Abstract

Abstract

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is an important health information system for improving efficiency and service quality. In Indonesia, the implementation of EMR still faces challenges such as the lack of readiness and understanding of EMR among healthcare professionals, including students, resulting in considerable resistance to EMR adoption. The EMR socialization activities at the Faculty of Health, Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani Yogyakarta, aim to enhance students' understanding of EMR and address implementation challenges. These activities involve 22 students from the Medical Records and Health Information (D-3), Nursing (S-1), and Pharmacy (S-1) programs. The socialization material was delivered through interactive approach and discussions, followed by a post-test using the Technology Readiness Index (TRI) questionnaire. The EMR socialization was successfully introducing the basic concepts of EMR to students. Before the socialization, most students were not familiar with EMR and were still using manual medical records. After the socialization, there was a positive readiness for EMR, reflected in students' positive views on the efficiency, effectiveness, and creativity of working with EMR. Continuous capacity-building activities related to EMR for students are necessary.

Abstract

Healthcare services are advancing with the development of information and communication technology. Basic literacy is crucial for improving healthcare efficiency and quality. In Indonesia, the implementation of basic literacy faces challenges such as the readiness of healthcare professionals, students' lack of understanding, and resistance to change. Therefore, Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani Yogyakarta (Unjaya) must organize basic literacy socialization activities for healthcare students. These activities aim to introduce basic literacy concepts, enhance students' understanding of its benefits and technical implementation, and address obstacles like technological ignorance and resistance to change. Through an interactive and practical approach, students are expected to acquire the necessary understanding and skills for future clinical practice. Twenty-two students from the Nursing, Blood Bank Technology, Pharmacy, and Midwifery programs will participate. Educational videos will be used for socialization, followed by pretests and post-tests to evaluate understanding. Evaluation results show increased knowledge before and after the socialization.

Abstract

Monitoring nutritional status and waist circumference is an important step in detecting potential obesity and preventing cardiometabolic complications. Educational programs about the importance of monitoring nutritional status and waist circumference are crucial for the community, especially among young adults at high risk. The FK UNTAR community service team conducted a screening program for measuring nutritional status and waist circumference. This activity aims to educate and raise awareness about the importance of monitoring nutritional status and waist circumference as an early detection method for obesity prevention. The community service activity related to nutritional status checks and waist circumference measurements was held on October 9, 2024 and attended by 23 instructors from Atisa Dipamkara. The process began with measuring weight, height, and calculating the Body Mass Index (BMI), which is the main indicator in assessing nutritional status. Most participants were an average age of 37.96 years, with the majority falling within the normal or higher nutritional status category. 69.6% of respondents were at risk of abdominal obesity, which increases the risk of metabolic diseases. The average BMI of the participants was 25.47 kg/m², indicating a tendency toward obesity. The follow-up plan for this activity includes education on healthy eating patterns, physical activity, stress management, and regular check-ups every 3-6 months to monitor health.

Abstract

The health check-up of blood glucose and blood pressure, as well as the installation of health education media at Samsat Pandeglang Regency, aims to increase public awareness of the importance of routine health monitoring. This activity was attended by 35 participants, consisting of residents who visited Samsat for vehicle administration purposes. Blood glucose tests are used to measure blood glucose levels and monitor potential diabetes risk, while blood pressure tests aim to detect symptoms of hypertension. Both of these tests are important in the prevention of non-communicable diseases that often go undetected in the early stages. In addition to health checks, the installation of educational media in the form of posters, brochures, and leaflets is carried out in strategic locations within Samsat to disseminate information related to healthy lifestyles, diabetes management, hypertension prevention, and the importance of routine checkups. This educational media aims to provide information that is easy to understand and accessible to the public to increase their understanding of how to maintain health independently. The results of this activity show that health checks provide direct benefits for participants in knowing their health conditions, while educational media have succeeded in increasing public awareness of the importance of maintaining health and living a healthy lifestyle. It is hoped that this activity can encourage the community to be more concerned about their health.
