Abstract

Education in schools is planned education which in its implementation involves various components. The presence of students at school to take part in learning activities is one of the factors in student learning success. The main objective of this research is to: Overcome late students in class IX I Semester I of SMP Negeri 8 Denpasar for the 2023/2024 academic year by implementing group counseling services. The data collected in this research is data regarding student learning outcomes using counseling service guidance. The tools used in this method are the Laiseg, Laijapen, Laijapan tools which consist of counseling services, group counseling created by researchers adapted to the subject matter in the syllabus which is implemented at the end of each cycle. Judging from the frequency of scores obtained from research subjects based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of group counseling services can overcome delays in class IX I Semester I students at SMP Negeri 8 Denpasar for the 2022/2023 academic year. This is evident from the results of the data which experienced an increase in each cycle, namely initially 32%, cycle I 59% and in cycle II it reached 91%.

Abstract

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) brings change and development to society. ICT, which ultimately gave birth to social media, causes people's behavior and life patterns to experience a shift in existing culture, ethics and norms. Indonesia, which consists of millions of people and various racial, religious, ethnic and diverse cultures, has great potential opportunities for social change. Social media has a big influence and impact on a culture, both positive and negative. Especially for the Nias ethnic community, social media has influenced almost all existing aspects and fields. One of them is the culture and customs of the Nias tribe which have been influenced by social media. In this era of rapid progress, everyone can follow a style and lifestyle according to something that is considered trendy. This research uses a descriptive method - literature review using a phenomenological approach and reliable reference sources. On this occasion, the author tries to examine socio-cultural changes resulting from the impact and influence of social media on the Nias ethnic community.

Abstract

One of the skills that an educator must have is class management skills. Class management is very important for the continuity of the learning process. Class management is the key to success in learning activities. This research aims to find out how teachers' skills are in managing classes in class IV of SD Negeri 060904 Medan Maimun. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are primary data and secondary data. Primary data sources in this research were obtained through interviews and observations. Meanwhile, secondary data sources are data obtained from library studies such as journals, reports, articles, books and the internet that are related to research. The results obtained from this research are that teacher skills in managing the classroom can be done in two ways, namely: 1) by creating and maintaining ideal or preventive learning conditions, 2) by developing and controlling optimal or repressive learning conditions.

Abstract

This research discusses the influence of the total physical response model on students' descriptive writing abilities. This research refers to the total physical response model which influences students' descriptive writing abilities. Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential. A model is said to be good and suitable if it can lead to the intended goal. The Total Physical Response (TPR) model in studying descriptive writing skills is a better model because it makes students feel happy, free from stress, everything taught can be remembered for a long time, they don't have to think hard to understand and store something, it combines physical movements with intellectual activity and the use of all the senses can have a big impact on learning. The data collection technique was carried out using quantitative descriptive research which objectively describes the results obtained by students in the descriptive writing ability test using the total physical response model. The total physical response model is a learning model that begins with commands or utterances accompanied by movements from the teacher which are then followed by students according to the (motor) movements they have seen from the teacher.

Abstract

Non-formal education has an important role in improving the quality of human resources. However, to achieve this goal, educational tools are needed that can support the creativity of students. This article discusses educational tools that can be used to support the creativity of students in non-formal education. Some of the educational tools covered include verbal and figural creativity tests, non-formal education programs that focus on the needs and interests of learners, practical exercises, effective learning methods, and information technology. Not only that, the use of educational tools needs to pay attention to steps that are appropriate for their purpose. By paying attention to this, educators can support the creativity of students and help them develop skills and knowledge necessary for everyday life. This article is expected to contribute to the development of non-formal education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a learning method applied by teachers aimed at training students' high-level thinking skills. The education system in Indonesia has experienced eleven curriculum changes, starting from 1947 until now. This research will discuss the application of the PBL method to the independent curriculum. The aim of this research is to determine the results of applying the PBL method in aspects of the independent curriculum. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method, this method can describe how educators will implement it with students during teaching and learning activities. The research results related to the application of the PBL problem based learning method in the independent curriculum include several aspects of the independent curriculum, namely basic learning, teaching skills, group targeting, and the use of technology.

Abstract

This study discusses the influence of educational internships on the development of student competencies in the context of higher education. Educational internships are a practical form of learning outside the classroom that provides students with the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in the real world. The aim of this research is to understand the extent to which educational internships contribute to the development of student competencies, including practical skills, analytical abilities, industry understanding, the formation of professional networks, and the cultivation of positive attitudes and work ethics. The results of this study show that educational internships have a significant and positive impact on the development of student competencies. Students who undergo internships experience improvements in practical skills, including interpersonal communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities. They also develop strong analytical skills and gain a deeper understanding of industry dynamics relevant to their field of study. Furthermore, educational internships enable students to build professional networks that can be valuable in their future job searches. Ultimately, internships also play a role in shaping positive attitudes and work ethics. In conclusion, this research underscores the importance of educational internships in helping students prepare for success in the workforce. Institutions of higher education need to recognize their pivotal role in fostering student competency development and collaborate with the business world to provide more relevant and beneficial internship opportunities. Thus, educational internships can be a valuable investment in enhancing students' skills and qualifications.

Abstract

Learning assessment is an important part of the learning process. Appropriate assessment can provide accurate information about student competency achievement. The 2013 curriculum (K-13) learning assessment emphasizes authentic assessment, namely assessment that reflects actual learning. Authentic assessment can increase students' active participation in learning. This research aims to determine the inhibiting and supporting factors for implementing the 2013 curriculum learning assessment in increasing students' active participation. The research uses descriptive qualitative methods using a literature study approach. Based on the research results, the implementation of the 2013 curriculum learning assessment in increasing students' active participation can be carried out well. This is proven by the existence of assessment variables based on indicators for assessing attitudinal competence, knowledge competence and skill competence that students have fulfilled. Apart from that, the implementation of learning assessment in the 2013 curriculum is considered quite influential in increasing students' active participation because it can be seen in students' attitudes, knowledge and skills when receiving or implementing the learning material provided.

Abstract

Parental parenting tends to determine children's attitudes and feelings in their daily lives. Indirectly, parents have a big influence on children's development. Many parents make mistakes in implementing parenting styles towards their children, so that the child's character becomes emotional, rebellious and stubborn. This research aims to analyze good and effective parenting patterns on the character development of early childhood. This research uses a qualitative approach with a focus on semi-structured interviews and participant observation to support and gather information. The research participants were 5 parents who had young children and used different parenting styles. In general, parents apply a democratic parenting style, because they consider this parenting style to be the best for developing a child's character. Through open communication, children will be honest with their parents and obey the rules well. Parents also believe that a democratic parenting style will make children have a high sense of self-confidence, independence and responsibility.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how literacy culture influences the 4C skills of elementary school students. This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The descriptive method is a problem solving procedure by describing the condition of the subject or object of research based on facts that are seen as they really are. The data collection technique uses observation and interview techniques. The research results show that the implementation of literacy culture that has been implemented or carried out is quite effective. From the literacy culture implemented, students have begun to have quite good 4C skills, namely Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity and Innovation.
