Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of mass media coverage on the Rohingya conflict and how media framing influences the response of Indonesian society. Using a qualitative approach through documentation studies, this research examines reports from various prominent online media such as Kompas.com, CNN.com, Liputan6.com, Detik.com, and BBC Indonesia. The analysis results show that mass media play a strategic role in shaping public perception through different framings, ranging from humanitarian framing, human rights violations, to security and rejection aspects. The dominant humanitarian framing successfully increases empathy and solidarity among Indonesians toward Rohingya refugees, while negative framing has the potential to cause tension and rejection. Furthermore, the media also influence public opinion regarding government policies related to conflict management. This study emphasizes the importance of mass media in constructing balanced and responsible narratives to encourage constructive social responses and support human rights protection.

Abstract

Konen is a ritual prayer to ancestors practiced by the community in Numponi Village, East Malaka District, Malaka Regency. This qualitative research uses observation, interviews, and literature study. The findings reveal three key aspects. First, the word konen derives from onen in the Dawan language, meaning “prayer.” It is a traditional ceremony led by the tribal chief to request guidance, blessings, and protection from ancestral spirits through God. Rituals vary depending on the occasion—such as corn harvest, marriage, or migration. Second, the konen ritual takes place in a traditional house with offerings including a rooster, betel nut, areca nut, and candles. The rooster is sacrificed as an offering to ancestors in gratitude. Third, the symbolic meaning of konen lies in the offerings, which represent gratitude and serve as a spiritual link between the living and ancestral spirits. These symbols are believed to summon ancestral spirits who may grant the requests presented during the ritual. Konen is a cultural expression of faith, gratitude, and connection to ancestral heritage, reinforcing the tribe’s cultural and spiritual identity.

Abstract

This research discusses the challenges faced by school principals and teachers in the implementation of supervision in the educational environment. Supervision has an important role in improving the quality of teaching and teacher professionalism, but it is often constrained by limited resources, administrative burdens, policy changes, and limited information technology competencies. In addition, teachers often face pressure and resistance to supervision that can hinder the achievement of the goal of improving the quality of learning. Through a literature review, this study identifies strategies that can overcome these challenges, such as the use of technology to support administrative tasks, supervision training for principals, and the application of collaborative and reflective approaches. It is hoped that the findings of this study can provide practical recommendations in creating a more effective supervision process and supporting the improvement of the quality of education in schools.

Abstract

Keluarga memainkan peran penting dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran dan pemahaman seseorang terhadap orang lain. Namun, faktor-faktor kontemporer seperti kesibukan orang tua dan dampak teknologi digital menyebabkan komunikasi keluarga menjadi kurang baik. Dalam artikel ini, kami akan membahas bagaimana bercerita, atau kegiatan bercerita, dapat menjadi alat yang efektif untuk meningkatkan empati dan ikatan emosional antar anggota keluarga. Penelitian ini menganalisis berbagai teori dan hasil empiris melalui metode studi literatur. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa cerita, selain berfungsi sebagai media hiburan, juga dapat berfungsi sebagai cara untuk berkomunikasi secara aman, reflektif, dan edukatif. Penyebaran cerita memungkinkan simulasi mental, yang membantu orang merasakan perasaan orang lain, membentuk tempat diskusi yang intim, dan menanamkan nilai-nilai keluarga secara mendalam. Jadi, cerita dapat digunakan sebagai metode komunikasi keluarga yang kontekstual dan aplikatif untuk mengatasi masalah dalam hubungan antar generasi di zaman sekarang..

