Abstract

Simalungun Regency is one of the regencies in North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This district is home to the Simalungun Batak people. The Community Service Team (PKM) provides enlightenment to the community and MSME actors in Simalungun Regency in order to increase their income. In general, mothers in the neighborhood live at home and therefore the PKM Team provides a way to increase their income. The aim of PKM is their knowledge and insight in managing a business. Apart from that, this PKM activity is to train the community and MSME players in running their businesses and this activity provides tips and strategies for managing a business, marketing strategies in doing business, preparing simple business bookkeeping, and the role of digital marketing in a business. This activity equips people in entrepreneurship and motivates them to become entrepreneurs. PKM participants are expected to have creative ideas and be able to run their businesses better, in terms of management, marketing and business capacity, which will ultimately increase income.

Abstract

The stigma and psychological burden experienced by people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) often hinder their self-acceptance process. This community service activity aimed to support self-acceptance among young men living with HIV in Samarinda through an interactive talk show. The program involved 15 participants aged 18–25 years from the Mahakam Plus Community and featured two professional speakers who discussed gratitude strategies and the role of family support. Activities included material presentations, group discussions, relaxation exercises, and reflective practices such as gratitude journaling and a "tree of hope" activity. The results showed a positive response from participants, with increased openness during discussions and improved emotional awareness through reflective practices. These findings suggest that a community-based intervention combining education, reflection, and interactive activities can effectively enhance self-acceptance and psychological well-being among PLWHA.

Abstract

The efficacy of Instagram as a marketing tool is attributable to its visual features, including Stories, Reels, and Insights. This community service program sought to optimize Instagram as a marketing platform for the Angkatan Muda Gereja Protestan Maluku (AMGPM) Cabang Sion Jemaat Tiberias I Poka. The program was developed in response to the organization's challenges in building its brand image, which was attributed to its members' limited digital knowledge. The program was meticulously structured in two phases: a preparatory phase that entailed interviews and observations to ascertain the community's needs, and an implementation phase comprising interactive workshops and open discussions. The program's success is evidenced by the enhancement of participants' skills in creative Instagram utilization, the strengthening of the community's brand image, and the fostering of innovation in social media management to better adapt to digital developments.

Abstract

Technical guidance on the project to strengthen the profile of pancasila students is an activity carried out to provide participants with an understanding of how to implement the project to strengthen the profile of pancasila students in their respective educational units, which is a co-curricular activity in the independent curriculum. The aim of this activity is that all participants are able to understand the project to strengthen the profile of pancasila students, prepare the school ecosystem, design a project to strengthen the profile of pancasila students, document and report the results of the project to strengthen the profile of pancasila students, and be able to evaluate and follow up on the project to strengthen the profile of pancasila students. The method used is participatory for all participants, namely school principals and elementary school teachers, totaling 96 people from 24 schools and carried out on Wednesday-Thursday 18-19 December 2024 starting at 09.00 WITA-16.00 WITA at the District PKG Building Tinggimoncong, Jl. S. Dg. Jarung No. 320 Malino, Gowa Regency. The final result of this activity is participants' understanding regarding the implementation of the project to strengthen the Pancasila student profile, including in designing project modules and preparing project report cards. In this way, it can have a positive impact on schools, especially at the elementary school level, so that when implementing the project to strengthen the profile of pancasila students in each educational unit, the implementation is in accordance with the guidelines from the central ministry.

