Abstract

The limited use of engaging concrete media has contributed to students’ low learning outcomes. Therefore, the aim of this study is to implement Pop-Up Book media oriented toward local culture to improve the IPAS learning outcomes of Grade III elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the Nonequivalent Control Group Design Posttest Only, which involved two groups, namely the experimental class and the control class. The research population consisted of all Grade III students at SD Negeri Gugus VIII Mengwi. The research sample was selected through random sampling, with SD Negeri 1 Mengwi serving as the experimental class, which received the treatment of using Pop Up Book media oriented toward Balinese local culture in IPAS learning, while SDN 2 Werdi Bhuwana served as the control class, which used conventional learning without such media. The research instrument was a learning outcomes test that had been declared valid and reliable. The analysis was conducted through prerequisite tests in the form of normality and homogeneity tests, followed by hypothesis testing using the independent t-test to determine the difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes. The independent t-test hypothesis test yielded a 2-tailed significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that there is a significant effect of Pop Up Book media oriented toward Balinese local culture on the IPAS learning outcomes of Grade III elementary school students. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for developing e-comic learning media based on field trips to introduce reading and writing literacy to early childhood (AUD) through historical tourism exploration in Palembang. The background of this study is based on the low interest and ability of early literacy children and the still dominant use of conventional learning media in PAUD institutions. The study used a quantitative descriptive approach with a needs analysis design. The research subjects included teachers and students at TK Bina Putra 2 and TK Islam Adventure. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that literacy learning is still dominated by print media and conventional methods that are less interesting for children. Meanwhile, the results of the student needs analysis showed a very high level of need for visual, interactive, story-based, and audio-visual learning media with an average percentage reaching 84.5%. Teachers also expressed the need for digital learning media that is innovative, easy to use, and able to integrate the local cultural context. These findings confirm that the development of e-comic media for field trips based on local historical tourism is highly relevant and needed. Thus, this research provides an empirical basis for the development of contextual, interactive, and local culture-based learning media to improve early childhood reading and writing literacy more effectively and meaningfully.

Abstract

Minat belajar siswa merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam keberhasilan proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Namun, penelitian mengenai pengelolaan kelas masih banyak berfokus pada hubungan dengan hasil belajar atau motivasi belajar secara kuantitatif sehingga praktik pengelolaan kelas dalam pembelajaran sehari-hari serta pengalaman siswa belum banyak dikaji secara mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru dalam mengelola kelas dan menganalisis dampaknya terhadap minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Informan penelitian terdiri atas dua guru dan sepuluh siswa kelas V sekolah dasar yang dipilih secara purposif. Keabsahan data dilakukan melalui triangulasi sumber antara hasil wawancara dan observasi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi pembelajaran dan wawancara semi-terstruktur, kemudian dianalisis secara tematik melalui proses transkripsi, identifikasi kata kunci, pengelompokan data, dan penarikan tema. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan kelas yang dilakukan guru meliputi pengaturan ruang kelas yang fleksibel, pengelompokan siswa secara heterogen, interaksi belajar yang aktif antara guru dan siswa maupun antar siswa, penerapan strategi pembelajaran yang bervariasi dan menyenangkan, penegakan aturan kelas secara konsisten, penciptaan suasana emosional yang positif melalui motivasi pujian, serta perencanaan pembelajaran yang terarah. Praktik pengelolaan kelas tersebut menciptakan suasana belajar yang kondusif sehingga siswa merasa nyaman, lebih terlibat dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, dan menunjukkan minat belajar yang baik.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of strengthening elementary school students’ social-emotional competencies as a foundation for character development and learning readiness. The objective of this study is to analyze teachers’ efforts in developing the social-emotional aspects of fourth-grade students at SDIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observations and interviews using observation and interview guidelines as instruments. Data analysis is conducted interactively through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers play a strategic role in developing various social-emotional aspects of students, including self-awareness, self-confidence, self-adjustment, social interaction and communication, responsible decision-making, stress management, self-discipline, empathy, and self-regulation. These efforts are implemented through personal approaches, role modeling, providing motivation, instilling the value of trustworthiness (amanah), and habituating Islamic manners (adab). The results of this study confirm that the integration of a humanistic approach and character values in pedagogical practices is effective in supporting students’ holistic social-emotional development.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a valid, practical and effective contextual problem-based mathematics learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is a research on the development of a plomp which consists of three stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping stage and assessment stage. The research was conducted at Widya Sakti Junior High School in Denpasar. The data of this study was obtained through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and critical thinking ability tests, The results of this study show that: 1). The developed learning model has met the valid criteria with an average score of 10.32. based on expert assessment 2). The level of practicality of the learning model of the teacher response questionnaire with an average score of 46.25% with practical criteria and the average student response questionnaire score of 6.0%, with practical criteria and field trials of teacher response questionnaires with an average score of 50.25 with very practical criteria and student response questionnaires with an average score of 8.33% with very practical criteria, 3). The level of effectiveness of students' critical thinking skills from the results of the pre-test score is an average score of 50.20% with the effective criteria, and the results of the post-test score is an average score of 82.50% with very effective criteria, Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the development of a mathematics learning model based on contextual problems has met the valid, practical and effective criteria to be able to improve students' critical thinking skills

Abstract

Islamic education serves not only as a means of transferring religious knowledge but also as a social space that shapes students’ character, values, and democratic awareness. This article aims to analyze how Islamic education can function as a public space that enables student participation in decision-making processes within the school environment. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method at Madrasah Ainul Falah. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and school administrators. The findings indicate that student participation in school decision-making can enhance democratic awareness, social responsibility, and leadership skills among students. Furthermore, the practice of deliberation implemented in student organization activities and madrasah discussion forums serves as a vehicle for democratic education that aligns with Islamic values. Thus, Islamic education holds great potential to become a public sphere that fosters a democratic culture rooted in Islamic values.

