Abstract

TThe LGBT phenomenon triggers both support and opposition, especially in Muslim-majority countries. Some nations legalize same-sex marriage. In Indonesia, rejection of LGBT arises through regulations and psychological efforts. This study aims to explore LGBT Muslims in Muslim communities more deeply. This research is a literature review, where all data sources are analyzed thoroughly. The results of the study reveal various perceptions within society regarding LGBT behavior. Reasons provided by different parties, including LGBT activists and individuals, contribute to the growing debate. Some oppose LGBT behavior, arguing it contradicts religious, cultural, and societal norms, while others support it as a form of freedom to express one’s rights. Conclusion: The LGBT issue sparks both support and opposition, especially in Muslim-majority countries, with rejection in Indonesia through regulations and psychological efforts.

Abstract

Phenomenology emphasizes the understanding of religion through direct, prejudice-free, and neutral experiences. This approach seeks to uncover authentic meaning, going beyond preconceived ideas and limiting cultural frameworks. The aim of this study is to explain the application of the phenomenological approach in understanding religious phenomena by prioritizing religious experiences as they truly are. This research employs a literature study method with data collection techniques in the form of documentation, including analysis of literature related to phenomenological theory and practice within the context of religion. Research Findings: The phenomenological approach has two main characteristics: first, understanding another person’s religion from a neutral perspective and then attempting to reconfigure that religion based on the individual’s personal experiences and preferences. Second, a taxonomic framework should be developed to classify religious and cultural community phenomena. The true focus of religious phenomenology is the exploration of the essence, meaning, and fundamental structure of religious experience. Human religious experience possesses an irreducible essence that forms the basic structure of human religion. The phenomenological approach can be introduced in Islamic studies as an acceptable method for exploring Islam and includes practical examples commonly encountered in daily life. Conclusion: The phenomenological approach explains religious experience in a neutral, profound, and practical way to understand the essence and fundamental structure of human religion.

Abstract

The use of the internet has triggered the rise of cyberbullying among adolescents, leading to severe emotional impacts. This study examines strategies for preventing and handling such threats in schools to protect students from such threats. The research method is a literature review, with data collection through documentation techniques. Data analysis is done through reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings: To prevent cyberbullying, schools can implement awareness programs, integrate digital ethics into the curriculum, and offer teacher training. Open communication between schools, parents, and students is essential for identifying and addressing cyberbullying. Developing social skills, empathy, and conflict resolution also helps students manage online behavior, fostering a safer digital environment. Handling cyberbullying cases requires clear reporting procedures, thorough investigations, and fair sanctions. Schools should provide emotional support to victims and integrate anti-cyberbullying education. Teachers and staff must support victims while enforcing strict measures for perpetrators. Parents play a key role by supervising online activities, providing emotional support, and collaborating with schools to address and prevent cyberbullying effectively. Conclusion: Collaboration among schools, teachers, parents, and students is essential in preventing cyberbullying through emotional support, digital education, and reporting procedures.

Abstract

Humans are endowed with reason and divine revelation as guidance for implementing Sharia law. A mujtahid resolves conflicting pieces of evidence (ta’arudh al-adillah) through methods such as al-jam’u (reconciliation), tarjih (preference), nasakh (abrogation), or tawaquf (suspension), depending on the school of thought and theological context. This study aims to examine the methods of al-jam’u wa at-taufiq and nasakh to understand how Islamic scholars, particularly from the Shafi’i and Hanafi schools, resolve contradictions between evidence. This research adopts a qualitative approach, using literature review methods to analyze sources and data on resolving conflicting evidence in Islamic law. The study finds that among the methods offered is an attempt to gather and reconcile seemingly contradictory evidence to reach a balanced ruling. This method is known as al-jam’u wa at-taufiq. Additionally, nasakhis were employed, which involves the annulment or replacement of one evidence with another, focusing on the chronological order of revelation. Conclusion: Al-jam’u wa at-taufiq reconciles conflicting evidence without nullifying either, while nasakh abrogates previous rulings for public interest, based on the sequence of revelation and God's will.

Abstract

The lack of focus on real business practices and intensive industry partnerships is a major weakness in the current entrepreneurship model at Islamic Higher Education institutions. This study aims to identify an ideal model of entrepreneurship education in higher education. It adopts a qualitative paradigm with a descriptive survey technique, focusing on the State Islamic Institute of Lhokseumawe. This study shows that entrepreneurship education in higher education builds an adaptive ecosystem that enhances graduates' skills, character, and competitiveness, particularly through the Islamic Entrepreneurial Campus and the Independent Learning Independent Campus program. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of the Independent Learning concept with a practical and collaborative entrepreneurship model, emphasizing the development of hard and soft skills aligned with real industry needs. This model introduces curriculum innovation, business partnerships, and direct business activities by students, thereby strengthening market readiness, fostering a culture of innovation, and helping to address unemployment through a holistic and applicable approach. In conclusion, the Independent Learning Independent Campus program supports innovative entrepreneurship programs through entrepreneurial leadership, formal and informal learning, and campus-community partnerships to enhance economic growth and social welfare.

Abstract

Studies on the structured process of Islamic religious counseling for the socio-religious development of the elderly remain limited, particularly regarding counseling mechanisms and social interactions within routine preaching activities. This study examines the role of Islamic religious counselors in supporting the spiritual and social development of the elderly to become more independent, spiritually active, and mentally healthy. Using a qualitative descriptive method, this field research collected data through interviews, observations, and analysis to conclude. The findings reveal that Islamic religious counseling at Majelis Ta’lim An-Nisa is conducted in a structured and systematic manner, with the strategic role of the ustadz who integrates the dakwah methods of Bil-Hikmah and Mauizhatul-Hasanah. This approach effectively enhances the spirituality and mental health of the elderly. Additionally, elderly motivation, positive social interactions, and engaging preaching methods are key factors supporting the success of socio-religious development in the elderly, which have been underexplored in previous research on religious counseling for seniors. In conclusion, religious counseling for the elderly includes sholawat, dzikir, sermons, pilgrimages, and the strengthening of spirituality and social interactions within the religious community.
