Abstract

This research examines the role of transformational leadership in driving digitalization at Universitas Islam Bunga Bangsa Cirebon (UI BBC) in West Java, Indonesia. Private islamic universities in indonesia face challenges in adopting digital technology due to limited resources and infrastructure. However, digitalization provides a great opportunity to improve education quality and administrative efficiency. UI BBC successfully transitioned from manual to digital systems thanks to the visionary leadership of the rector who was able to motivate the academic community. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study, collecting data through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation analysis. The findings show that transformational leadership plays an important role in developing digital infrastructure and improving digital literacy. Despite budget constraints, UI BBC successfully developed an integrated learning and administration platform. This research suggests that the transformational leadership model at UI BBC is a reference for other private Islamic universities and the importance of policy support from the government.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the implementation of the Islamic dress code on character education at SMA Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya. Using a mixed-methods approach, both quantitative data from surveys and school records, and qualitative data from interviews and focus group discussions were analyzed to explore how the dress code influences student behavior, discipline, and moral development. The quantitative results indicate that 85% of students believe the Islamic dress code promotes self-discipline, with 60% reporting noticeable improvements in their personal behavior. School records also show a 15% reduction in disciplinary incidents and a 7% increase in attendance among students who adhere to the dress code. Qualitative findings reveal that teachers, students, and parents recognize the dress code as a tool for instilling Islamic values, such as respect, responsibility, and modesty. However, challenges such as peer pressure and the conflict between religious dress and fashion trends were noted as significant factors in students' adherence to the dress code. The study highlights the role of the school environment, including the collaboration between teachers, students, and parents, in fostering character education through the dress code. This research contributes to understanding how Islamic dress codes can serve as a practical tool in character development and offers insights for improving the implementation of character education programs in Islamic schools.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between cognitive styles, gender, and academic performance among PGMI students, with the aim of enhancing instructional strategies. The purpose is to explore how field-independent and field-dependent cognitive styles, in conjunction with gender, influence students' academic outcomes in the Basic Social Sciences course. Employing an ex post facto research design, the study used stratified random sampling to select undergraduate students, categorized by cognitive style and gender. Cognitive styles were assessed using the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT), while academic performance was measured through students' grades in the course. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, including a two-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), were conducted to identify significant differences and interactions between the variables. The results indicate that field-independent students generally outperform their field-dependent peers in independent learning tasks, while gender differences reveal that male students prefer self-directed learning, while female students favor more structured guidance. The study concludes that incorporating differentiated teaching methods that address both cognitive styles and gendered learning preferences is essential for creating an inclusive learning environment that supports all students’ academic success. These findings offer valuable insights for educators in designing more effective and personalized learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of integrating local-wisdom-based visual technology into the DACAR learning model (Description, Analysis, Story, Reflection) to enhance cognitive and creative abilities in early childhood. Conducted at TK ABA 69 Surabaya with 27 children aged 5–6 years, this research employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design. Seven indicators of cognitive and creative development were assessed using a 1–3–5 scoring rubric. Data were collected through observation and task-based instruments and analyzed using paired t-tests for normally distributed data or Wilcoxon Matched-Pairs Tests if normality was not met. Descriptive statistics and visualizations complemented the analysis. Results showed that while posttest scores improved across all indicators, only one—children’s ability to ask relevant questions—demonstrated statistically significant improvement (median = 0.5; CI = 0.5–1; p < 0.05). Other indicators, such as curiosity, analysis, connection to prior experience, creative output, imagination, and local culture recognition, showed nonsignificant changes (median = 0–0.5; p > 0.05). These findings indicate that visual technology effectively supports contextual questioning but is insufficient to foster higher-order thinking and creativity within a short intervention period. Contributing factors include prior familiarity with local culture and limited learning duration. This study recommends expanding assessment tools, applying project-based learning, and integrating digital–physical media to better stimulate exploration, critical thinking, and creativity in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a competency-based andragogy training model to improve the digital technology competence of teachers at the Cianjur Regency Mover School. In the digital era, teachers' digital competence is very important, but initial observations show that many teachers still have difficulty in mastering learning technology. The competency-based training model with an andragogy approach is considered effective because it is tailored to the needs and experiences of adult participants. This study uses a qualitative approach with a systematic ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation studies. The results of the study showed that most teachers were aware of the importance of digital technology, but needed further support in mastering digital learning applications and media. The development of a competency-based training model is expected to accelerate digital transformation in education. This study provides theoretical and practical contributions to the development of competency-based and andragogy teacher training policies in the digital era.
