Abstract

In the world of education, especially at the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) level, effective learning methods are the main key in forming the foundation of children's education. In the midst of technological advances, the integration of visual aids such as slide shows is increasingly relevant in supporting the learning process. This service activity aims to optimize the use of slide shows to improve the quality of learning at PAUD Hooray School. Activities include several activity specifications, namely developing interactive slide shows, creating interesting and informative slide material, training teachers in using slide shows, and carrying out evaluations of the effectiveness of using slide shows. The hope to be achieved through this activity is to create a more dynamic and interactive learning environment through the use of slide shows designed taking into account children's cognitive, motoric and social development. Although faced with challenges such as adapting visual materials to suit the child's age, this activity shows great potential in increasing student engagement and understanding during the learning process. Assistance in making interactive PPTs can help teachers carry out teaching activities more optimally.

Abstract

Tourism in Bali remains a key economic sector for the Balinese people. According to the Bali Provincial Statistics Agency (BPS), Japanese tourists, ranked among the top 10, recorded 15,889 visitors in December 2024, a +39.19% increase from 11,415 visitors in November of the previous year. Given this reality, tourism operators in Bali are required to provide excellent service related to facilities, human resources, and products that will serve as memories when they leave Bali for their countries. One of the handicraft products produced by the Balinese community is processed silver located at Yan Silver Gianyar, which has been established since the 2000s. Many Japanese tourists visit and purchase its products as souvenirs. Silver crafts as a micro-business activity is a tool to reduce poverty by offering flexible business opportunities and numerous job opportunities and a variety of goods and services to tourists, directly and indirectly (ILO, 2012: 16). This community service activity aims to provide language training that focuses on the steps in making handicraft products at Yan Silver through videos using standard Japanese language services for Japanese tourists. This community service activity is expected to have a positive impact on improving the quality of service to Japanese tourists visiting Yan Silver so that it can become a future reference for tourism practitioners and other tourism entrepreneurs in Bali to leave a good impression in the eyes of tourists to be able to make sustainable tourism which can ultimately improve the welfare of the people in Bali.

Abstract

Besakih Village, located in Rendang District, Karangasem Regency, Bali, is a culturally rich village known for Besakih Temple, the largest and holiest temple in Bali, which also serves as a major tourist attraction. However, observations reveal that the community still lacks adequate oral health awareness. The level of knowledge about dental diseases such as cavities and periodontal disease remains low, increasing the risk of oral health problems. To address this issue, a Social Service program was held in 2025 focusing on oral health care in Besakih Village. This program provided free dental treatments including scaling, cavity fillings, and tooth extractions. In addition to treatment, oral health education was conducted, covering dental anatomy, cavity care, and prevention of periodontal disease. Informational pamphlets on oral hygiene maintenance were distributed to the community. The program targeted children and the general population to improve knowledge and awareness of oral health maintenance. It is expected that through this Social Service activity, the oral health quality of Besakih Village residents will significantly improve.

This service research aims to improve the basic English language skills of students at SDN 1 Sayan Ubud through the implementation of an interactive training program. The background of this research is based on the observation that although English is an important skill in the era of globalization, the level of mastery of basic English among elementary school students still needs to be improved, especially in areas that have the potential to become tourism destinations such as Ubud. This training program is designed with student-centered methods, integrating participatory activities, educational games, and the use of audio-visual media to create a fun and effective learning environment. This approach is expected to stimulate students' interest in learning English and accelerate vocabulary acquisition and basic comprehension. The implementation of the program involved the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data was collected through participatory observation, pre-test and post-test to measure students' comprehension improvement, as well as questionnaires to obtain feedback on the effectiveness of the program. The expected results of this program are significant improvements in students' cognitive and affective abilities related to English, which include mastery of basic vocabulary, ability to construct simple sentences, and confidence in communicating. It is hoped that this program can serve as a model for similar efforts in other schools to support language acquisition.
