Abstract

TTeachers' psychological security impacts educational quality, yet few studies examine its relationship with professional performance in Kurdistan's educational context. This study investigates the relationship between psychological security and professional performance among Zakho's basic education teachers across various demographic factors. Using correlational-descriptive approaches, 100 randomly selected teachers completed Maslow's Security Scale and a standardized Professional Performance Scale with five-point measurements. Results revealed high levels of psychological security and professional performance among teachers. Statistical analysis showed no significant differences in psychological security across gender, age, or years of service. However, professional performance varied significantly with years of service, with teachers having 31-40 years of experience demonstrating superior performance compared to other groups. The study established a significant positive correlation (r=0.512, p<0.01) between psychological security and professional performance, indicating that teachers with stronger psychological security tend to demonstrate more effective professional performance in educational settings. Enhancing teachers' psychological well-being represents a crucial strategy for improving teaching effectiveness and educational quality in basic education

Abstract

TBody image dissatisfaction and increasing interest in cosmetic procedures present significant psychosocial challenges among contemporary university students. This study examined body image satisfaction levels, areas of physical dissatisfaction, and attitudes toward plastic surgery among University of Zakho students. A descriptive survey approach collected data from 49 students (28 males, 21 females) using a validated 10-item questionnaire measuring satisfaction and attitudes. Analysis revealed hierarchical patterns of body dissatisfaction, with the nose being most dissatisfying facial feature (91.8% reported some facial dissatisfaction), followed by hair. The chest area generated highest body dissatisfaction (80% of those reporting body issues), followed by abdomen/buttocks. Students strongly perceived increased prevalence of cosmetic procedures (67.3% agreed "to a large extent") and acknowledged significant media influence (69.4%). While recognizing plastic surgery as necessary for others (particularly women), 65.3% expressed unwillingness to pursue such interventions personally, even if cost-free. Statistical analyses found no significant differences in attitudes based on gender or age variables. Findings suggest educational institutions should implement body image programs while regulatory frameworks ensure plastic surgeries address genuine needs rather than reinforcing unrealistic standards.

Abstract

Ulum al-Qur'an is essential for understanding the Qur'an comprehensively, responding to contemporary challenges, and contextualizing its interpretation in light of historical, social, and technological developments. This research explores the Ulum al-Qur'an concept and its relevance in modern Islamic studies. A literature review method examines various primary and secondary sources related to Ulum al-Qur'an. The results show that Ulum al-Qur'an is a collection of sciences that discuss all aspects related to the Qur'an, such as revelation, compilation, recitation, exegesis (tafsir), tajwid, qira’at, abrogation (nasikh-mansukh), and textual criticism. Scholars such as Al-Qaththan, Al-Zarqani, and Ash-Shabuny emphasize the broad scope of these disciplines. In the contemporary context, Ulum al-Qur'an is essential for addressing modern challenges, preserving the text's authenticity, enhancing contextual understanding, and enriching academic Islamic studies. It also encourages a rational approach to interpreting the Qur’an and fosters constructive interfaith dialogue. Conclusion: Ulum al-Qur'an preserves the purity of Islamic teachings, addresses modern challenges, and bridges Islamic tradition with social context through rational and contextual approaches.

Abstract

The integration of Islam and science in pesantren education is now developing with a transdisciplinary approach using digital technology, such as digital libraries and management systems, to support its practical implementation. This study aims to describe the integration pattern between Islam and science and identify its implementation at Al-Khoirot Islamic Boarding School in Malang. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through literature review, participatory observation, in-depth interviews with pesantren administrators, staff, and students, and document analysis, then analysed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results show that the integration of Islam and science at Al-Khoirot pesantren has been successfully applied in several specific areas. This integration is reflected in three main sectors: mapping multidisciplinary educational institutions combining religious studies with science, developing religious literature through an integrated digital library, and utilising digital technology platforms to market products created by students and alumni. However, challenges arise during implementation, including limited human resources, difficulties designing an Islam-science integration curriculum, and technical and infrastructure problems. Conclusion: Implementing Islam and science integration through the digital library faces challenges related to methodology, infrastructure, and digital literacy, thus requiring intensive guidance and a strong curriculum to overcome them.

Abstract

The main issue lies in the lack of empirical studies on the dual leadership practices of ulama and traditional leaders in the management of Islamic education in Mandailing Natal, particularly concerning the integration of local cultural values. This study explores the dynamics of Islamic education management in Mandailing Natal, Indonesia, emphasising the integration of local cultural values and traditional leadership. Employing a qualitative ethnographic case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and institutional document analysis. The findings reveal a contextual and culturally-rooted model of Islamic education management in Mandailing Natal, where ulama function as religious leaders and customary authorities. Integrating indigenous values such as dalihan na tolu, hasuhutan, and marsialap ari into the educational system positions pesantren and madrasah as cultural preservation and character education centres. The collective leadership and participatory local curriculum demonstrate an organic and resilient management model, offering a culturally grounded alternative to the often centralised and homogenised Islamic education system. Conclusion: Integrating local culture into the governance of pesantren and madrasah enhances institutional relevance and provides a new perspective on educational leadership that merges religious authority with cultural legitimacy.

Abstract

The English communication competence of Madrasah Aliyah students remains low due to speaking anxiety, limited vocabulary, lack of authentic practice, and a social environment that does not support English language culture. This study analyses the relationship between innovative learning management based on the Love-Based Curriculum (KBC) and students' English communication competence. A quantitative correlational approach was employed by distributing questionnaires to 40 students. Data analysis using SPSS revealed a correlation coefficient of 0.872 and a determination value of 0.761, indicating a powerful positive relationship with a contribution of 76.1%. These findings confirm that love-based learning effectively creates a safe and supportive classroom environment, reduces speaking anxiety, and increases students' confidence in expressing ideas in English. The study implies a necessary shift in teachers' roles to become value facilitators and holistic development mentors. In conclusion, implementing KBC strengthens English competence while fostering character development, collaboration, and intercultural communication skills essential in the global era.

Abstract

Conventional methods for teaching Qur'anic memorisation (tahfizh) remain limited in accommodating the diverse learning styles of students and lack integration of modern learning theories that are more creative and engaging. This study aims to propose a novel concept for teaching Qur'anic memorisation by applying Hemisphere Theory, Multiple Intelligences, and Mind Mapping to address existing gaps in knowledge. The research methodology employed a descriptive-analytical approach through a literature review, gathering primary and secondary data from books, journals, and scholarly documents, followed by data analysis, interpretation, and generalisation. The findings reveal that this study presents an innovative approach to Qur'anic memorisation by comprehensively integrating modern learning concepts that had not been previously applied. The primary advantage lies in the combined application of Multiple Intelligences, Brain Hemisphere Theory, and Mind Mapping within the tahfizh process. This method is designed to be more understandable, enjoyable, and suitable for various age groups, distinguishing it from conventional methods, which tend to be rigid and less engaging. This approach emphasises rote memorisation and enhances students' comprehension and memory retention more creatively and adaptively tailored to individual needs. In conclusion, the innovation of Qur'anic learning methods incorporating modern theories such as Brain Hemisphere, Multiple Intelligences, and Mind Mapping is essential to overcome boredom, increase comfort, and encourage more in-depth research in the future.
