Abstract

Abstract

Antibiotic resistance is a global problem in the health sector, which can be caused by the ease with which people can get antibiotics on the market, lack of supervision by the government regarding antibiotic consumption, inappropriate use of antibiotics, and excessive consumption of antibiotics in inappropriate communities. There is the potential for marine bacteria to produce secondary metabolite compounds, especially antibiotics, which generally come from various sources and substrates that associate with each other to produce secondary metabolites. The main substrate source for marine bacteria, known to produce secondary metabolite compounds as antibiotics, can come from sediments, sponges and seaweed. Several types of diversity of marine bacteria associated with sediment that have been identified include Aeromonas veronii, Arthrobacter sp, Bacillus sp, Chryseobacterium sp, Citrobacter freundii, Enterobacter cloacea, Flavobacterium sp, Microbacterium sp, Streptomyces tunisiensis, Streptomyces sp, Streptomyces microflavus, Stenotrophomonas sp, Pristia flexa, and Pseudomonas sp. This type of bacteria, Streptomyces sp, has the most potential activity as a new type of antibiotic. Data shows that the diversity of deep-sea bacteria producing active compounds from various substrate sources can be used as candidates for new types of antibiotics to overcome the existing level of antibiotic resistance.

Abstract

Turmeric is an herbal plant that is believed to accelerate the wound healing process. Scientifically, turmeric has been proven to have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of turmeric extract and salt on wound healing. This was experimental study. Experimental animals were divided into two groups, each group consisted of five white rats, each group was given treatment using (turmeric extract with salt and Normal Saline solution). The data were analyzed by using the Statistical Product and Service Solution Program (analysis of variance, Wilcoxon). This study showed that there were significant differences in the intervention group and the control group (P<0.05). However, The Mann withney test showed that there are the same results between the treatment group by Turmeric and Salt Extract (TSE) with the control group by Normal Saline Solution (NSS) and also showed that both treatments has the same function in accelerating wound healing process. There is a strong effect of using TSE treatment in wound care for wound healing process on white rats.

Abstract

This study aims to examine procedures for purifying and performing prayers for patients with severe burns, who often have physical limitations so they cannot perform worship using conventional methods. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with content analysis techniques and library research, this research provided a guidance for patients with severe burns in worship. The research results show three main points: first, the condition of patients with severe burns occurs as an emergency or near emergency, where patients are not advised to come into contact with air or make many movements. Second, patients in this condition are allowed to replace ablution with tayammum as a way of purifying themselves. Third, considering their physical limitations, patients are allowed to pray with adapted movements, for example praying in a sitting, lying position, or whatever is possible. This research is important to ensure that patients with severe burns can still carry out their worship according to Islamic regulations, even in limited physical conditions.
