Abstract

This service is dedicated to providing technical assistance aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI) at UIN Mataram in order to promote Good University Governance (GUG). The primary concern is that the SPI has limited capabilities in executing its supervisory, risk management, and strategic consulting functions. As a result, the SPI is not fully optimizing its role in ensuring accountability, transparency, effectiveness, and efficiency in university governance. This service aims to provide technical assistance to improve the capacity of the Internal Audit Unit (SPI) of UIN Mataram in order to support the realization of Good University Governance (GUG). The objective of this community service program is to improve the understanding, skills, and institutional capacity of SPI through technical assistance, human resource development, and the establishment of operational standards.  The community service methodology involves a participatory approach consisting of the following stages: analyzing the SPI’s institutional needs, conducting interactive discussions and case studies, and performing monitoring and evaluation to assess improvements in capability. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the internal auditors' understanding of risk management, improvement of the audit reporting mechanism, and institutional commitment to strengthening the role of SPI. This assistance also encouraged the growth of a culture of accountability and transparency within the university. Thus, this community service made a real contribution to strengthening the SPI of UIN Mataram towards becoming a competitive, credible, and highly integrity university

Abstract

The village of Sumbersari faced an increase in dengue fever cases, while residents still relied on chemical insecticides that were harmful to health and the environment. The lack of knowledge about the use of natural ingredients such as lemongrass and basil prompted the implementation of socialization, education, and practical training for PKK mothers. Activities included providing materials, discussions, pre-tests and post-tests, as well as hands-on practice in making natural sprays. As a result, residents' understanding increased from 75% to 95%, and their independent production skills also improved. This program has successfully empowered the community through safe, environmentally friendly, economical solutions that support healthy lifestyles and sustainable dengue fever prevention.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the needs and business processes in inventory management at the Irna Dewi Megawati midwife clinic, as well as to design an accounting information system for the inventory of goods using the FIFO (First In First Out) method. Currently, inventory management at the Clinic is carried out manually, relying on notes or receipts from goods distributors, which often leads to errors in inventory data, delays in finding goods data, and difficulties in making reports. This research uses a qualitative method. Data were collected through interviews and observations. The system was developed using the prototyping method, with the initial design created using Balsamiq. The system was created using the PHP programming language, MySQL as the database, and XAMPP as the local database server. The results of this study show that the system can provide accurate inventory data, record incoming and outgoing transactions in real-time, and support clinics in decision-making. With this solution, the inventory management process at the Irna Dewi Megawati midwife clinic becomes more efficient and easier to use by users or staff who do not have an IT background.

Abstract

This community engagement program aimed to enhance agricultural productivity and management capacity of two farmer groups in Probolinggo Regency—Poktan Karya Luhur II and Poktan Gebangan Makmur—through the adoption of IoT-based hydroponic farming. Activities included designing and installing deep water culture (DWC) and nutrient film technique (NFT) systems with sensors for pH, EC/TDS, temperature, and humidity; training on hydroponic cultivation and food safety; and workshops on bookkeeping and financial literacy. The results showed that farmers could operate the systems independently, monitor crop conditions in real time, and reduce water and nutrient waste. Production cycles became more stable compared to conventional farming, while managerial capacity improved through better record-keeping and cost analysis. Overall, the program increased productivity, efficiency, and farmer self-confidence, demonstrating that sustainable community empowerment requires both technological innovation and organizational strengthening

Abstract

The Community Partnership Program (PKM) was implemented to promote the realization of a green economy through the utilization of household waste as raw material for organic agriculture. The program’s partner is Jamaah Tani Muhammadiyah (JATAM), a local community group focused on sustainable farming. The activities began with training on organizational management and product management to strengthen internal capacity, followed by technical training on the use of waste-sorting equipment. The results of the program indicate an improvement in organizational capacity, particularly in task delegation, program coordination, and institutional strengthening. In addition, the organization’s output orientation became more explicit with the introduction of waste processing into economically valuable products such as compost and liquid organic fertilizer (POC). These products not only serve as inputs for organic agriculture but also carry market potential as a source of sustainable funding. Conceptually, the program integrates the principles of circular economy and sustainability, framing waste as a valuable resource. In this way, the PKM contributes on two fronts: strengthening JATAM’s institutional capacity while simultaneously creating an organic farming ecosystem that supports the green economy.

Abstract

Character education is a system of instilling character values in school members that includes components of knowledge, awareness or willingness, and actions to implement these values toward God Almighty, human beings, and the environment. The lack of awareness to embody the values of Pancasila will lead to the degradation of the nation’s character, causing citizens to deviate from the Pancasila values that form the character of the Indonesian nation. This community service aims to understand character education based on Pancasila values through exemplary conduct and habituation. This service activity is based on a literature study or library research process. It involves providing trainings to residents of the Class IIA Juvenile Correctional Institution in West Kalimantan to obey rules, norms, customs, and laws, as well as to foster a spirit of togetherness in their environment, instill democratic attitudes among fellow residents, teach social concern, and avoid apathy, thereby forming positive character traits in them. The institution is located in Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. This activity is motivated by the obligation in the Catur Darma Perguruan Tinggi, which encourages lecturers and students to be directly involved in community service. The methods used in this program include lectures, role-playing, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. Through this approach, it is hoped that the residents will understand the importance of character education and will later possess sufficient awareness and knowledge to actively participate in social and national life upon returning to their communities.

Abstract

Waste issues pose a challenge in the environmental sector, especially in rural areas. Low public awareness of sustainable waste management demands the active involvement of youth as agents of change. This community service program aims to strengthen the role of youth organizations in sustainable waste management through digital literacy, the establishment of waste banks, and the optimization of the management of the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) TPS. Activities are carried out through training, mentoring, and participatory actions involving 10 youth organizations and 20 local residents. Quantitative results show a 60% increase in digital literacy competency, a 45% increase in community participation in waste sorting, and a 50% increase in the effectiveness of 3R TPS management. This program has successfully empowered youth organizations as digital-based environmental education agents and strengthened the sustainable integrated waste management system at the village level.

Abstract

This community engagement program titled “Religious-Based Maritime Education for Introducing Bugis-Makassar Sea Traditions and Culture at SD 82 Pattene Maros” was conducted in response to the declining awareness of local maritime traditions among young students due to modernization and limited exposure to cultural and religious values in formal education. The community partners—teachers and students in a coastal primary school—faced challenges in integrating local maritime knowledge and spiritual values into daily learning. To address this, the team designed a participatory-educative approach by developing a thematic module combining Islamic moral teachings with Bugis-Makassar maritime traditions such as sailing, fishing, and coastal rituals. The implementation took place one week before the Haul Akbar of Tarekat Khalwatiyah Samman, a local religious event, to strengthen students’ understanding of spirituality, community solidarity, and cultural heritage. Activities included classroom learning, storytelling, field observation at coastal areas, and reflection sessions guided by teachers and community leaders. The results showed significant improvements in students’ enthusiasm, religious character, social cooperation, and ecological awareness. They demonstrated greater respect for local culture, care for the marine environment, and appreciation of their Bugis-Makassar identity. This program concludes that integrating religious and maritime education effectively preserves local wisdom while fostering moral and cultural character formation among coastal students in Indonesia.
