Abstract

This study examines the educational system through a comprehensive analysis of four key components: raw input, process instrumental, output, and outcome. The issue addressed in this research lies in the need for an integrated framework capable of explaining how students’ initial characteristics interact with instructional processes to produce both immediate and long-term learning results. The purpose of this study is to provide a systematic conceptual understanding of these components and their interrelations in shaping educational effectiveness. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a conceptual-analytical approach, this article reviews theoretical perspectives from educational psychology, curriculum studies, and systems theory. The findings show that raw input covering students’ physiological, psychological, and sociocultural characteristics significantly influences their readiness to learn. Meanwhile, process instrumental, which includes curriculum design, teacher competence, instructional strategies, and learning environments, serves as a crucial mechanism that transforms student potential into measurable achievements. The study also reveals that output, reflected in academic performance and behavioral changes, does not fully capture the long-term impact of education, making the outcome dimension essential for understanding students’ real-life capabilities and social contributions. This article acknowledges limitations in its conceptual nature and the absence of empirical data, suggesting that future research should empirically test the interactions among these educational components across various educational levels. Such empirical studies are expected to strengthen evidence-based educational policy and practiceAbstrak terdiri dari uraian singkat tentang isu dan tujuan penelitian, metode penelitian dan hasil penelitian. Abstract

This study examines commissive speech acts in President Prabowo Subianto's first speech at the 80th United Nations General Assembly in 2025 using a pragmatic approach. Commissive speech acts were chosen because the speech contains many statements that demonstrate political commitments, diplomatic promises, and Indonesia's strategic plans on global issues. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data consisting of utterances containing commissive elements in the speech. The analysis results show that the commissives that appear include forms of promises, willingness, commitments, and long-term plan statements. These findings indicate that the speech functions not only as a means of conveying information but also as a tool to build a diplomatic image and demonstrate Indonesia's position at the international level. Overall, commissive speech acts play an important role in reinforcing the political message and policy direction that Indonesia aims to assert in the global forum.

Abstract

The development of National Strategic Projects (NSP) requires a substantial amount of land. However, the land acquisition process in Indonesia often encounters the complexity of legal pluralism, particularly in regions where customary law remains deeply rooted, such as West Sumatra, Jambi, and Riau. In West Sumatra, communal and sacred ulayat rights pose significant challenges to the implementation of land acquisition under Law No. 2 of 2012. Similarly, in Jambi and Riau, various forms of customary land rights remain fundamental to local decision-making, which often diverges from state law. This study examines the dynamics of interaction between state law and customary law in NSP land acquisition through a comparative approach. The findings reveal that disharmony between these two legal systems can trigger agrarian conflicts and social resistance, potentially obstructing development. Nevertheless, legal pluralism also provides opportunities for negotiation, adaptation, and the creation of more inclusive models of legal harmonization. This study emphasizes the importance of participatory and responsive approaches in national agrarian policy to ensure that NSP development proceeds in a just manner while respecting local wisdom.

Abstract

This study explores how the Choral Response method affects the development of English speaking skills of students at MTs Pancasila in Bengkulu City. Using a numerical method with a quasi-experimental design, the study involved two separate groups: an experimental group taught with the Choral Response method, and a control group taught using a general teaching approach. Information was collected through initial and final evaluations that assessed five specific aspects of speaking proficiency: pronunciation, fluency, grammatical accuracy, word usage, and comprehension. The results showed that both groups of students improved in their speaking skills, but the experimental group showed significantly greater improvement overall. The experimental group's mean score increased from 60.55 to 82.27, while the control group's mean score increased from 58.00 to 75.18. An isolated sample t-test showed a significant difference between the groups (p = 0.017 < 0.05), which proved the positive influence of the Choral Response method on students' speaking skills. In conclusion, the Choral Response technique effectively enhances students’ pronunciation, fluency, and confidence in speaking English. It is therefore recommended as an interactive and participatory teaching strategy for developing speaking skills at the junior high school student.

Abstract

This study investigates how generative artificial intelligence (AI) interprets, reconstructs, and transforms the vernacular morphology of Bugis traditional architecture. Using a qualitative computational mixed-method design, the research combines field documentation of twenty Bugis houses with image-based generative modeling using diffusion frameworks. The results reveal that AI is capable of reproducing prominent morphological attributes including the saddle-shaped roof, elevated stilt structure, symmetrical façade, and longitudinal spatial axis demonstrating its ability to learn visually salient patterns from architectural datasets. However, significant transformations emerge in elevation, materiality, and spatial orientation, driven largely by algorithmic biases toward modernist forms. More critically, symbolic and cosmological elements central to Bugis architectural ontology such as vertical spatial hierarchy, ritual thresholds, and carved motifs are frequently diminished or omitted, indicating AI’s limited capacity to interpret intangible cultural meaning. Despite these limitations, AI-generated hybrid forms provide valuable speculative insights into potential vernacular futures, suggesting that generative models can function as creative tools when guided by cultural expertise. The study concludes that generative AI offers meaningful opportunities for visualization and design innovation but must be integrated with culturally informed frameworks to ensure ethical and accurate representation of indigenous architectural heritage.

Abstract

This study examines the architectural wisdom embedded in Toraja vernacular traditions and its potential to inspire culturally grounded contemporary design innovation. Using a qualitative interpretive approach that combines field observation, architectural documentation, and interviews with cultural experts, the research identifies the morphological, symbolic, and ecological principles that define the Tongkonan, the traditional Toraja house. The results show that Toraja architecture demonstrates advanced environmental adaptation through elevated timber structures, aerodynamic saddle-shaped roofs, and passive ventilation strategies. Equally significant is its symbolic spatial ordering, which reflects Toraja cosmology and kinship systems, revealing architecture as both a material and cultural construct. The study finds that these vernacular principles align strongly with contemporary design agendas related to sustainability, low-carbon construction, participatory design, and identity-driven architecture. Furthermore, the communal building practices associated with Tongkonan construction illuminate culturally embedded models of social collaboration that hold contemporary relevance. The findings suggest that when interpreted critically and respectfully, Toraja architectural wisdom can function as a catalyst for innovative design solutions that integrate tradition with modern needs. The study concludes that indigenous knowledge should not be viewed as static heritage but as an active resource for shaping contextually meaningful architectural futures. Abstract

In an era of globalization and increasing competition, school readiness has become an essential factor for children’s academic and social success. This article examines the concept of school readiness, which includes cognitive, emotional, social, and physical skills. In Indonesia, regional disparities, cognitive delays, and socioeconomic influences are major challenges in improving children’s school readiness. This study reviews various interventions aimed at enhancing school readiness through a systematic literature review. The research method follows PRISMA guidelines, focusing on education program–based interventions implemented in preschools, kindergartens, and the first year of primary school. The findings indicate that holistic approaches encompassing literacy, self-regulation, executive function, and life skills are key to improving school readiness. Intervention programs such as Getting Ready for School (GRS) and the Sensory Science Project (SSP) have been shown to effectively enhance multiple aspects of children’s readiness. This article provides guidance for practitioners and policymakers to optimize school readiness among children in Indonesia.
