Padma Sari: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan adalah jurnal ilmiah berkala yang diterbitkan oleh Institut Agama Hindu Negeri Gde Pudja Mataram. Jurnal ini memfokuskan kajian pada bidang Ilmu Pendidikan, termasuk Pendidikan Agama dan Pendidikan Seni. Jurnal ini mengundang para ilmuwan, cendekiawan, profesional, dan peneliti dalam disiplin Ilmu Pendidikan untuk berkontribusi mengirimkan artikel yang akan diterbitkan dan disebarluaskan melalui: mekanisme pemilihan artikel, dikritik oleh reviewer, dan proses penyuntingan. Abstract

Pendidikan tidak hanya tentang mentransfer pengetahuan, melainkan membentuk karakter dan perilaku peserta didik yang didambakan oleh masyarakat. Keberhasilan Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar (KBM) tidak terlepas dari berbagai aspek. Peran guru dalam hal ini memiliki kedudukan dan peranan penting. Setiap guru memiliki pendekatan yang berbeda dalam mengajar dan akan memengaruhi terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dan kedisiplinannya karena guru adalah sosok yang disegani dan diteladani. Sehingga setiap guru sepatutnya mengoptimalkan perannya sebagai guru sekaligus leader (pemimpin) dalam hal ini di kelas. Salah satu gaya mengajar guru yang lumrah dikenal adalah gaya mengajar otoriter yaing menekankan prinsip disiplin tinggi, aturan yang ketat, kendali penuh dari guru serta menjunjung tinggi tanggungjawab. Meskipun demikian, gaya mengajar guru otoriter memiliki dampak yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan kedisiplinan peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan penelitian kepustakaan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian ini tertarik menelisik terkait gaya mengajar guru otoriter yang diterapkan oleh guru di sekolah, mengidentifikasi ciri-ciri figur guru yang mengadopsi gaya mengajar otoriter di sekolah dalam upaya meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Penulis juga tertarik untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi peserta didik lebih termotivasi jika diajarkan oleh guru otoriter serta mengkaji bagaimana implikasi (dampak) atau kemungkinan-kemungkinan yang ditimbulkan dari penggunaan gaya mengajar otoriter oleh guru di sekolah. Penelitian ini sangat penting dimana gaya mengajar yang diadopsi yang menjadi pendekatan dalam mengajar dari seorang guru sangat menentukan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa, kedisiplinan dan menginternalisasi atau menanamkan karakter yang baik dalam diri peserta didik.

Abstract

Abstract Boring learning is one of the causes of low student motivation. PAIKEM as a learning model is a solution to overcome these problems. This study aims to find the influence between the application of the PAIKEM model on students' learning motivation in the subject of Hindu Religious Education and Ethics at SMPN 1 Mataram This research was conducted with an Associative Quantitative approach and Ex-Post Facto method. Research data were obtained through questionnaires, observations, and documentation. Data analysis assisted by SPSS 25.0 was carried out to conduct descriptive analysis and inferential analysis which included prerequisite tests, simple regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The study population was all Hindu students at SMPN 1 Mataram totaling 381 people. The sample used was class VIII of 137 students. The results of data analysis: the mean (average) value for the application of the PAIKEM model is 84.01 with data distribution showing that 41 students (30.37%) stated very well, 81 students (60%) stated well, and 13 students (9.63%) stated quite well. While the results of the analysis of the mean value of student learning motivation are 82.89 with data distribution showing that there are 46 students (34.07%) stating very good, 62 students (45.93%) stating good, and 27 students (20%) stating quite good. Through simple regression analysis, it was found that variables X and Y had a relationship of 33%. Based on the results of the product moment correlation test, the pearson corelation value is 0.579 with the results of Df (degrees of freedom) = n-2 or 135-2 = 133. At the 0.05 significance level, the r table value is 0.169. This means that rcount = 0.579> rtable = 0.169. So it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. From the results of this study it can be recommended to teachers to apply PAIKEM in learning. Keywords: PAIKEM Model, Learning Motivation, Students

