Abstract

Mental health in the workplace is essential because it can affect employees' performance and productivity. One effective strategy to maintain mental health in the workplace is developing dispositional mindfulness in employees. This study aimed to describe dispositional mindfulness as an internal resource of employees in a railway transportation service provider in Jakarta, Indonesia. The study highlights mindfulness as a dispositional trait influencing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functions, enhancing stress management, work performance, relationships, and overall well-being. The authors used a survey method to distribute the Dispositional Mindfulness at Work Scale to 357 employees in supervisory positions through quota sampling. Data analysis, conducted using SPSS 21.0, revealed that respondents generally exhibited strong dispositional mindfulness, with significant differences based on age and education level. Among the components of mindfulness, awareness emerged as the dominant trait, followed by acceptance, attention, and present focus. These findings suggest that management can implement mindfulness programs to enhance work performance and service quality. This study contributes to the literature on mindfulness in organizational settings, particularly within the railway transportation sector.

Abstract

The Kubu tribe life is governed by the rules, norms and customs that apply in accordance with their belief. With these conditions, the problem which need to be discussed is how to acculturate modern civilization in the Kubu tribe. This research method is descriptive qualitative, the research intended to investigate the circumstances, conditions or other things that have been mentioned, the results of which are presented in the form of research reports. In this study, data were obtained from interviews with community leaders, traditional leaders, and the Kubu community. The results show that the implementation of acculturation of modern civilization in the Kubu Tribe is approaching the Kubu Tribe group, because they are still ashamed and inferior about mingling with the outside community. One strategy used by community leaders in introducing modern civilization to the Kubu tribe groups is approaching and providing counseling and model community life patterns as usual such as providing counseling in the fields of law, politic, education, religion, trading and introducing other community cultures. Unfortunately, the percentage of the allocation of funds for the empowerment of Kubu tribe is still relatively small compared to other social problems such as unemployment, homeless people and education problems.

Abstract

Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Tourism in Tanjung Lesung is a distinct advantage because it can provide promising business development potential. However, this potential is less than optimal due to the condition of village officials to develop tourist villages in the vicinity, or SEZ supporting areas, namely Tanjung Jaya Village, not running optimally. This research uses a qualitative method by conducting a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the Tanjung Jaya Village Head, Panimbang District Secretary, the POKDARWIS Chair, and several other village officials who can make the supporting area better. The results obtained based on the FGD are by developing Human Resources (HR) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and making the people of Tanjung Jaya Village aware of the need for tourism in the SEZ supporting area. The other result was a lack of training for staff or owners of MSMEs. The program that will be provided in the future is HR training on soft skills to POKDARWIS members, Tourism Village Managers, and Banten West Java (BWJ) as a Company Social Responsibility (CSR) program. So that later the POKDARWIS, Tourism Village Managers can provide input or explanations and retrain the people of Tanjung Jaya Village.

Abstract

Indonesia has a population of 270 million people and will face tough challenges in obtaining Sustainable Development Goals, especially related to Responsible Consumption and Production (RCP). The Indonesian government created a National Action Plan to achieve sustainable consumption and production patterns, namely increasing economic welfare, reducing resource use, and improving quality of life. To accelerate the call for RCP, encouraging the role of the younger generation to participate in implementing the best of green economic practices is the right strategy. This research is intended to get an overview of the extent to which the younger generation wants to participate from a behavioral angle (green economy consumers). Respondents involved in the study were 229 young people from various regions in Indonesia. Interesting results were obtained from the research model, indicating that intention strongly influences behavior and impacts willingness to participate using the SEM-Lisrel analysis. However, the awakening of intentions among the younger generation is mostly influenced by positive attitudes, while the norms and perceptions do not show strong indications of their influence. These findings form a strong basis for the development of behavioral research that can answer the research gap involving the younger generation to act as green consumers in a proven way. The younger generation can be environmentally responsible consumers by using eco-friendly products.
