Abstract

Collaboration between parents and teachers is key to optimizing the success of children's education, considering that education takes place both at home and at school. This study aims to describe the supporting and inhibiting factors of collaboration between teachers and parents at Ar-Rohmah KB Playgroup. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that there are three main factors in realizing collaboration between teachers and parents, namely effective communication, parental involvement at home, and field trip activities. In addition, there are supporting factors for collaboration, including the communication system and trust between parents and teachers. On the other hand, the inhibiting factors include the limited time of parents who are busy with work and sudden changes in the collaboration schedule. This research provides novelty by highlighting the importance of structural approaches in collaboration between teachers and parents. The practical impact of this research is to provide recommendations for educational institutions to strengthen such collaboration, in order to support optimal early childhood development.

Abstract

The current research aims to describe teachers’ understanding and constraints of global diversity character learning in early childhood education (ECE), especially at the kindergarten level (educational services for children aged 4 – 6 years) seen from several factors, namely: a) kindergarten teachers' understanding of the global diversity concept; b) use of global diversity teaching materials; c) types of global diversity teaching materials; and d) content of global diversity teaching materials. This study is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through surveys, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The respondents of this study were 55 kindergarten teachers at School Mover who were members of IGTKI Central Java. The data analysis technique used was the Miles and Huberman interactive technique, which included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, conclusion, and data verification. The validity and reliability tests showed that this questionnaire item was valid and reliable. The results show that the majority of kindergarten teachers have a good understanding of the concept of global diversity dimension, use various types and forms of relevant teaching materials, the teaching materials used are from various trusted and varied references, and the content of the teaching materials has met the key elements of global diversity. However, teachers still experience obstacles in teaching materials because the existing teaching materials are less interesting for children. This study suggests the presence of more interesting teaching materials in the form of flipbooks, as flipbooks stimulate children's interest in learning global diversity characters.

Abstract

In the face of increasingly complex educational challenges, there is a growing demand for leadership models that integrate ethical and humanistic values, particularly in Islamic elementary schools. This study explores the operationalisation of kindness-based leadership at MI Fitrah Insani, Leles, Garut, as a strategic response to the limitations of performance-oriented and hierarchical leadership paradigms. This study addresses the gaps in the literature regarding the implementation of ethical leadership grounded in Islamic values by examining how empathy, participatory communication, and ethical responsibility shape school culture and educational quality. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and a document analysis. Triangulation of these methods enabled a comprehensive understanding of institutional dynamics, leadership practices, and their impact on school climate, teacher motivation, and student engagement. The findings reveal that kindness-based leadership at MI Fitrah Insani fosters an emotionally safe and inclusive school environment. Through participatory decision-making, structured communication, and consistent appreciation practices, the leadership model contributes to improved teacher loyalty, pedagogical innovation, and heightened student participation. Despite structural, cultural, and operational barriers such as bureaucratic rigidity and limited professional development, adaptive strategies, including ethical leadership training, policy reform, and digital communication platforms, have enhanced the effectiveness and sustainability of this model. This study concludes that kindness-oriented leadership is not merely a normative ideal but a transformative practice that aligns with Islamic ethical traditions and addresses the academic and moral dimensions of education. The findings offer practical implications for Islamic schools seeking to cultivate character-driven and ethically grounded leadership.

Abstract

The teaching materials for Arabic used in formal educational institutions for Arabic Language Foreign (ALF) students are typically in the form of textbooks that have been predetermined and have not been supplemented with additional materials designed according to current needs and contexts. The purpose of this study is to analyze the creativity of Arabic students in designing teaching materials to be used in Arabic language learning at educational institutions for ALF and to describe the learning process of the course Tathwir Mawaad li Al-Lughah Al-Arabiyah based on an outcome approach. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method, analyzing 120 student project outcomes and conducting interviews with 7 participants. The results of the study show that Arabic students possess creativity in designing Arabic teaching materials in both digital and non-digital formats. This creativity is strongly supported by the learning process carried out by the course instructors of Tathwir Mawaad li Al-Lughah Al-Arabiyyah through Project-Based Learning (PjBL). The Tathwir Mawaad li Al-Lughah Al-Arabiyyah course in the Arabic Language Education Program at UIN Ar-Raniry has successfully guided students to develop creativity in designing diverse Arabic teaching materials suited to contemporary contexts for use by ALF in educational institutions. This study contributes to the development of an outcome-based curriculum and provides insights for enhancing Arabic language teacher training programs, particularly in fostering creativity and contextual material design.

Abstract

The integration of immersive technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) has changed the paradigm of administration in colleges. This technology has been proven to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the stakeholder experience in various aspects, such as student enrollment, staff training, resource management, and virtual collaboration. This article evaluates the potential of AR and VR in simplifying administrative workflows, with a particular focus on Islamic colleges. Based on an analysis of 25 scientific sources, this article examines case studies, technological frameworks, and ethical considerations. The research highlights the importance of alignment with Islamic principles such as justice ('adl), benefits (maslahah), and morals. Challenges identified include implementation costs, limited access, technological literacy, and cultural resistance. In response, a number of recommendations were presented to support effective and sustainable adoption. The limitation of this research lies in the fact that no direct empirical tests have been conducted in Islamic higher education institutions, so the findings are still conceptual. This article offers a comprehensive starting framework for the use of immersive technology in creating an efficient, equitable, and contextual system of administration of cultural and religious values.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how Islamic values are integrated into the environmental school culture within the Adiwiyata program and to analyze the internal challenges in value internalization that affect the formation of students' ecological character. Employing a qualitative multicase study approach, data were collected from two Adiwiyata schools—MAN 1 Lamongan and SMAN 1 Lamongan—through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving 26 purposively selected participants. The findings reveal that core Islamic values such as tauhid, khalifah, amanah, and ihsan are embedded in school culture through a three-layered model of organizational culture (basic assumptions, espoused values, and artifacts). Moreover, the study identifies a seven-stage integrative process of value internalization—from establishing foundational beliefs to engaging with external stakeholders—which facilitates a transformative and sustainable environmental culture in schools. Despite these efforts, challenges persist, particularly in aligning symbolic practices with deeper spiritual consciousness among teachers and students. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of an Islamic-based educational model for environmental character formation by proposing a contextual and replicable framework that bridges spirituality, institutional culture, and ecological pedagogy. Practically, the model offers strategic guidance for Islamic schools and policymakers to foster value-based environmental programs that extend beyond administrative compliance toward long-term behavioral change.