Abstract

Abstract Penelitian ini berjudul Model Penilaian Pendidikan Karakter Dalam Pembelajaran Sejarah Di MAN 1 Kendari dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Penerapan pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran sejarah di MAN 1 Kendari; (2) Nilai-nilai karakter yang diterapkan dalam pembelajaran sejarah di MAN 1 Kendari; (3) Model penilaian pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran sejarah di MAN 1 Kendari. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah dekstriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan MAN 1 Kendari. Sumber data diperoleh dari primer dan sekunder. Tehnik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan triangulasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model Miles dan Hubermen yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Penerapan pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran sejarah di MAN 1 Kendari sudah diterapkan sejak lama, mengingat MAN 1 Kendari merupakan sekolah umum berbasis Agama sehingga tidak terlepas dari nilai-nilai karakter. Dalam pengaplikasiannya pendidikan karakter ditanamkan melalui kegiatan Akademik maupn nonakademik baik pembiasaan (pembudayaan), kegiatan ekstrakulikuler maupun proses pembelajaran di kelas. (2) Nilai-nilai karakter yang diterapkan dalam pembelajaran Sejarah di MAN 1 Kendari yakni nilai religius, saling hormat menghormati, sopan santun, disiplin, budaya bangsa dan peduli lingkungan. (3) model penilaian pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran sejarah yaitu (a) penilaian observasi individu, penilaian ini dilakukan guru dengan cara mengamati sikap dan prilaku peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. (b) umpan balik dan tanya jawab, penilaian ini dilakukan guru guna mengkonfirmasi sejauh mana pemahaman peserta didik sehingga dapat memastikan apakah peserta didik tersebut paham dan fokus dengan materi yang diberikan. Kata Kunci: model penilaian, karakter, pembelajaran sejarah.

Abstract

A language ecology study at Lombok Tourism Vocational Schools is essential to meet students’ learning needs and to prepare qualified human resources for the tourism sector in East Lombok. This research aims to explore the specific needs of Indonesian language learning relevant to the Merdeka Curriculum within an Indonesian language ecology framework, enhance instructional effectiveness, and propose strategies for integrating these learning needs with the context of the local tourism industry. This study employed an exploratory research design with a language ecology approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, document analyses, focus group discussions (FGDs), and questionnaires. The data collection encompassed an analysis of learning processes and outcomes, structured interviews regarding ecological environments and the use of learning materials, as well as observations of language ecology in tourism vocational schools located in coastal, urban, and mountainous areas. Data were analyzed descriptively by quantifying learning needs based on ecological environments, correlating the quantitative findings with interview and FGD data, and drawing qualitative conclusions on the distinctions of Indonesian language learning needs across tourism schools. The findings indicate that Indonesian language learning aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum and informed by language ecology should emphasize communication skills in both formal and informal contexts, tourism-related vocabulary, and the integration of Lombok’s local cultural values. These needs highlight the role of language as a key instrument in preparing students for the tourism workforce. The ecological approach was found to enhance instructional relevance and support students’ understanding of language use in real-world professional settings. Recommended strategies include project-based learning through tourism simulations and the development of instructional materials integrating language with local traditions, folklore, and cultural terminology to strengthen students’ contextual language competence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of organizational culture in improving the quality of education at PAUD KB Bani Hamzah and PAUD Darul Faqih, as well as to identify the strategies employed by school principals in shaping and internalizing a conducive organizational culture. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and educational staff, and document analysis. Data were analyzed following Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña’s (2014) interactive model. The findings reveal that principals implemented participatory leadership, instilled shared values, habituated positive behaviors, strengthened collaboration, maintained open communication, and demonstrated exemplary integrity and work discipline. A strong and consistent organizational culture significantly enhanced teacher motivation, parental involvement, and the quality of learning processes and outcomes. In conclusion, the principals’ strategies in building and sustaining a positive organizational culture play a central and sustainable role in improving the quality of early childhood education.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of integrating Human Rights values into Islamic education, which is often perceived as having a gap with the concept of human rights. Values such as justice, equality, and tolerance are inherently embedded in Islamic teachings; however, in educational practice, these values are not always systematically internalized within the curriculum. Many Islamic educational institutions still convey these values implicitly without explicitly linking them to the concept of human rights, which may lead to a partial understanding among students. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at MA Ainul Falah. The research subjects include the principal, teachers, and students. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations of the learning process, and documentation such as lesson plans, syllabi, and school regulations. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity is ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the internalization of human rights values occurs through stages of understanding, internalization, and practice, which are integrated into both classroom learning and school culture. Teachers apply cognitive, affective, and psychomotor strategies in the process. The main challenges include limited teacher understanding, the absence of explicit curriculum integration, and school culture constraints, while solutions involve teacher training, curriculum integration, and strengthening an inclusive school culture.
