Abstract

This community service program helped tourism managers in Cibodas Village, a growing tourist destination in Pasirjambu, Bandung, learn more about how to run a business ethically. Some of the main problems were a lack of openness, poor professional administration, and a lack of youth involvement. The initiative set up training sessions that included case studies from other villages, interactive conversations, and lessons on ethical business practices to help people come up with solutions that worked for their area. The results showed that people were more aware of ethical standards, that stakeholders worked together better, and that they were committed to managing tourism in a way that respects cultural heritage and the environment.

Abstract

According to data from Sukolilo District, the Kader Surabaya Hebat have 20 members. Their role is to assist residents and families in implementing Clean and Healthy Lifestyles (PHBS). However, in carrying out their duties, problems often arise, ranging from ridicule, accusations of manipulating and exploiting residents' data for personal gain, to the spread of conspiracy theories and hoaxes. These problems hamper the Surabaya City Government's PHBS program, especially when it is not supported by effective communication between cadres and the community. Therefore, the Faculty of Psychology at the University of North Sumatra (UHT) conducted an empowerment intervention to improve interpersonal communication in Sukolilo Village. This one-day activity included counseling and a Q&A session with 15 female cadres. The activity was measured using a Likert-based effective communication questionnaire to gauge understanding before and after the training. The questionnaire was based on indicators of openness, empathy, support, positive attitudes, and equality. This activity was attended by 15 female cadres. The results showed no significant difference before and after the training. Recommendations include conducting regular mentoring activities and ensuring improvement by practicing effective interpersonal communication skills.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of implementing Tawazun Agency Cost on the management of Financial Risk and its impact on the Financial Performance of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. Tawazun Agency Cost is a concept that emphasizes balancing agency costs with prudence and fairness in decision-making between managers and the owners of Islamic boarding schools. Using a quantitative approach, this research employed questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents from Islamic boarding schools registered with the Ministry of Religious Affairs during the 2019–2024 period. Data analysis was conducted using multiple regression and classical assumption tests to ensure the validity of the results. The findings indicate that the application of Tawazun Agency Cost significantly contributes to reducing Financial Risk, which indirectly improves the Financial Performance of Islamic boarding schools. In addition, financial risk was also found to have a negative effect on financial performance, highlighting the importance of effective risk management. This study provides important implications for the management of Islamic boarding schools in optimizing agency costs and risk management to achieve optimal financial performance. The results of this research are expected to serve as a reference for academics and practitioners in developing more effective financial management strategies based on the principles of balance and fairness.

Abstract

This community service program aims to implement a child-friendly sign system at SDS Sawitan PT. Bangkit Giat Usaha Mandiri (BUM) to support the Child-Friendly School concept in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) No. 8 of 2014. The activities were carried out using a participatory method, involving teachers, students, and the KKN team in four stages: planning, production and installation, socialization and education, and evaluation. The signs were designed with bright colors, simple illustrations, and easy-to-understand language, and were printed on safe and weather-resistant materials. As a result, students were able to understand the signs without additional explanations, showed improved orderly behavior and compliance with rules, and required fewer verbal instructions from teachers. Socialization efforts with students and parents extended the educational impact into the home environment. The evaluation indicated the need to adjust the position of several signs to enhance visibility. Overall, this program successfully created a safer, more informative, and conducive learning environment, while instilling values of discipline, cleanliness, and care from an early age. This success underscores the importance of cross-sector collaboration in producing sustainable educational visual solutions for elementary schools.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted in Rajawana Village, Karangmoncol District, Purbalingga Regency, with the aim of improving public understanding of Islamic and conventional economics. The activity was motivated by the rapid growth of Islamic banking and financial institutions in Indonesia, which has not been matched by adequate public literacy, especially in rural areas where communities still predominantly rely on conventional systems. The program was implemented on August 1, 2025, using a lecture method combined with interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions. The materials were presented in three subtopics: (1) the definition of economics, Islamic economics, and conventional economics; (2) the characteristics of both systems; and (3) the key differences between them. The results showed a 35% increase in participants’ knowledge scores, along with greater willingness to adopt sharia-based financial practices. Farmers, traders, and small business actors demonstrated growing interest in alternatives such as murabahah, mudharabah, and musyarakah. However, the program also revealed structural challenges, including limited access to Islamic financial institutions and inadequate digital infrastructure. These findings suggest that socialization efforts must be complemented by continuous mentoring, replication of similar programs in other rural areas, and stronger collaboration with local Islamic financial institutions to ensure sustainability and long-term impact

Abstract

This article analyzes the process of resolving Surat Permintaan Penjelasan Data dan/atau Keterangan (SP2DK) received by CV ABC, a food and beverage distributor, for the 2022 and 2023 tax years. In Indonesia's self-assessment tax system, discrepancies often arise between taxpayer reports and data held by tax authorities. To address these gaps and enhance compliance, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) issues SP2DK as a strategic supervisory instrument. This study utilized a qualitative case study approach with a consultative assistance method (pendampingan). The analysis was conducted through data equalization and a thorough review of relevant tax regulations. The findings revealed common issues such as an unusually low profit margin, unreported bonus income in the form of goods, and data inconsistencies in Income Tax Article 23 and Value added tax return. Most findings were successfully resolved through clarification and voluntary corrections by the taxpayer. This case highlights the critical importance of professional assistance and strong internal controls to improve tax compliance and overcome administrative complexities, particularly for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The findings of this study are expected to provide practical insights for other taxpayers and serve as a valuable reference for academics and policymakers

Abstract

This community service program aims to empower the Village-Owned Enterprise and Tenjolaya Tourism Village by strengthening social media marketing skills and improving service quality. Tenjolaya Village has significant natural and cultural tourism potential. However, tourism destination management faces various challenges, particularly in digital marketing and service quality, resulting in under-utilization of this potential. This activity actively involves the community in training, mentoring, and developing marketing strategies and tourism services. The methods used in this community service program are participatory, including intensive training on social media marketing, service quality improvement workshops, ongoing mentoring, and the formation of social media and tourism service management teams. The training focuses on utilizing social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok for tourism promotion. At the same time, the workshop aims to improve the community's skills in providing excellent service to tourists. Intensive mentoring is provided to ensure effective and sustainable strategy implementation. The expected results of this activity are an increase in the number of tourist visits through effective digital promotion, increased tourist satisfaction through quality services, and community empowerment in independently managing tourism potential. This community service activity aims to improve the performance of the Village-Owned Enterprise and tourist villages and empower the community to become independent in managing its tourism potential. This program is expected to significantly impact the economic development and well-being of the Tenjolaya Village community through a systematic and sustainable approach
