residents especially teenagers about the importance of digital safety and responsible technology use. The target audience includes the general public, with a specific emphasis on youth, given their high engagement with digital platforms but limited understanding of the risks involved. The methods employed in this program included field observation, educational presentations, and interactive group discussions. Through direct engagement and interactive material delivery, this initiative successfully improved participants' understanding of digital literacy, especially in terms of digital safety. The positive responses and feedback received suggest that the community is receptive to new knowledge and highlights the need for similar educational efforts in the future to ensure sustainable digital empowerment.

Abstract

This community service program aims to provide assistance and education on the implementation of the Business Identification Number (Nomor Induk Berusaha or NIB) for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Rungkut Kidul Sub-district, Surabaya. Many MSME actors in the area still lack formal business legality, which limits their access to government support programs such as funding, training, and partnerships. Through this initiative, the implementing team conducted socialization, technical training, and direct assistance in the online NIB registration process via the Online Single Submission (OSS) system. The method employed was a participatory approach, involving local business owners as active participants in each stage of the activity. The results indicate that most participants successfully obtained their NIBs and gained a better understanding of the importance of business legality for long-term development. This program has made a significant contribution by raising legal awareness and business capacity among the community, while also strengthening the foundation of the local economy through a more structured and formal MSME sector.

Abstract

BJB Darmo Branch, Surabaya, regularly organizes training through BJB University and conducts digital-based performance evaluations through the BJB Prestasiku platform. However, the effectiveness of the training has not been thoroughly evaluated. This service activity aims to evaluate the impact of training on service quality and employee performance, as well as provide recommendations and initial assistance for implementing improvements. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques through direct observation, standardized questionnaires filled out by 30 active employees, and informal interviews. The results of the analysis showed that the training had a positive contribution to improving service quality and performance, although most participants considered the training materials to be too general and not fully relevant to their daily tasks. Based on these findings, strategic recommendations were developed that included adjusting training materials based on work division, conducting a training needs survey, and providing post-training reflection sessions. Initial assistance was conducted through informal communication and follow-up monitoring, including internal socialization activities by management. This activity is expected to be the basis for improving the training system to be more relevant, adaptive, and have a real impact on improving the quality of human resources within Bank BJB Darmo Branch.
