Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tentang integrasi pembelajaran Bahasa Arab melalui buku Silsilah Ta’lim al-Lugah dan Al-Arabiyah Bayna Yadaika (ABY). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif diawali dengan sebuah upaya eksplorasi melalui observasi terhadap berbagai realitas sistem pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Ma’had Al-Birr Unismuh Makassar dalam penggunaan buku Silsilah dan ABY. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode pembelajaran bahasa Arab yang dikembangkan di Ma’had Al-Birr adalah lebih kepada metode langsung (al-tariqah al-mubasyarah). Penerapan metode ini menganut prinsip pembelajaran bahasa Arab secara langsung tanpa menggunakan bahasa kedua (bahasa perantara atau bahasa ibu) sebagai bahasa pengantar dan itulah yang menjadi keunggulan dan ciri khas Ma’had dalam sistem pembelajarannya. Sedang integrasi kitab silsilah dan ABY dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Ma’had Al-Birr mampu memadukan antara keahlian berbahasa dan unsur-unsurnya; memberikan perhatian pada sistem suara dalam bahasa Arab; memperhatikan proses tadarruj (bertahap) dalam menyampaikan materi pelajaran; memperhatikan perbedaan-perbedaan individu diantara para pelajar; menggunakan sistem unit pelajaran dalam menyampaikan materi; menampilkan setiap kosa kata dan ungkapan-ungkapan yang terdapat dalam setiap kitab; memanfaatkan berbagai pengalaman khusus dalam menyusun materi-materi khusus pelajaran bahasa Arab dan bahasa-bahasa lain; menampilkan nilai-nilai budaya dengan cara yang menarik serta menggunakan banyak gambar.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the phonology of the Arabic language, its relationship with psycholinguistics, and how the processing of Arabic phonemes occurs in the human brain. Further, it delves into the influence of the phonological system on both language comprehension and production, the challenges faced by non-native speakers in learning Arabic, and effective pedagogical approaches for teaching it. This study incorporates both theoretical frameworks and empirical research to examine the intricate relationship between phonological aspects, cognitive processes, and Arabic language acquisition. The article underscores the significance of mastering phonology as a foundational skill for effective communication in Arabic, both spoken and written and highlights the importance of integrating phonetic-based strategies into language learning. This comprehensive approach is crucial for developing a systematic, logical, and contextually relevant understanding of Arabic in psycholinguistic terms.

Abstract

This research is a correlational study using a quantitative approach that aims to determine the relationship between the memorizing the Qur'an and the Arabic-speaking skills of SMP IT Al-Huda Makassar students. The independent variable in this study was memorizing the Qur'an, while the dependent variable was the students' Arabic speaking skills. The population in this study were all 103 students of SMP IT Al-Huda Makassar, and the sample in this study were students of class VIII female students of SMP IT Al-Huda Makassar, totaling 18 people with a random sampling technique. Research data in this study were obtained by giving Al-Qur'an memorization tests and Arabic speaking skills oral tests. The data analysis technique used is the product moment correlation analysis technique, with a correlation coefficient of 0.796 and a significance value of 5.2602. The results of this study indicate that there is a strong positive relationship between Al-Qur'an memorization and the Arabic-speaking skills of SMP IT Al-Huda Makassar students. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between memorization of the Qur'an and the speaking skills of SMP IT Al-Huda Makassar students.

Abstract

This research aims to uncover the representation of the author's worldview and social structure depicted in the novel Fi'rān Ummī Ḥiṣṣah by Saud al-Sanousi through Lucien Goldmann's Genetic Structuralism approach. This research focuses on the analysis of how social structures, especially those related to sectarian tensions between Sunnis and Shiites, are reflected in the narrative and characters in the novel. Using the theory of genetic structuralism, this study examines the relationship between the social, historical, and collective consciousness conditions that shape the author's worldview and how these affect the story and character portrayal in literary works. The results of the analysis show that Saud al-Sanousi used this novel as a forum to depict social tensions that included sectarian differences in Kuwaiti society. The social structure contained in this novel shows how sectarian tensions govern the social and political life of Kuwaiti society, which affects the behavior and mindset of the characters. Thus, through an analysis of genetic structuralism, it can be concluded that the novel Fi'rān Ummī Ḥiṣṣah not only reflects the experiences of individuals in dealing with social and political conflicts, but also shows the powerful influence of social structures and collective consciousness on the author's worldview. This novel is a medium of criticism of social disintegration caused by sectarian differences, as well as depicting the search for hope in the face of future uncertainty. Abstract