Abstract

The life of students in the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) is unique because it is bound by rules and education systems that are closed, structured, and have a high level of confidentiality. This situation often creates communication distance between students and their families, especially in terms of information disclosure and limited interaction time. This research aims to examine communication methods that can be applied by learners in establishing healthy and effective relationships with their families. The approach used is a literature study of various journals, books, and scientific articles relevant to interpersonal communication, family communication, and communication in military or intelligence institutions. The results of the analysis show that the use of assertive, empathic, and adaptive communication is the main key in maintaining harmonious relationships. In addition, the importance of emotional support from the family is also a supporting factor for students' academic and psychological success. Communication that is reciprocal, open within certain limits, and carried out consistently can strengthen emotional bonds even in situations full of limitations. This article recommends the importance of interpersonal communication training for learners, as well as briefing families on the characteristics of education in the BIN environment.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning motivation of students in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject due to the use of conventional learning methods that are less interesting and the minimal use of interactive media. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of Canva-based interactive multimedia in improving the learning motivation of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Gondoriyo 01. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with three main stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, while data validity is obtained through source triangulation. The research subjects were 26 students. The results of the study showed that the use of Canva-based interactive multimedia was proven to be feasible and effective in the learning process. This media is able to attract students' attention, increase involvement in learning activities, and generate intrinsic motivation to understand IPAS material more deeply. Therefore, the use of Canva as an interactive learning media is recommended to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically analyze the current literature on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business education, especially in the context of entrepreneurship. Through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to scientific articles published between 2022 and 2025 from various academic databases such as Elsevier, Emerald, and Google Scholar, this study identifies and synthesizes ten key roles of AI in transforming business education. These roles include improving the ability to identify business opportunities, facilitating the development of innovative ideas, supporting strategic business planning, personalizing learning experiences, providing personalized guidance and mentoring, enabling realistic business simulations, accelerating the validation of business ideas, supporting the development of business incubators, increasing the efficiency of assignment assessments, and encouraging ethical and sustainable thinking. The results of the literature analysis show that AI offers significant potential in improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of entrepreneurship learning. However, successful implementation of AI requires a comprehensive transformation of the educational paradigm, including curriculum updates, training of educators, and attention to ethical, regulatory, and cultural issues. This study provides a clear and structured overview of the contribution of AI in business education, identifies challenges and opportunities, and formulates recommendations for inclusive and sustainable AI integration.

Abstract

Merdeka learning is a goal of the Merdeka Curriculum to improve student skills, create technology-based learning, create innovation in learning and integrate 21st century learning. One aspect of integrating the 21st century is the use of innovative digital learning media using Canva. With Canva, the presentation of the material certainly has an impact on student motivation. With motivation, students are eager to learn and the expected results will be realised. Bringing motivation in students is an important aspect in learning Indonesian.

Abstract

Waste management is a critical issue in urban environmental management, especially in Pekanbaru, which faces challenges related to the increasing volume of waste due to population growth and urbanization. This study aims to analyze the role of the Environmental Agency (Dinas Lingkungan Hidup - DLH) of Pekanbaru in waste management and the effectiveness of policies implemented to reduce and manage waste in the city. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, field observations, and a review of waste management policy documents. The research informants include officials from the Environmental Agency, waste management staff, and members of the community involved in cleanliness programs. The findings indicate that the role of DLH is crucial in waste management, but several challenges remain, such as the lack of waste sorting facilities at the household level, low community participation, and budget limitations for sustainable waste management programs. Nevertheless, some policies, such as community education and the development of waste management infrastructure, have shown positive results, although further evaluation and improvement are needed. This study recommends better coordination among relevant agencies, increased community participation, and greater budget allocation to support more effective waste management in Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Urban environmental management has become an important issue in modern times, particularly in Pekanbaru, a city experiencing rapid growth and high levels of urbanization. This study aims to analyze public policy-based environmental management in Pekanbaru, focusing on the effectiveness of policies implemented by the local government to preserve environmental sustainability. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with government officials, environmental experts, and local residents, as well as a review of relevant policy documents. The findings indicate that although existing environmental management policies are relatively comprehensive, there are several challenges in their implementation, including a lack of public awareness, limited funding, and suboptimal coordination between sectors. Therefore, this study recommends improvements in inter-agency coordination, increased public participation, and regular evaluations of policies to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of environmental management in Pekanbaru. In this way, public policy-based environmental management is expected to contribute to the creation of a green, clean, and livable city.
