Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve financial literacy and the independence of the manager of Toko Hawaii Alat Jahit Samarinda in conducting digital business financial recording. The main problems faced by the partner include irregular and unstructured recording of income and expenses, as well as the potential mixing of personal and business finances. The activity was carried out using a participatory training approach through initial observation, interviews, financial management education, mentoring in the use of Money Tracker, transaction recording practice, and evaluation of the partner’s ability. Changes were measured using a structured observation sheet with indicators covering understanding of financial recording, income recording, expense recording, transaction categorization, separation of personal and business finances, and the ability to read financial summaries. The results show that the partner began to understand the importance of transaction recording as a basis for business control, started to develop the habit of recording income and expenses, and became more aware of the importance of separating business and personal finances. This activity indicates that MSME financial digitalization requires not only an application but also personal mentoring that can align technology with the partner’s habits and needs.

Abstract

Kampung Wisata Kopi Sangit Bawah Langit (KSBL) in Bintan Regency is a community-based tourism village with strong potential through its distinctive local “kopi sangit” product. However, the development of this potential still faces several challenges, particularly limited product innovation, packaging design, and low community digital literacy in online marketing. This community service program aimed to improve community capacity in developing coffee-based beverage innovations and implementing social media-based digital marketing strategies. The program applied participatory and experiential learning approaches through observation, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), training sessions, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test methods. The activity was conducted on 14–15 September 2025 and involved 15 participants consisting of PKK women members and tourism village managers. The results indicated a 65% increase in participants’ understanding, especially in product innovation and digital marketing aspects. The program also produced innovative coffee-based products such as lemongrass coffee mocktails, pandan iced coffee, and herbal coffee syrup. In addition to improving technical skills, the activity strengthened participants’ creativity, entrepreneurial motivation, and community collaboration in supporting the development of the creative economy and community-based tourism in Bintan Regency.

Abstract

Financial planning amidst the uncertainty and increasingly complex challenges of life. Every individual is required to have the ability to manage their finances wisely. In the modern era, online shopping and transactions are increasingly easy, resulting in wasteful lifestyles and addictions to spending money on unnecessary expenses. The ease of online loans is hoped to provide a way out of financial problems. The increasing prevalence of online loans has led to a high default rate. A myth has emerged in society that only high-income individuals are competent in managing their money. This indicates low financial literacy, stemming from inadequate financial management practices. This research aims to discuss financial literacy regarding prioritizing needs, understanding spending habits, and how to manage salary allocation wisely. This community service activity was conducted using a webinar method packaged as a sharing session via Zoom Meeting. This sharing session was open to the public and young people including students, employees, and housewives, totaling approximately 30 participants. It is hoped that after participating in this sharing session, participants will be able to manage their finances better and achieve their desired financial goals. Thus, it is necessary to provide information regarding education on managing finances wisely so that they can take advantage of opportunities optimally without getting caught up in financial problems.

Abstract

Pancer Beach, located in Jember Regency, represents a significant coastal destination endowed with vast ecological and economic potential; however, it currently faces deleterious environmental challenges due to substantial waste accumulation. This community service initiative was designed to revitalise the environmental quality of the area, cultivate ecological consciousness among the local populace, and fortify multi-stakeholder engagement in the management of sustainable tourism. The methodology employed a systematic framework encompassing strategic coordination, direct environmental interventions, and participatory evaluation, further substantiated by pre-test and post-test measurements to quantify the project's impact. The primary activities involved the restoration of coastal vegetation through the planting of sea pines (Casuarina equisetifolia) and Tabebuia trees, alongside a collaborative beach clean-up campaign. Involving approximately 150 participants, this collective effort successfully mitigated environmental hazards by collecting between 300 and 400 kg of refuse. The results indicate a marked improvement in the aesthetic and ecological integrity of the tourist zone, complemented by a significant shift in community perception. This was evidenced by an increase in average comprehension scores from 68 to 92, while environmental awareness levels escalated from 65% to 80%. Furthermore, the initiative successfully fostered institutional synergy among various stakeholders. Ultimately, this project demonstrates that a collaborative, action-oriented approach is highly efficacious in accelerating the development of sustainable maritime tourism.

Abstract

Community-based tourism encourages tourism villages to enhance the competitiveness of local products through more innovative packaging and marketing strategies. However, most entrepreneurs in Tegaljadi Village, Tabanan Regency, continue to face limitations in product packaging, brand identity development, and the utilization of digital media as promotional tools. This community service program aimed to improve entrepreneurs’ knowledge and understanding of product packaging and digital marketing to support sustainable tourism village development. The program was conducted from March to April 2026 and involved five MSME owners as a pilot project group. A participatory approach was employed through several stages, including observation, socialization, demonstrations, practical activities, and evaluation. The results indicate that participants’ average level of understanding increased from 2.80 to 4.19, representing an improvement of 49.64%. Furthermore, 80% of the participants began utilizing social media as a promotional tool, while 80% successfully developed stronger product identities through improved packaging designs and labeling. The program also fostered collaboration between MSME actors and the local community in promoting natural honey, traditional Balinese coffee, and jaje kaliadrem as flagship products of the tourism village. These findings suggest that community-based socialization can serve as an effective strategy for enhancing the capacity of local entrepreneurs while strengthening the long-term competitiveness of tourism villages.

Abstract

The digital era and industrial competition require vocational high school (SMK) graduates to possess strong communication skills, particularly public speaking. Many students still face obstacles such as low self-confidence, glossophobia (fear of public speaking), and limited practical communication experience, so their ability to present ideas in academic settings and job preparation remains suboptimal. This community service program aims to strengthen public speaking skills of SMK Utama students especially XI through an integrated training that addresses psychological, technical, and practical aspects. The approach is grounded in experiential learning, combining lectures, simulations, hands-on practice, and constructive feedback. Implementation proceeds in stages: mental reconstruction (self-acceptance and positive affirmations), enhancement of verbal and nonverbal communication skills, and practice based on a growth mindset. Expected outcomes include increased self-efficacy, reduced public-speaking anxiety, and improved ability to deliver messages in a more structured, persuasive, and confident manner. Additionally, the program seeks to establish a school public-speaking community to foster a supportive, sustainable learning environment, thereby better equipping students with adaptive communication skills essential for entering the workforce and continuing education.