Abstract

Dharmagita merupakan salah satu metode pembelajaran agama Hindu yang efektif dan menyenangkan, sekaligus berfungsi sebagai sarana siar agama yang bernilai spiritual tinggi. Sebagai bentuk tembang keagamaan, Dharmagita mengandung ajaran suci tentang kebenaran (satya), etika moral, dan budi pekerti luhur yang sejalan dengan nilai-nilai tattwa dan etika Hindu. Dalam konteks pendidikan nonformal seperti pasraman, Dharmagita diterapkan sebagai media pembelajaran yang inovatif untuk memperkuat pemahaman siswa terhadap ajaran agama secara menyeluruh. Perkembangan teknologi dan arus globalisasi menuntut para acarya untuk menerapkan pendekatan pembelajaran yang kreatif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan generasi muda, termasuk melalui media musikal seperti Dharmagita. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada analisis terhadap eksistensi Dharmagita sebagai media pembelajaran inovatif di pasramanpasraman se-Kota Mataram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Dharmagita tidak hanya memperkaya konten ajaran Hindu dalam proses pembelajaran, tetapi juga secara signifikan meningkatkan minat, keterlibatan, dan partisipasi aktif sisya (siswa). Melalui pendekatan yang menyenangkan dan sarat makna, Dharmagita terbukti mampu menjadi jembatan efektif antara nilai-nilai spiritual Hindu dan kebutuhan pedagogis masa kini, serta mendukung pencapaian tujuan pendidikan agama Hindu yang utuh dan bermakna.

Abstract

The discourse of religious moderation in non-formal religious education is becoming increasingly relevant amid the challenges of diversity and increasing symptoms of social intolerance. This article aims to analyse learning strategies for building the values of religious moderation at an early age in Pasraman Swasta Pranawa in Mataram City. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that the dominant strategies for effectively internalising the values of tolerance, respect for differences, and social harmony are effective and contextual approaches. The example of Acarya, along with the local Hindu values-based approach known as Tat Twam Asi, plays a significant role in shaping Sisya moderate character. This article contributes to the development of a character education model based on spiritual values and local culture in the realm of Hindu religious education. The results of this study affirm the urgency of strengthening moderate learning strategies in non-formal religious institutions as part of multicultural education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the issues in Hindu religious education at Senior High School 4 Mataram, which still relies on conventional methods such as lectures and note-taking. These methods create a monotonous learning environment and fail to holistically develop students' character and spirituality. To address this issue, the study adopts the SMART Method (Sattva, Maitri, Adhyayana, Rasa, and Tapas) as an innovative learning approach that integrates the noble values of Hindu teachings with a holistic instructional strategy that engages cognitive, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including direct observation of the learning process, document analysis (such as syllabi, lesson plans, and evaluation results), and literature reviews to reinforce the theoretical foundation. The data were systematically analyzed through reduction, narrative presentation, and conclusion drawing based on patterns observed throughout the learning process. The findings indicate that the application of the SMART Method successfully fosters a more dynamic and meaningful learning atmosphere, enhances student engagement, and cultivates discipline, empathy, and deep spiritual awareness. Therefore, the SMART Method not only improves cognitive aspects but also strengthens the moral and social dimensions of students, making Hindu religious education a comprehensive self-transformation process that aligns with contemporary educational needs.

Abstract

The digital era has significantly transformed the way students access information and engage in social interactions. However, this transformation also presents substantial challenges to the development of character and moral values. Phenomena such as information overload, the spread of misinformation, and the decline of face-to-face interaction have contributed to the erosion of moral resilience among younger generations. The core problem addressed in this study is how the revitalization of Tattwa values and Hindu ethics can serve as a relevant and effective foundation for character education amid the complexities of the digital age. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to explore the revitalization of Tattwa values and Hindu ethics in shaping students’ character education within the context of digital society. This study adopts a descriptive qualitative approach utilizing literature review as the primary method for data collection. Data were gathered from a range of credible sources, including academic journals, scholarly books, conference proceedings, and relevant articles focused on character education and Hindu values. The data analysis process consisted of three main stages: data reduction to extract key information, systematic presentation of data in descriptive narrative form, and drawing conclusions through conceptual synthesis. The findings reveal that Tattwa values and Hindu ethical frameworks such as Catur Paramita, Tri Kaya Parisudha, Tri Hita Karana, and Panca Yadnya play a strategic role in fostering student character marked by integrity and spiritual awareness. The integration of these values into educational practices, particularly through contextual approaches that link Hindu teachings to digital phenomena such as cyberbullying can effectively enhance students' moral awareness and character resilience in a comprehensive manner.

