Abstract

Small and medium-sized industries, particularly the tofu industry, are often characterized by low energy efficiency and high pollution due to a lack of industrial wastewater treatment, leading to direct discharge that degrades water bodies and the surrounding well water quality. This study aims to analyze the quality of well water near the tofu industry in Pakintelan Village, Gunungpati District, Semarang City, to assess its suitability as drinking water. A quantitative descriptive research approach was used with purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and laboratory tests focusing on physical (Odor, Taste, TDS), chemical (pH, Nitrate, Nitrite), and biological (Coliform) parameters from residents' wells. The quality status was determined using the STORET Index method and an ANOVA test, in accordance with the Minister of Health Regulation No. 02 of 2023. The results confirmed that tofu liquid wastewater negatively affects well water quality, and that the distance between the well and the tofu industry significantly influences this water quality. This research contributes to environmental science by providing empirical evidence of the direct contamination pathway from untreated tofu effluent to domestic water sources and highlighting well distance as a critical factor in managing water resources in industrial areas.

Abstract

In an era characterized by digital transformation and heightened expectations for service excellence, understanding how organizational support, professionalism, and stress management interact has become increasingly vital. This study aims to synthesize and contextualize existing evidence on these relationships within large-scale, culturally embedded service environments—particularly the Hajj system—through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Using the PRISMA 2020 protocol and the TCCM framework, 41 peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 and 2025 were systematically analyzed. The review employed the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) and Conservation of Resources (COR) models as theoretical anchors while incorporating cross-sectoral and cross-cultural perspectives. Findings reveal that organizational support functions not merely as a buffer against stress but as a transformative mechanism that fosters ethical commitment, mindfulness, and adaptive professionalism. Interestingly, ethical leadership and spirituality emerged as critical mediators linking support mechanisms to service performance—an aspect often overlooked in Western-centric frameworks. Moreover, digital transformation was found to operate as a paradoxical driver, enhancing efficiency yet potentially triggering technostress unless balanced with empathy and inclusive leadership. The review extends the JD-R model by integrating cultural and spiritual dimensions, reframing professionalism as a moral and relational construct. The study contributes a novel conceptual synthesis that bridges ethical, technological, and psychological dimensions of organizational behavior. Practically, it urges institutions—especially in religious or collectivist service systems—to design integrative strategies that harmonize operational performance with human well-being. Future research should adopt longitudinal and mixed-method approaches, exploring AI-enabled mindfulness interventions and cross-cultural comparisons to refine context-sensitive models of organizational resilience. This study contributes by extending the Job Demands–Resources model through the integration of cultural and spiritual dimensions, offering a novel conceptual synthesis that bridges ethical, technological, and psychological aspects of organizational behavior. It also provides practical insights for designing integrative strategies that align digital efficiency with human well-being, particularly in culturally embedded service systems.

Abstract

Children with special needs are more vulnerable to minor injuries due to limited motor coordination and low awareness of environmental risks, emphasizing the need for accessible first-aid education. This community service program aimed to improve inclusive health literacy and basic first-aid skills by integrating traditional games, Bola Bekel and Ular Naga, as culturally based learning media. A Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach was applied in collaboration with teachers and students at Widya Bhakti Special Needs School, Semarang, through planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The adapted games introduced essential first-aid concepts, including recognizing common injuries, selecting appropriate first-aid equipment, and practicing simple response procedures through guided simulations. The program results showed increased student understanding of first-aid tools, greater confidence in performing basic first-aid actions, improved motor coordination, and enhanced social interaction. In addition, the activity strengthened partner empowerment by improving teachers’ capacity to independently implement game-based first-aid learning and integrate it into school activities, supporting program sustainability. This program contributes to the development of culturally relevant, inclusive, and sustainable first-aid education models for children with diverse abilities.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) e-modules in developing students' 21st-century skills by synthesizing ten Scopus-indexed empirical studies published between 2015 and 2025. Motivated by the growing demand for student-centered and technology-integrated learning, this review aims to consolidate evidence on how PBL-oriented digital modules support key competencies. Following the PRISMA guidelines, the study employed a transparent selection process and combined thematic synthesis with bibliometric analysis (VOSviewer) to identify research trends, dominant themes, and learning outcomes. The findings indicate that PBL e-modules consistently enhance critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity, with the strongest effects reported in critical thinking and collaborative performance. Student motivation and autonomy emerged as important mediating factors, while variations in instructional design and digital platform quality influenced effectiveness across contexts. These results imply that well-structured PBL design and purposeful digital integration are critical for maximizing the impact of e-modules on 21st-century skills, while also highlighting methodological gaps for future research.

