Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of government education policies, especially the School Operational Assistance Fund (BOS) and the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP), as well as their impact on increasing the participation of formal education of students at Weggebino State Junior High School, Wegebino District, Paniai Regency. In addition, this study identifies supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of education policies in remote areas. The research uses a qualitative approach with a focus on the effectiveness of policy implementation and its impact on educational participation indicators, including student enrollment, attendance, and retention. The results of the study show that the implementation of education policy is partial. BOS funds are distributed quickly and regularly so that they are able to ensure the sustainability of school operations, supported by the availability of human resources and smooth internal administration. The Indonesia Pintar program has proven to contribute positively to increasing student attendance, especially for students from underprivileged families. In terms of impact, education policies and school performance in general have succeeded in increasing the number of new student enrollments, which reflects increasing public trust in formal educational institutions. However, the effectiveness of the policy is still limited by a number of inhibiting factors, especially the limitations of physical school facilities such as desks and chairs, geographical access and transportation barriers that have an impact on the delay in student attendance, and the absence of physical assistance in the form of books and learning tools. On the other hand, strong support from parents and the community as well as the smooth internal administration of the school are the main supporting factors for the successful implementation of education policies at Weggebino State Junior High School.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of applying Cognitive Behavior Modification (CBM) using the self-instruction technique in reducing academic procrastination behavior among students of Madrasah Aliyah Sehati Maros. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest–posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of 20 students divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected using an academic procrastination scale developed based on Ferrari’s theory and were supported by observations and interviews conducted during the intervention process. Data analysis techniques included descriptive analysis, normality tests, homogeneity tests, t-tests, and effect size calculations. The results showed that the level of academic procrastination in the experimental group decreased significantly from the high category in the pretest to the low category in the posttest, while the control group remained in the high category. These findings indicate that the application of the Cognitive Behavior Modification approach with the self-instruction technique is effective and significant in reducing academic procrastination behavior among students. This study provides practical implications for guidance and counseling services in madrasahs in developing cognitive-behavioral–based interventions to enhance students’ learning discipline and academic responsibility.

Abstract

The dynamic and experience-based nature of the tourism industry requires higher education graduates to possess comprehensive career readiness, encompassing not only technical competencies but also strong career engagement and meaning-making. However, career guidance services in higher education remain largely informational and insufficiently experience-oriented. This study aims to analyze the effects of integrating digital-based personalized, immersive, and memorable marketing approaches into career guidance services on career engagement and career readiness among tourism students. This study employed a quantitative survey design involving undergraduate students enrolled in tourism-related programs at higher education institutions. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to examine the relationships among variables. The findings indicate that digital-based personalized, immersive, and memorable marketing significantly and positively influence students’ career engagement. Furthermore, career engagement was found to have a significant effect on career readiness and to function as a mediating variable that strengthens the influence of the three approaches. Among the three approaches, immersive marketing demonstrated the strongest effect on career engagement. These results highlight the importance of developing career guidance and counseling services that emphasize experiential learning, personalization, and emotional meaning through the effective use of digital technologies. Practically, this study provides valuable implications for higher education institutions and career counselors in designing innovative, adaptive, and student-centered career services to enhance graduates’ readiness to enter the tourism workforce.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the internal mechanisms that shape exemplary behavior (Uswatun Hasanah) among prospective Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teacher students. Using a mixed methods approach with a Concurrent Triangulation design, this study integrates a quantitative analysis of the influence of Spiritual Self-Efficacy on Modeling Behavior with a qualitative exploration of Tazkiyatun Nafs (purification of the soul) strategies. The results of the quantitative analysis indicate a very strong and significant relationship (r = 0.987; p < 0.01) between spiritual self-efficacy and exemplary behavior, with an R-squared value of 0.974, indicating that 97.4% of the variation in exemplary behavior can be explained by spiritual self-efficacy. Qualitative findings reveal that the Tazkiyatun Nafs strategy, through the phases of Takhalli (purification from vile traits), Tahalli (adornment with virtuous traits), and Tajalli (attainment of spiritual closeness), functions as a strengthening path that transforms abstract beliefs into authentic, concrete actions. The synergy between Bandura’s social cognitive theory and Al-Ghazali’s Sufi concepts affirms that the formation of the Uswatun Hasanah character is an inside-out process, in which internal spiritual strength is the primary determinant of PAI teachers’ professional integrity.