Abstract

HIMPAUDI (Association of Indonesian Early Childhood Education and Education Personnel) Pekalongan Regency is an independent organization that brings together elements of educators and education personnel for early childhood. A HIMPAUDI institution is said to be good can be seen from its administrative management in the fields of service, employment, finance and in orderly and regular learning activities. Currently, efficient and effective administrative management is a requirement for every HIMPAUDI institution that exists. The existence of HIMPAUDI management staff who still have difficulty in operating Microsoft Word. Even though in their daily lives the use of computers to manage HIMPAUDI correspondence administration is a mandatory thing to do. Existing limitations such as managers who cannot make mail merges, because so far they have been writing one by one to each recipient of the letter, not knowing how to optimize the buttons on the keyboard or the menus in Microsoft Word to make it easier to create letters are challenges as well as opportunities to carry out community service. Therefore, a community service was carried out to optimize Microsoft Word to create letters for HIMPAUDI administrators and the results obtained after this activity were carried out showed a significant increase from previously 26% of HIMPAUDI administrators who needed a long time to create letters using the toolbar and mail merge to 94% of HIMPAUDI administrators who found it easier to create letters using the toolbar and mail merge.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is one of the chronic diseases that has received attention in Indonesia. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) stated that diabetes is among the global emergencies with the fastest growth in the 21st century. The prevalence of this disease is estimated to continue increasing worldwide. Health promotion is one of the preventive efforts that can be undertaken, one of which is through educational methods. The aim is for the community to have sufficient knowledge so that they are willing to maintain and preserve their health. Increasing knowledge about diabetes is crucial to raise awareness of health maintenance. Health education can be implemented in community service activities. This activity was carried out on July 30, 2023, in Koto Majidin Mudik Village, Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. The activity was conducted through the stages of preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The activity was carried out by the Community Service (KKN) team from Andalas University 2023, Koto Majidin Mudik Village, which was a collaboration of various departments, working in cooperation with the village and the Kemantan Community Health Center (Puskesmas). During the implementation of the activity, the community actively participated. Through the evaluation conducted at the end of the activity, the village, health center, and the community provided positive responses. The results of this community service are expected to provide knowledge, especially in the prevention of diabetes mellitus, and an understanding of healthy lifestyles, thereby forming a healthy community for the future quality of human resources.

Abstract

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are similar to the category of Small and medium enterprises (SMEs), but are usually used to refer to small and medium enterprises only, without including micro businesses. Community service carried out at UKM Driply Coffee, which provides types of drinks in the form of coffee and several other types of drinks besides, also providing food that can accompany customers when they come and sit down to relax either alone, with friends, colleagues, or with family. The research conducted looked at the process of its marketing system, which uses social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and also WhatsApp. The system is indeed seen by many customers, only the process for ordering and selecting menus and the payment process cannot all be seen in the display due to the limitations of the image display, from the presentation of these conditions this research was conducted for approximately 3 months, and will be designed and implemented an online-based application that uses a web program and a MySQL database. Customers can access remotely and can also make payments online, and delivery of drinks or food will be carried out according to the intended location. The convenience felt is not only for customers, but partners will also get convenience and be able to compete in the world of small and medium enterprises (UKM).

Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) internship program provides opportunities for students to gain professional work experience while developing hard and soft skills. This article discusses the internship selection process, implementation, and results of student participation in the BLUD division at PT Syncore Indonesia. The internship activities included Unit Cost calculation, system trials, and performance report training for public health centers (puskesmas), article creation. This program equipped students with practical knowledge and improved their analytical and collaboration skills. This paper aims to inspire students and institutions in optimizing MBKM internship programs.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase awareness of business actors about the importance of having a Business Identification Number (NIB) and also aims to support efforts to orderly administer government regulations. With this community service activity, it is hoped that it can help business actors in obtaining a Business Identification Number (NIB) without excessive costs or without additional costs. This study uses a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through direct counseling to MSME actors around UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan. The results of this study concluded that the creation of a Business Identification Number (NIB) was intended so that MSMEs around UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan have business legality. The creation of a Business Identification Number (NIB) was carried out independently by researchers using the Online Single Submission (OSS) system. Then the results of the submission of the Business Identification Number (NIB) were printed and given directly to the relevant MSME actors. The Business Identification Number (NIB) is beneficial for MSMEs, because their businesses will receive legal protection as well as business development opportunities, both through training and technical guidance, as well as through financial access, such as the possibility of obtaining capital loans from financial institutions.

Abstract

This community service project addresses the low self-efficacy of junior high school students in learning English, exacerbated by conventional practices that prioritize rote learning over engagement. The program aimed to enhance students' confidence and grammatical competence through a modified GTM approach, integrating mentoring, contextual materials, and collaborative activities. Conducted at SMP YPWKS Cilegon with 38 seventh-grade students, the intervention included three stages: (1) communication and material development, (2) 2-week interactive sessions (pre-test, role-play, bilingual text analysis, post-test), and (3) mixed-method evaluation (statistical analysis, Likert-scale questionnaires). Results showed a significant increase in post-test scores (average +22.3 points, p=0.000), reduced grammatical errors (e.g., tense usage decreased by 43%), and high satisfaction rates (average 4.5/5), particularly regarding mentor support and contextual learning. The project demonstrates that adapting traditional methods with scaffolding and psychosocial support can bridge pedagogical gaps in low-resource settings. Recommendations include extending program duration, integrating digital tools, and expanding collaboration with stakeholders to sustain meaningful outcomes.