This study aims to describe the problems seen from a feminist perspective, in the form of forms of injustice against women contained in the novel "Al Hubb fi Zamani Al Nafthi" by Nawal El Saadawi. Nawal El Sadawi, is a famous writer who is very sensitive in expressing the feelings of women who experience injustice. The method to uncover injustice against women is by descriptive analysis of the injustice events contained in the novel "Al Hubb Fi Zamani Al Nafthi" using a feminist and gender approach. The results of this study indicate that there are several problems, including: first, feminist literature is an approach that aims to describe gender issues that are dominated by men, which are characterized by gender inequality. Second, the gender issues contained in the novel are violence against women, women's subordination, stereotypes or negative labeling against women, and physical violence that occurs in the household.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Family 100 game in Arabic language learning, specifically in mastering vocabulary and examine the effectiveness of using the Family 100 Game in enhancing Arabic vocabulary mastery (mufradat) in class XI IPA 2 at SMA Islam Singosari. Given the importance of vocabulary mastery in Arabic language learning, this research is expected to contribute to improving the quality of learning. A quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental design was applied in this study, using the One Group Pre-test and Post-test Design model. The sample consisted of 30 students from class XI IPA 2, and data were collected through pre-test and post-test assessments, as well as documentation. Data analysis was conducted using normality tests, homogeneity tests, the Wilcoxon test, and the N-Gain test to measure the effectiveness of the game-based learning method. The results showed that the implementation of the Family 100 Game significantly improved Arabic vocabulary mastery. This was evident from the significant increase in pre-test and post-test scores, with an N-Gain value of .8268 and N-persen 82.6825. The Wilcoxon test produced a significant value of 0.000, indicating a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results.

Abstract

This research examines the translation techniques of the conjunctions “dan” or “wa” in Surah Al-Isra’ verses 1-111. This study is a type of qualitative research with comparative descriptive analysis. This is done by comparing the conjunctions “wa” and “dan” between the Arabic source text (ST) and the Indonesian target text (TT). The results obtained are: 182 data of the conjunction “wa” in Surah Al-Isra’ verses 1 to 111. The conjunction “wa” in the translation results has a connection pattern; 1) between words as many as 9 data, 2) between phrases as many as 13 data, 3) between sentences as many as 160 data. The conjunction pattern between sentences is the most used, while the conjunction pattern between words is the least used. The translation techniques found are 3 techniques (literal, reduction, adaptation). The three techniques are divided into 2 main techniques, namely; 1 single technique (literal), and 1 couplet technique (reduction + adaptation). The number of single (literal) techniques is 164 data points. The number of couplet techniques (reduction + adaptation) is 18 data points. The translation technique (literal) is the most frequently used translation technique, while the couplet technique (reduction + adaptation) is the least frequently used technique.Keywords: translation techniques, conjunctions, literals, reduction, adaptation, al-Isra’

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji proses ekranisasi cerita Aladdin dari Kisah 1001 Malam menjadi film Aladdin (2019), dengan fokus pada aspek tokoh, latar (waktu, tempat, sosial budaya), dan alur berdasarkan kategori pensil, penambahan, dan perubahan bervariasi berdasarkan teori ekranisasi Pamusuk Eneste. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan komparatif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa proses ekranisasi menyebabkan berbagai perubahan signifikan dalam struktur cerita. Perubahan tersebut meliputi: (1) Kesetaraan gender, ditampilkan melalui karakter Putri Jasmine yang memperjuangkan hak-haknya dalam sistem patriarki; (2) Lintas budaya, yakni pergantian latar tempat dari Tiongkok ke Agrabah yang merepresentasikan budaya Arab dan meningkatkan daya tarik global; dan (3) Keberagaman ras dan agama, dengan penggambaran tokoh-tokoh dari berbagai latar belakang etnis dan keyakinan. Perubahan ini dinilai sebagai strategi sutradara untuk menarik minat penonton global dan meraih keuntungan komersial yang lebih besar dibandingkan versi kisah aslinya.

Abstract

This study analyzes identity conflicts in modern Arabic literature through a postcolonial approach, focusing on “The Cairo Trilogy” by Naguib Mahfouz. By combining literary analysis with a sociopolitical examination of early 20th-century Egypt, this research aims to explore how social, political, and economic changes triggered by colonialism and the rise of nationalism shape the characters' identities in the novel. Additionally, this study highlights how Mahfouz portrays the tension between traditional values and modernity within the context of Egypt’s postcolonial transformation. Through a narrative ich in family and societal dynamics, “The Cairo Trilogy” not only illustrates Egypt’s social shifts but also reflects the complexity of individual identity formation in an ever-changing world. The identity conflicts experienced by the members of the Abdel Gawad family, particularly in confronting deepening modernization, serve as a microcosm of the internal and external struggles faced by Egyptian society during this transitional period. Beyond being a mere depiction of socio-political realities, the novel also offers a sharp critique of modernization and postcolonial cultural transformations that redefine societal values and ways of life. Thus, this work is not only significant as a literary masterpiece but also as a lens for understanding the evolving dynamics of identity in a postcolonial context

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of language court implementation on the motivation to speak Arabic among female students in grade XI at the Ummul Mukminin 'Aisyiyah Islamic Boarding School in Makassar and to identify the dominant types of motivation. This study uses a mixed method approach with a mixed design involving a sample of 70 female students. Data were obtained through questionnaires and interviews and analyzed using descriptive, inferential, and qualitative statistics. The results of simple linear regression analysis showed a correlation coefficient (r) of .267 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of .071, indicating that the language court had a positive and significant effect on the motivation to speak Arabic among female students of 7.1%. The significance value of .025 < .05 confirms that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. These findings are also supported by the results of interviews with female students. The most dominant type of motivation is intrinsic motivation with an average value of 41.33. Thus, the language court is effective in increasing female students' motivation to speak Arabic, both intrinsically and extrinsically.