Abstract

Radicalism is one of the challenges that needs to be faced by the Indonesian state. Through a pluralistic nation in terms of religion and culture, Indonesia is prone to being infiltrated by individuals who divide the nation. Therefore, a balance in carrying out obligations as citizens and religious believers needs to be sought from an early age. This is what is done by one of the youth organizations called Pimpinan Cabang Kesatuan Mahasiswa Hindu Dharma (PC KMHDI) Denpasar, by ideologizing the value of Dharma Agama and Dharma Negara through non-formal education. On this basis, this research is present with the aim of describing in depth the ideologization of the values of Dharma Agama and Dharma Negara through Nonformal Education in PC KMHDI Denpasar. Based on the topic, three problems were formulated, namely the value of Dharma Agama in the KMHDI perspective, the value of Dharma Negara in the KMHDI perspective, and the ideologization of these two values through Nonfromal Education in KMHDI. Relying on the type of qualitative research that uses a naturalistic approach, this research shows the results and discussion, that: 1) Ideologization of Dharma Agama is based on Vedic values with the aim of realizing Hindu intellectuals who are Moksartham Jagadhita Ya Ca Iti Dharma. 2) The ideologization of Dharma Negara relies on Pancasila to realize the goal of an Independent Indonesia. 3) The ideologization of both values is carried out through Non-formal Education called “Kaderisasi Tahap 1”, which makes an important contribution to religion and the state.

Abstract

As an archipelago, Indonesia has a diversity of cultures, religions, and ethnicities that are both an advantage and a challenge in strengthening national integration. In the midst of increasingly rapid globalization, the implementation of Pancasila values is the main foundation for maintaining national unity. This research aims to analyze how the values of Pancasila can be applied to strengthen national integration in Indonesia. This article uses a literature study method where researchers review several articles on the Google Scholar page that are relevant to the topic. This research explains that the values contained in Pancasila need to be instilled early on by the community to face challenges and maintain national integration in diversity. The results show that the value of Belief in One God can foster tolerance between religious communities, the value of Fair and Civilized Humanity encourages empathy and respect for human rights, while Indonesian Unity is the basis for strengthening national identity. The values of Democracy and Social Justice encourage active community participation in the life of the nation and state in an inclusive manner. Several empirical studies have shown that strengthening these values through Pancasila education in schools, diversity training, and social media can increase collective awareness of the importance of national integration. The main contribution of this research is to provide conceptual and practical understanding of the implementation strategy of Pancasila values in the contemporary socio-political context of Indonesia, so that it can be used as a reference in education policy and sustainable national character building.

Abstract

This study examines the moral order of Hindus through psychological analysis proposed by Sigmund Freud with the aim of exemplifying moral considerations for Hindus and strengthening the implementation of moral teachings embodied in the literature of the Itihāsa Rāmāyaṇa, especially in Ayodhyā Kāṇḍa through the role of psychology. These teachings are part of the Tri Kerangka Dasar Agama Hindu, one of which is suśīla. Examined through the lens of modern science, suśīla can be considered a form of psychology because these teachings examine the attitudes and behaviors of followers based on religious morality. Suśīla teachings can be systematically studied through itihāsa texts, such as the Rāmāyaṇa, particularly the Ayodhyā Kāṇḍa chapter. This chapter represents the root of the problems in the story of Śrī Rāma's journey so followers can learn moral values from the characters' behavior. This qualitative study uses descriptive methods to describe and analyze the characters from the Ayodhyā Kāṇḍa story, including Mahārāja Daśaratha, Manthara, Dewi Keikeyi, Śrī Rāma, Sītā, Lakṣmana, and Bharata, through psychoanalytic theory. Specifically, it examines the three levels of human consciousness proposed by Sigmund Freud: The id, ego, and superego. The results of study is reveal the personality traits and dynamics of each character, setting an example for the humanity through their moral attitudes and considerations. This is particularly evident in characters who set aside their personal ego, such as Śrī Rāma, who was devoted to his father and willing to exile himself. Additionally, Bharata's humility in refusing to replace Śrī Rāma as king is driven by his superego's awareness of not taking what is not his. This psychoanalytic study imparts moral values to the community, such as resisting negative influences, remaining loyal, being devoted, and avoiding greed.

Abstract

Self-confidence is one of the most important things for students to have so they can participate in learning actively. Through the implementation of the Think, Talk, Write (TTW) model, it has great potential to improve self-confidence and student learning outcomes. Through critical thinking, collaborative discussions, and reflective writing, students can develop a deeper understanding of religious teachings and feel more confident in applying them in everyday life. However, despite its great potential, the application of the TTW model in the context of religious learning has not been widely researched, especially at the junior high school level and in the context of Catholic education. This study aims to improve self-confidence and student learning outcomes by using the Think, Talk, Write learning model for students of SMP Budi Murni 3 Medan. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) involving 26 students of Phase D Grades VII-2 Academic Year 2024/2025. The methods used include: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection uses observation, documentation, and assessment of test results that have been made in the form of multiple choices. The results show a significant increase in student self-confidence and learning outcomes by using the Think, Talk, Write model. Student self-confidence increased by 16.66%, and student learning outcomes improved by 22.7%. The Think, Talk, Write model has been proven to encourage student active learning, increase self-confidence, and improve student learning outcomes.
