Abstract

The high number of Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) in Indonesia, driven by environmental factors and the vulnerability of the child population, is a serious concern. Children and adolescents in Child Welfare Institutions (LKSA) are at high risk due to crowded conditions and limited facilities. This community service activity aims to increase awareness and practice of ARI prevention among children at the LKSA Panti Asuhan Berkah Palangka Raya. The "PELINDUNG" intervention adopted a comprehensive approach, including the distribution of masks and handwashing soap, as well as interactive health education. Educational materials covered ARI, 6-step Handwashing with Soap (CTPS), and demonstrations of correct mask use, delivered through posters and hands-on practice. Data on participation and initial responses were collected during the activity. The program successfully reached approximately 70 children and adolescents at the LKSA Panti Asuhan Berkah, who demonstrated active participation and positive responses. The provision of essential health facilities was also well received. Results indicated increased awareness and understanding of ARI prevention among participants. This community-based intervention was effective in improving preventive behaviors in vulnerable communities. It is hoped that more structured health support and regular evaluation of educational sustainability can continue to be implemented to improve the health of children and adolescents in LKSA.

Abstract

Stunting remains a major chronic nutritional problem in Indonesia, as it affects physical growth, cognitive development, and the quality of human resources in the future. One effective strategy to prevent stunting is the provision of exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life as part of interventions in the first 1,000 days of life. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge of mothers in the Aisyiyah Islamic study group, Klangenan Branch, Cirebon Regency, regarding the importance of breastfeeding, adequate nutrition, and the role of the first 1,000 days of life in preventing stunting in children. The method used was health education through lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding of the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, appropriate infant feeding practices, and the importance of fulfilling nutritional needs from pregnancy until the child reaches two years of age. With improved maternal knowledge, positive behavioral changes in breastfeeding practices and child nutrition are expected. This activity contributes to promotive and preventive efforts to reduce stunting rates, particularly in Cirebon Regency.

Abstract

Indonesia is experiencing a transition period in criminal law from the Dutch colonial legacy to the new National Criminal Code (KUHP), namely Law No. 1 of 2023. However, information regarding this legal change has not been fully understood by people in rural areas, especially teenagers and youth. This community service aims to increase the legal understanding and awareness of the youth in Negeri Makariki regarding the theories, prohibitions, and sanctions in the new KUHP. The method used is a qualitative-descriptive approach through interactive counseling entitled Legal Talk, coupled with participatory observation of the participants' enthusiasm and responses. The results show that through the delivery of simple materials, participants can understand the fundamental differences between the old and new laws. The youth of Negeri Makariki understand the concept of restorative justice, the rules of limited complaint offenses in morality articles, and criminal threats against everyday problems such as alcohol, narcotics, and theft. This activity successfully straightened out various legal myths in the community and increased the younger generation's vigilance against criminal acts.

Abstract

Nutritional status and growth and development stimulation are important factors influencing the quality of life of children and adolescents. Low parental health literacy regarding nutrition and developmental stimulation may increase the risk of growth disorders, developmental delays, and decreased children’s health-related quality of life (HRQoL). This community service program aimed to improve community knowledge regarding balanced nutrition and child growth and development stimulation through community-based education in Sajen Village, Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency. The program was conducted through interactive health education sessions, discussions, demonstrations of developmental stimulation, and the distribution of educational media in the form of leaflets and booklets. Evaluation was performed using pre-test and post-test methods to assess changes in participants’ knowledge after the intervention. The evaluation results demonstrated an improvement in participants’ understanding of balanced nutrition, growth and development stimulation, and the role of parents in supporting children’s quality of life. The participatory educational approach increased participant engagement and facilitated more effective health information transfer. This activity indicates that community-based nutrition and developmental stimulation education can serve as an effective promotive and preventive strategy to improve public health literacy and support the optimization of children’s growth, development, and quality of life in rural communities.