Abstract

Women farmers play an important role in agricultural sustainability in Indonesia; however, their participation in decision-making and access to extension services remain limited. Previous studies often examine agricultural extension or farmer group programs separately, providing a limited understanding of their combined influence on women farmers’ behavior. Grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), this study analyzes the role of agricultural extension workers and farmer group activity programs in shaping women farmers’ behavior toward sustainable agriculture. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, using stratified random sampling, with 120 active women farmers in Sragen Regency, Central Java. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that extension workers and group programs do not significantly influence behavior when examined individually; however, their combined effect is significant. These findings extend TPB by showing that integrated institutional support and group-based empowerment more effectively influence behavioral change. Practically, the study highlights the importance of integrated, participatory, and gender-responsive extension programs to support sustainable agriculture in rural areas.

Abstract

The integration of technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), into learning assessment plays a pivotal role in improving the effectiveness of education. However, the digital competence gap has caused teachers at MTs. Hidayatul Mubtadi’in Jember will still predominantly use conventional assessments. This community service program aims to improve teachers’ professional competencies in designing AI-based assessment instruments. The implementation method combines the development of 4D model materials (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) with Direct Instruction and Cooperative Learning model training, which 22 teachers followed. The evaluation instruments included an AI assessment guidebook validation sheet, competency tests, and participant satisfaction questionnaires. The results of the activity show that the developed AI Assessment Guidebook is valid, with a score of 82.00. The effectiveness of the training is evident from the high level of participant understanding, with an average post-test score of 88.67 and a participant satisfaction rating of 89.56 (Very Good). Implicitly, this training significantly contributed to developing teacher competency, as participants can now independently create a variety of questions and assessment rubrics using AI. This program recommends continuous technological adaptation to support the digital madrasah (Islamic school) ecosystem.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of innovative pedagogical strategies on enhancing entrepreneurial motivation among high school students in Denpasar, Indonesia. Recognizing the role of entrepreneurship education in fostering creative, independent, and adaptive learners, this research focuses on two innovative approaches: Project-Based Learning and Problem-Based Learning. Using a quantitative, ex post facto design, data were collected from 99 students who had completed entrepreneurship courses using a validated Likert-scale questionnaire. Analysis using simple linear regression revealed that pedagogical strategies accounted for 20.2 per cent of the variance in entrepreneurial motivation, including intrinsic factors such as passion and autonomy, as well as extrinsic factors such as social recognition and financial independence. The study demonstrates that participatory, context-based learning significantly boosts students' entrepreneurial drive and engagement. The findings contribute to educational science by highlighting how innovative teaching methods not only enhance academic performance but also cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets among high school students, offering practical recommendations for curriculum development and policy-making in entrepreneurship education.

Abstract

This study explores the analytical thinking skills of prospective Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) teacher students in understanding seasonal changes in Lampung through the ethnoscience-based RADEC learning model integrated with the local Ngumbai Sabah tradition. The aim is to bridge scientific concepts with local wisdom through both verbal and visual representations. The research employed a quantitative experimental design with a One-Pretest–Posttest design. The sample consisted of PGMI students from Class H, and the instrument was an open-ended essay test assessing students’ abilities to differentiate, organize, connect concepts, and present them visually. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially, including a paired-sample t-test to evaluate the effectiveness of RADEC.Results show that the ethnoscience-based RADEC model effectively improves students’ ability to differentiate and organize concepts. However, their ability to connect concepts comprehensively remains limited, especially in visual representations. The main hindering factors are misconceptions regarding basic science concepts, particularly seasonal change phenomena, and difficulties in representing the relationships between scientific concepts and Lampung’s local wisdom. Most visual outputs remain descriptive and fragmented, highlighting the need to strengthen higher-order analytical thinking skills and visual literacy.

Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of Case-Based Learning (CBL) integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) tools in enhancing critical thinking and communication skills among English for Specific Purposes (ESP) students in higher education. The study was motivated by the growing need for ESP students to develop advanced reasoning and practical communication skills to meet academic and professional demands. Using a quasi-experimental pre-test–post-test control-group design, 237 ESP students participated, with 119 assigned to the experimental group and 118 to the control group. Over six weeks, the experimental group engaged in AI-supported CBL, while the control group received conventional CBL without AI tools. Data were collected using a critical thinking test adapted from the Watson–Glaser framework and a communication skills rubric and analyzed using Welch’s t-tests. The results showed statistically significant improvements in critical thinking (t = 25.567, p .001) and communication skills (t = 24.981, p .001) in the experimental group compared to the control group. The findings confirm that AI-supported CBL has a substantial impact on students’ higher-order thinking and communicative performance. This study contributes to ESP pedagogy by providing empirical evidence that integrating AI tools into CBL serves as an effective instructional model.
