Abstract

The land movement disasters can cause physical and psychological problems among affected communities, such as anxiety, stress, and fear. These conditions require a holistic nursing approach through trauma healing and health education. This community service activity aimed to improve community understanding regarding post-disaster disease risks while supporting the psychological recovery of the community in Padasari Village, Tegal Regency.The method used was supportive group therapy through educational games in the form of Disease Risk card quizzes containing Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) materials and post-disaster disease risks. The activity involved 20 adults and elderly people affected by land movement disasters.The results showed that participants were enthusiastic, actively interacted, and more easily understood health materials through educational game media. In addition, the activity helped create a relaxed atmosphere and increased community social support. The holistic nursing approach through the Disease Risk educational quiz can serve as a promotive and preventive effort in supporting the physical and psychological recovery of disaster-affected communities. Therefore holistic nursing-based trauma healing through Disease Risk educational quizzes among communities affected by land movement disasters in Padasari Village, Tegal Regency, was able to improve social interaction, health understanding, and support the psychological recovery of the community through an interactive and enjoyable educational atmosphere.

Abstract

The land movement disasters not only cause physical damage but also have psychological impacts on children as a vulnerable group. Children affected by disasters are at risk of experiencing fear, anxiety, stress, and emotional trauma due to environmental changes and the loss of a sense of security after the disaster. This community service activity aimed to support children’s psychological recovery through the implementation of play therapy as a holistic nursing intervention in Padasari Village, Jatinegara District, Tegal Regency. The method used was play therapy with a holistic psychological approach through activities such as coloring, puzzles, balloon games, quizzes, singing together, and group games. This activity involved approximately 25 participants consisting of children and their parents. The results showed that the implementation of play therapy created a supportive and enjoyable environment for children during the post-disaster period. Children who initially appeared fearful, anxious, and less interactive gradually became more active, cheerful, communicative, and enthusiastic in participating in activities. In addition, the holistic nursing approach helped reduce anxiety, improve social interaction, and restore children’s sense of security during the evacuation period. Therefore, play therapy can be used as an effective psychosocial intervention to support trauma healing and psychological recovery among children affected by land movement disasters.

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease with a high incidence rate and is a major factor that increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases. The lack of public awareness, especially in rural areas, regarding the prevention and control of hypertension has become a health issue that requires serious action. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge of the community in Rejasari Village, Purwokerto Barat, regarding hypertension. The activity was conducted on November 22, 2025, involving 20 respondents. The method used in the implementation was community service activities thru health counseling, which included providing material on the understanding of hypertension, risk factors including signs and symptoms, and prevention efforts thru the application of a healthy lifestyle. Education was provided interactively using leaflets and question-and-answer discussions. The pre-test results showed that the community's knowledge was relatively low, with an average of correct answers reaching 61.5%. After the counseling, the post-test results indicated a significant improvement in knowledge, with an average score of 69.8%. This activity demonstrated that the community better understands the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle daily to prevent hypertension. The program is expected to be a sustainable preventive and promotive effort in reducing the risk of hypertension in the Rejasari Village community.

Abstract

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a common vascular complication in individuals with diabetes mellitus and hypertension and may lead to diabetic foot ulcers and limb amputation if not detected early. This community service program aimed to conduct early detection of PAD among high-risk populations through Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) screening and Random Blood Glucose (RBG) testing. The activity was carried out in Sabiano Village, Wundulako Subdistrict, Kolaka Regency, involving 27 participants aged 42–72 years. The methods included measuring systolic blood pressure in the arm and ankle using the MESI ABPI MD device to determine ABI values and assessing RBG levels to identify hyperglycemia. The results showed that most participants had normal ABI values ranging from 0.90 to 1.30. However, one participant had an ABI value below 0.90, indicating a risk of PAD, while five participants had RBG levels of ≥200 mg/dL, suggesting uncontrolled blood glucose levels. These findings indicate the presence of individuals requiring further medical evaluation and follow-up. ABI screening proved to be an effective, practical, and non-invasive method for identifying vascular disorders in at-risk populations. This program highlights the importance of routine screening as a preventive effort to reduce vascular complications and strengthen primary healthcare services through early detection and timely intervention.

Abstract

Drug abuse among adolescents is a serious problem that remains a challenge in the field of education, particularly at the junior high school level. Adolescence, characterized by a high level of curiosity and strong environmental influences, makes this group vulnerable to various forms of illicit substance abuse. This community service activity aims to analyze the effectiveness of drug prevention education at SMP Negeri 1 Palu in enhancing students’ knowledge and awareness of the dangers of drugs. The activity was implemented using a participatory educational approach with four main stages: preparation and coordination, conducting the education session, evaluating effectiveness through pre- and post-tests, and analyzing and reporting the results. The results of this activity indicate a significant increase in students’ knowledge levels following the education session. This is evidenced by improved student ability to understand the types of drugs, their effects, and the legal aspects governing drug abuse. Additionally, observations during the activity also showed increased active student participation in the learning process, reflecting heightened awareness and interest in the material presented. Thus, drug prevention outreach activities have proven effective in enhancing students’ understanding and awareness at SMP Negeri 1 Palu, and can serve as an important preventive strategy in efforts to prevent drug abuse within the school environment. These activities also underscore that an interactive educational approach plays a crucial role in fostering a preventive mindset among the younger generation regarding the dangers of drugs.

Abstract

The community service program through the International Community Service Program (KKN Internasional) at Sanggar Belajar Sungai Buloh Selanggor Malaysia was motivated by the low understanding of national identity, legal awareness, and digital literacy among children of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia. This condition is influenced by limited access to civic education and the diaspora environment, which exposes students more to foreign cultures than Indonesian national values. This program aimed to strengthen national identity and foster patriotism through a Digital Legal Empowerment approach based on digital literacy and basic legal education. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR) with differentiated learning and a Hybrid-Analog approach through interactive digital media, group discussions, simulations, and participatory mentoring. The results showed an increase in student participation in the learning process, understanding of national symbols, citizens’ rights and obligations, and the use of digital media for educational purposes. In addition, the program encouraged the emergence of local leaders within the learning community who assisted the learning process and promoted a collaborative learning culture. This community service program demonstrates that the integration of digital literacy and legal education can be an effective strategy to strengthen nationalism, improve legal awareness, and create social transformation among children of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia.
