Jurnal Ilmiah Widya Pustaka Pendidikan merupakan jurnal ilmiah akses terbuka dan peer-review yang diterbitkan oleh Jurusan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Mataram. Abstract

Tantangan guru dalam mengelola waktu untuk pemberian tugas kelompok wawancara pada pembelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (PKn) di kelas V SD menjadi perhatian penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Tugas wawancara kelompok bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial, komunikasi, dan pemahaman peserta didik tentang nilai-nilai kewarganegaraan. Namun, pengelolaan waktu yang efektif sering kali menjadi kendala bagi guru, mengingat adanya berbagai komponen dalam pembelajaran yang harus diperhatikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tantangan yang dihadapi guru dalam mengatur waktu untuk tugas wawancara, termasuk alokasi waktu yang tepat, koordinasi antara kelompok, dan integrasi dengan materi pembelajaran lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tantangan utama meliputi kesulitan dalam memastikan setiap kelompok mendapatkan waktu yang cukup untuk persiapan dan pelaksanaan wawancara, serta mengatur jadwal yang sesuai dengan kegiatan pembelajaran lainnya. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan rekomendasi bagi guru dalam merancang dan melaksanakan tugas wawancara kelompok yang lebih efektif dan efisien.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of learning media in the thematic connected learning model and its relationship with students’ learning interest at SDN 36 Cakranegara. The learning media used include concrete objects, interactive PowerPoint presentations, and interactive games. This qualitative research employed observations, interviews, and documentation to collect data. The results show that the use of learning media significantly increases students’ learning interest, reflected in enhanced participation, enthusiasm, and active involvement during the learning process. The media help students better understand the material and reduce boredom commonly experienced with traditional lecture methods. Furthermore, the application of the connected learning model integrated with learning media supports comprehensive understanding of concepts and skills. This study concludes that utilizing learning media is an effective strategy to improve students’ learning interest and the quality of education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Canang sari as a ritual tool for Balinese Hindu communities outside the island of Bali is still maintained even though the materials used are different. This research aims to find out the local wisdom of canang sari as a ritual offering for Hindu communities in Bali. The method used is a qualitative method. The results of this research show that the tradition of offering canang sari is still maintained to this day, because canang sari is a special attraction for Hindus to use it in ritual offerings for traditional ceremonies. Even though in the current era of modernization, the Hindu community in Bali still preserves the local wisdom of canang sari by making it using natural materials that come from nature such as flowers which have many colors, leaves, areca nut, sugar cane, and gambier in each piece of flower and leaf which is arranged carefully, showing a deep spiritual message, a sign of unity. nature, spirit and God. Making canang saris is usually called matanding and majejahitan. All Balinese people are taught to make canang saris from childhood to adulthood, with the aim being that these canang saris will be preserved for generations to come. Canang sari also has five meanings and objectives, namely to practice the teachings of the Veda, to show gratitude to Sang Hyang Widi, to improve one's quality, and as a way to get closer to God who is worshiped.

Abstract

This article examines the transformation of curriculum policy in Indonesia in the context of educational decentralization during the reform era. The 1998 reformation was an important turning point that drove the shift in the education system from centralization to decentralization, through strengthening the role of local governments in managing education. The curriculum as the main instrument of education has undergone significant changes along with changes in policies and the direction of national development. This study uses historical research methods with heuristic stages, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. The results of the study show that the implementation of the decentralization policy provides space for the development of a curriculum that is contextual and relevant to regional needs. However, its implementation cannot be separated from challenges such as limited human resources, inequality in access to education between regions, and dependence on central funding and policies. Therefore, synergy between the central and regional governments, as well as active participation of the community and educators, are the keys to the success of educational decentralization. The curriculum in the framework of decentralization is not only a technical tool for teaching, but also a reflection of the democratization process and efforts to improve the quality of national education in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors that influence students' ability to use Microsoft Word at Medan State University. Data was obtained through a questionnaire filled out by 30 students with questions related to ICT learning in high school, difficulties faced in using Microsoft Word, level of knowledge regarding important features of Microsoft Word, and the main obstacles in improving the ability to use this application. The method used is a descriptive quantitative method with frequency and percentage analysis. The research results show that the lack of ICT learning in high school (60%) is the main factor causing the lack of skills in using Microsoft Word. In addition, the majority of students admitted that they often faced difficulties in using this application, even though they felt they had a fairly good knowledge of its features. The main obstacle faced is the lack of technological facilities and time to practice. These findings indicate the need to increase ICT learning in high schools and provide adequate facilities in tertiary institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an effective guidance and counseling (BK) program to improve elementary school students' social skills. Social skills, such as communication skills, cooperation, empathy, and conflict resolution, are important aspects in supporting students' academic success and psychosocial development. However, many students still face obstacles in mastering these skills. This study uses an Action Research approach with the Kemmis and McTaggart model which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, field notes, and open-ended questionnaires, and analyzed using a thematic qualitative approach. The program developed consists of basic services, responsive services, and system support, arranged in weekly modules for eight meetings. Implementation was carried out in two cycles in grade V of elementary school, with evaluation through observation of social skills attitudes during the implementation of the treatment. The results showed an average increase in students' social skills of 23%, with the communication and cooperation aspects experiencing the highest increase. These findings confirm the effectiveness of the BK program based on play and discussion activities in developing students' social skills. The participation of teachers and parents also plays an important role in the success of the program. This research contributes to the development of contextual and collaborative BK services at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Learning motivation is a key factor in determining student success in the educational process. However, many students face various obstacles that cause low learning motivation, both from internal factors such as low self-confidence and academic ability, and external factors such as pressure from the family environment and lack of social support from peers. This study aims to describe the process and results of the implementation of individual guidance services for an elementary school student who experiences learning motivation problems. The method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through interviews. The results of the implementation of individual guidance showed an increase in student learning motivation, which was reflected in increased active participation in class, courage to communicate, and initiative in asking for help when experiencing learning difficulties. In addition, the implementation of this guidance also showed the importance of the role of empathy, patience, and student involvement in building effective counseling relationships. These findings confirm that individual guidance services can be an effective intervention in increasing student learning motivation, as well as a means of professional development for prospective teacher mentors.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectually (SAVI) learning model on students’ critical thinking skills in science subjects among fifth-grade students at SDN Gugus 5 Cakranegara during the 2018/2019 academic year. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique used was random sampling, with data collected through tests and observations. The test measured students’ critical thinking ability, while observations assessed the implementation of the learning process. Data analysis using a t-test showed that the post-test average score in the experimental class was 67.5, compared to 60.9 in the control class. The t-test result was 2.62, which is greater than the t-table value of 2.00 at a 5% significance level, indicating that H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the SAVI learning model positively influences students' critical thinking skills in science learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the inquiry learning model on science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Gugus V Cakranegara in the 2019/2020 academic year. This research is a quasi-experimental study using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Data were collected using a multiple-choice test. The analysis results show that the t-value (3.226) is greater than the t-table (2.002) at the 5% significance level, indicating that H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted. This suggests a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes. Thus, the inquiry learning model is effective in improving students' science learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-concept and achievement motivation among fourth-grade students at SDN Cluster I, Ampenan District, in the 2019/2020 academic year. The research used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. Instruments included self-concept and achievement motivation questionnaires, both of which were tested for validity and reliability. The study involved 120 students from four elementary schools. Data analysis was conducted using normality, linearity, and Pearson Product Moment correlation tests. The results indicate a significant and positive relationship between self-concept and achievement motivation, with a correlation coefficient of 0.705 and a contribution of 49.7%. This implies that the higher the students’ self-concept, the higher their achievement motivation.
