Abstract

The history of Islam is important to study in order to achieve greatness; Islamic civilization advanced rapidly during the Abbasid, Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal periods in fields of science, governance, culture, and education. This article discusses the formation, progress, and decline of the civilizations of the three great Islamic empires: Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal. The writing uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature study method. Research Findings: The Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal Sultanates were three major Islamic empires that flourished between the 13th and 18th centuries. The Ottomans reached their peak under Muhammad Al-Fatih and Suleiman the Magnificent, marked by dominant military and cultural power. The Safavids emerged from a Shia Sufi order and thrived under Abbas I through religious tolerance and artistic development. The Mughal Empire in India, founded by Babur, experienced its golden age during Akbar’s reign, known for tolerance, education, and the arts. Despite eventual decline due to internal and external conflicts, their architectural and cultural legacies remain significant today. Conclusion: The greatness of the three Islamic empires of the 17th century was formed through historical processes, achieved progress, but ultimately declined due to various internal and external factors.

Abstract

Conventional and Islamic banks in Indonesia have begun implementing sustainable finance, but its application remains limited in terms of quality, risk integration, and lacks support from harmonized regulations. This research aims to explain the implementation of sustainable finance policies by Islamic and conventional banks to support environmentally friendly businesses and minimize environmental damage. The research method is qualitative, using a literature study and normative juridical approach, with a descriptive-analytical method. Research results: This study shows that the implementation of sustainable finance policies in Indonesia is carried out using different but complementary approaches between Islamic banks and conventional banks. Islamic banks adjust their practices based on Sharia principles and maqasid al-sharia, while conventional banks focus more on general regulations and sustainable business strategies. Conventional banks tend to be more aggressive in financing large sectors such as infrastructure, whereas Islamic banks prioritize supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises as well as environmentally friendly projects. Although regulations have been implemented, challenges such as limited understanding and uneven implementation remain, highlighting the need to strengthen synergy between regulation, education, and collaboration. Conclusion: Sustainable finance policies in Indonesia integrate economic, social, and environmental aspects, but their implementation is still focused on profit and green building.

Abstract

Children are a trust that require father-mother parenting aligned with the times, to prevent the impacts of fatherlessness and shape the character of today’s generation. This study explores the implementation of the fathering concept in child-rearing during the pandemic. It employs a qualitative method using a literature study approach. The research sources include the Qur'an (tafsir), books, and school documents. Findings: The phenomenon of fatherlessness has negative effects on children, such as the loss of security, increased school absenteeism, cognitive decline, a higher risk of depression, antisocial behavior, and both physical and psychological distress. To address this, the father's role must be strengthened by implementing positive fatherly values, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. These values include being a role model, applying consistent parenting habits, giving loving advice, creating a supportive environment, showing wisdom, and always praying for the child's well-being and development. Conclusion: The father's active role is essential in child-rearing to prevent the negative impact of fatherlessness, particularly during the pandemic

Abstract

Divorce increases every year, and hadhanah is essential to maintain balanced child custody in accordance with Islamic law and the principle of prioritizing benefit (maslahah). The purpose of this study is to explain and describe hadhanah in depth. The research uses qualitative methods with a literature study approach, employing documentation for data collection, data reduction, and presentation for processing, and ensuring validity through source triangulation. This study reveals that the implementation of hadhanah (child custody) in Indonesia has moved beyond purely normative considerations, such as gender or lineage, and now prioritizes the principle of the best interests of the child. Judges increasingly take into account the child’s psychological well-being, the emotional and financial capacity of the guardian, and the stability of the post-divorce environment. The research highlights the need to reinterpret classical fiqh in light of contemporary social contexts. Thus, the findings promote a more adaptive approach to Islamic law one that ensures holistic protection for children in hadhanah cases. Conclusion: This study provides positive insight for parents in educating their children after divorce.

Abstract

Studying Islamic history is essential to understanding its rise and decline, including the roles of education, intellectual thought, and leadership, as valuable lessons for Muslims in facing contemporary challenges. The purpose of this study is to explain and describe the rise and decline of the Muslim community. The research was conducted through a literature review, with data sources including articles, books, magazines, and news reports. This qualitative study employed a library research method with data collection techniques based on document analysis. Findings show that the decline of Islamic civilization was caused by internal factors such as the closure of the gate of ijtihad, sectarian conflicts, poverty, and weakening solidarity. External factors like Western imperialism, Zionism, and capitalism further worsened the condition. Meanwhile, Europe’s rise in science and technology was greatly influenced by Islamic civilization, particularly from Muslim Spain. Muslim scholars such as Ibn Rushd and Ibn Sina made significant contributions to the European Renaissance. Salahuddin al-Ayyubi became a symbol of just and wise leadership, bringing Islamic glory through his courage, commitment to justice, and defense of the people. Conclusion: Studying Islamic history has a positive impact on Muslims, especially in strengthening their piety.