Abstract

Being wise on social media for teenagers means using digital platforms consciously, responsibly, and in accordance with legal and ethical norms. Teenagers need to understand that every post, comment, and dissemination of information has legal implications, such as the risk of privacy violations, defamation, hate speech, and the spread of hoaxes. This understanding is crucial to ensuring that social media is used positively as a means of expression, education, and social interaction without causing future legal problems. Teenagers who upload content containing insults, accusations, or negative comments about others may be subject to legal sanctions. Posts on social media are considered statements in a public space, so even if made privately or jokingly, they still have the potential to violate the law if they harm the honor of others. The legal consequences include criminal proceedings, fines, and/or imprisonment. Therefore, digital literacy education and parental guidance are essential to help teenagers develop critical thinking, self-control, and ethical awareness in navigating online environments safely and responsibly.

Abstract

Household waste, particularly organic waste, remains an environmental issue that requires proper management. The ineffective management of organic waste in Candijati Village has the potential to cause environmental pollution. In addition, the community has potential in catfish farming that has not been fully utilized. This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of the community in managing household waste through the production of ecoenzyme, its application in managing water quality for catfish cultivation, and the processing of aquaculture products into value-added products such as catfish crackers. The approach used is Service Learning, involving the community directly through training, practical activities, and mentoring. The results of the activity indicate an improvement in community understanding of organic waste management, as well as their ability to utilize ecoenzyme to improve water quality in aquaculture. Furthermore, the community is able to process catfish into crackers with higher selling value and has gained knowledge of product packaging techniques and marketing strategies.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Integrated Dynamic Archival Information System (SRIKANDI) at the Ampek Angkek District Office, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province. SRIKANDI is an official application developed by ANRI, the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, BSSN, and the Ministry of Communication and Informatics as part of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE). This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach through participatory observation and in-depth interviews during Internship II from January to February 2026. The results show that the implementation of SRIKANDI in Ampek Angkek District is still in a transitional phase from a manual to a digital system. Using Edwards III’s model analysis, several obstacles were found, including human resource issues such as low staff digital literacy, organizational culture such as leaders’ preference for manual systems, technical constraints such as complex outgoing letter forms, and disconnected digital workflows between institutions. Supporting factors include easier archive management, high accessibility for leaders, and standardized official document procedures. The Agam Regency Government has conducted socialization since 2023 and plans to expand implementation to the nagari level in order to create an integrated digital archival ecosystem. These findings emphasize the importance of continuous training, technical assistance, and leadership commitment in strengthening the effectiveness of digital archival transformation at the district level in an optimal and sustainable manner.

Abstract

The irrational use of antibiotics is a significant factor in the development of antimicrobial resistance in the community. A low level of knowledge, particularly among adolescents, contributes to the practice of using antibiotics without a prescription and not in accordance with proper guidelines. The objective of this community service activity was to enhance the understanding of pupils at SMK Islam Nurul Iman Lampung Timur, Muara Gading Mas Village, regarding the appropriate use of antibiotics in order to prevent antimicrobial resistance. The method used was health education through interactive lectures, discussions, and the administration of questionnaires before and after the educational session. A total of 30 students participated in this activity. The findings revealed that there was an enhancement in the level of knowledge among students following the educational intervention since the average test result increased from 66.66% to 78.26%. The analysis proved that there was a significant difference between the level of knowledge before and after the educational intervention (p < 0.05).

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve financial literacy among the sandwich generation in Mijen District, Semarang City - a group that simultaneously shoulders the financial responsibilities of three generations. The program adopted a research-based educational approach involving 92 respondents, with the 40-30-20-10 income allocation method serving as the primary intervention tool. Implementation was carried out across four stages: situational analysis, pre-test, an educational workshop with hands-on simulation, and post-test evaluation. The results revealed that participants' average financial literacy scores rose by 83.7% following the intervention, with the most notable gain observed in the emergency fund formation indicator, which reached 116%. These findings affirm that a simulation-based educational approach can meaningfully shift community financial behavior, particularly in managing day-to-day spending and building financial reserves. To sustain these gains, the program recommends ongoing community mentoring as a long-term strategy for reinforcing financial discipline well beyond the workshop itself.
