Abstract

Bilingual education in elementary schools aims to form a generation that is proficient in language and ready to face global competition, but its implementation faces various challenges from the internal side of students and the external environment. This study analyzes effective bilingual learning models through literature studies to improve students' language and academic competencies. This study uses a literature study method with a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze various literature related to the implementation of bilingual learning in Indonesia. The bilingual learning model is a systematic framework that combines two languages in the learning process to improve students' academic and language skills in a balanced way. By understanding the advantages and challenges of various models such as Preview-Review, Submersion, Immersion, and Transitional, teachers can choose the most appropriate approach to support student development at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This paper explores the principles of justice applied by the prophets throughout prophetic history, particularly Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Prophet David (AS), and Prophet Solomon (AS). These prophets are known for upholding justice in dispute resolution, regardless of social status or personal interest. Using a qualitative literature study approach, this research reveals that prophetic values of justicesuch as objectivity, equality, wisdom, and protection of the weakare highly relevant as a source of inspiration for modern legal systems. The enforcement of justice should not only be legalistic, but also ethical and spiritual, in order to build a more civilized judiciary. This study recommends the integration of prophetic justice principles into legal education and contemporary judicial reform.

Abstract

Religious Courts in Indonesia were initially only authorized to examine cases related to marriage, inheritance, wills, grants, waqf, zakat, infaq, shadaqah, and sharia economics as regulated in Law Number 7 of 1989 concerning Religious Courts. Along with the development of sharia economic practices in Indonesia, the scope of the authority of the Religious Courts was expanded through Law Number 3 of 2006 which amended Law Number 7 of 1989. This expansion of authority aims to provide legal certainty, legal protection, and easy access to justice for Muslim communities who transact with sharia principles. However, in practice, the Religious Courts are faced with various challenges, both in terms of human resources, judge competence, and overlapping authority with other judicial institutions. This article aims to analyze the scope of the authority of the Religious Courts in resolving sharia economic disputes, the challenges of implementation in the field, and strategies for strengthening the role of the Religious Courts in the future. The research method used is normative juridical with a statutory approach and case studies. The results of the discussion show that the authority of the Religious Court has a high urgency in supporting the sharia financial ecosystem in Indonesia, although it is necessary to update regulations and increase human resource capacity to realize the principles of simple, fast, and low-cost justice.

Abstract

Academic stress is a common condition experienced by elementary school students, particularly within Islamic educational settings that demand both academic and religious achievements. This study aims to explore the experiences of sixth-grade students at MI Baitul Huda in dealing with academic pressure in Islamic Education learning. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis involving selected students. The findings reveal that the main sources of stress stem from the heavy memorization workload, high academic performance expectations, and pressure from teachers and parents. To cope with stress, students adopt various strategies, such as seeking social support from peers and family, as well as engaging in religious coping through prayers and worship. The results highlight the importance of social support and spiritual approaches in helping madrasah students manage academic stress. This study provides a foundational reference for developing Islamic values-based interventions to support the psychological well-being of elementary students in madrasahs.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant transformations in various aspects of life, including global governance. However, this progress also presents complex ethical and regulatory challenges. This study aims to analyze regulatory opportunities and ethical challenges arising from the integration of AI in global governance. It is based on the increasing use of AI across various sectors, such as healthcare, finance, and defense, which raises concerns related to privacy, algorithmic bias, accountability, and global disparities. Without an adequate regulatory framework, the potential misuse of AI could threaten social stability and global security. The objective of this study is to identify opportunities for developing effective and sustainable regulations and to examine the ethical challenges that need to be addressed in AI implementation. The research employs a qualitative methodology with a literature review and policy analysis approach, encompassing a review of existing regulations and case studies. The findings indicate that while AI offers significant opportunities to enhance efficiency and innovation, ethical challenges such as algorithmic bias, lack of transparency, and global inequities remain major obstacles. On the other hand, this study identifies opportunities to strengthen regulatory frameworks through international collaboration, AI ethics standardization, and increased public awareness. The conclusion of this study highlights the importance of a multistakeholder approach in developing inclusive and equitable AI regulations. The proposed policy recommendations include establishing a global oversight body, enhancing AI literacy, and integrating ethical principles into the design and implementation of AI systems.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Marginal Resistance: Resistance of the Sampali Village Community to the Citraland Megapolitan Expansion," and aims to examine the forms of resistance carried out by the Sampali Village community against Citraland's megapolitan expansion. Sampali Village, which is located on the outskirts of the city, is facing serious threats to the sustainability of its people's lives due to this large development project. Village residents, the majority of whom work as farmers and laborers, feel the direct impact of land expropriation that threatens their livelihoods and cultural heritage. This research uses qualitative methods with a case study approach to reveal the dynamics of conflict and resistance strategies implemented by local communities. Research findings show that forms of community resistance include protests, filing petitions, and legal efforts to defend land rights. The Sampali Village community showed strong solidarity and courage in facing pressure from developers. In addition, this research highlights the injustices that often arise in the development process where economic interests dominate without considering the welfare of local communities. The case of Sampali Village reflects the importance of inclusiveness and social justice in every development plan to avoid prolonged conflict and wider negative impacts. Thus, this research contributes to the understanding of marginal resistance and provides important insights for more equitable and sustainable development policies.

Abstract

The problem of shifting the use of the Komering regional language among the younger generation is an important highlight in preserving local cultural diversity. The Komering language has an important role as a cultural heritage that maintains the identity of the Komering ethnic community. This phenomenon is caused by modern environmental pressures such as globalization, urbanization, the dominance of the Indonesian language, and social changes that narrow the space for the Komering language. This study aims to analyze the factors causing the shift in the Komering language among the younger generation. The descriptive qualitative research method was used with data collection through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies. The research informants were the younger generation of Komering language speakers in several areas of South Sumatra. The data were analyzed thematically-inductively to reveal the main themes causing the language shift. The results of the study show several main factors causing the shift in the Komering language. First, the dominance of the Indonesian language in the realm of formal education and mass media encourages the younger generation to use Indonesian more in everyday life. Second, the influence of globalization and information technology (social media, television, internet) strengthens exposure to Indonesian and foreign languages. Third, the attitude of the younger generation who considers the Komering language to have a lower social status compared to Indonesian reduces their interest in learning and using the Komering language. Fourth, the family parenting pattern that tends to use Indonesian in communication with children results in Komering children rarely interacting with Komering language from an early age. Fifth, the mobility of the younger generation to big cities limits the use of Komering language in daily interactions.