Abstract

The global geopolitical crisis, marked by armed conflict, ideological polarization, and increasing global intolerance, poses serious challenges for education in instilling humanitarian and peace values. In the Indonesian national context, the phenomena of radicalism, religious exclusivism, and the weak internalization of moderate religious values indicate that Islamic Religious Education needs to be reactualized to present Islamic teachings as a blessing for all nature. Therefore, a study of the reactualization of the Rahmatan Lil Alamin value in Islamic Religious Education is crucial as an effort to strengthen an inclusive, humanistic, and civilized educational orientation. This study aims to analyze the concept, strategy, and relevance of the reactualization of the Rahmatan Lil Alamin value in Islamic Religious Education amidst the dynamics of the global geopolitical crisis. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review. Data sources come from the Quran, Hadith, scientific books, journal articles, and relevant academic documents. Data were collected through documentation techniques, analyzed using content analysis and thematic analysis, and validated through source triangulation and diligent literature review. The results of this study indicate that the reactualization of the Rahmatan Lil Alamin value in Islamic Religious Education can be achieved through strengthening the paradigm of religious moderation, integrating universal humanitarian values into the curriculum, and developing dialogic and contextual learning practices. The implications of this research confirm its theoretical contribution to the development of an Islamic Religious Education paradigm oriented toward global peace, as well as its practical contribution to strengthening students' inclusive character in facing global geopolitical dynamics.

Abstract

The revitalization of Islamic art in the development of culturally value-based Islamic Religious Education (ISRE) has become a strategic issue in a global context marked by cultural homogenization and an identity crisis, as well as in a national context facing the challenges of value degradation and minimal integration of local culture into learning. The urgency of this study lies in the need to present an approach to Islamic Religious Education that is contextual, humanistic, and adaptive to cultural diversity. This research aims to analyze the role of Islamic art as a medium for revitalizing cultural values in the development of ISRE and its contribution to the formation of student character. The methodology employed a qualitative approach with literature studies, sourced from books, scientific articles, and relevant documents, and data collection through documentation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically through reduction, categorization, and interpretation. Data validity was maintained through source triangulation and diligent observation. The results indicate that Islamic art has integrative potential in internalizing aesthetic, spiritual, and social values that strengthen cultural identity. These implications provide theoretical contributions to the development of the concept of culture based ISRE, as well as practical contributions to contextual learning innovations relevant to the dynamics of contemporary education and the needs of Indonesia's current multicultural society.

Abstract

This study examines the Take and Give strategy as a character education model for mitigating mild bullying indicators in early childhood at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Tegalrejo. Grounded in Lickona's character education theory and Vygotsky's sociocultural perspective, the research addresses the gap between institutional character values and children's developing social behaviors. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews with the principal and teacher, direct classroom observations, and document analysis. Findings reveal that mild bullying manifestations—such as teasing, reluctance to share, and object-snatching—reflect children's social-emotional developmental challenges rather than intentional aggression. The Take and Give strategy, implemented through structured peer exchanges of cards, objects, and information, effectively cultivates prosocial behaviors including sharing, cooperation, empathy, and respectful communication. Children demonstrated increased willingness to share, enhanced peer interaction, and reduced tendencies toward teasing following strategy implementation. Success factors include institutional alignment with character education goals, consistent teacher scaffolding, and integration within the school's cultural framework. While some children require continued individualized support, the strategy offers a simple, cost-effective, and contextually grounded approach for fostering positive social development. This study contributes to early childhood character education research by repositioning Take and Give from an active learning technique to a pedagogical instrument for bullying prevention through repeated, meaningful social experiences.

Abstract

School facility play an important role in supporting educational quality, student wellbeing, and learning effectiveness. However, challenges related to the availability, management, and sustainability of educational facilities remain evident in many Indonesian school. This study aims to systematically review previous studies on school facility availability and management in Indonesia using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The review followed the PRISMA framework through the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Literature searches were conducted using four databases, namely Scopus, Google Scholar, ERIC, and ProQuest. A total 0f 12 studies underwent the quality appraisal process using an adapted version of the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) checklist, in which three low-quality studies were excluded, resulting in nine studies in the final thematic synthesis. The findings indicate that school facilities in Indonesia continue to face challenges related to infrastructure disparities, inadequate sanitation and learning facilities, weak maintenance practices, and disaster-related vulnerabilities, particularly in border, disaster-prone, and underserved areas. The review also reveals that school facility management practices remain largely operational and fragmented, focusing primarily on maintenance, utilization, supervision, and budgeting process. In addition, school facilities were found to influence students’ learning experiences, well-being, literacy engagement, and participation in educational activities. Overall, this study highlights the importance of strengthening sustainable facility management systems, equitable infrastructure development, and resilience-oriented educational policies to support safe, inclusive, and effective learning environments in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Qur'an learning strategy in improving the ability to read and memorize the Qur'an in deaf students. The hearing limitations possessed by deaf students require an adaptive and communicative learning approach so that the learning process can take place effectively. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study showed that the learning strategies applied included the use of sign language, the use of lip movements and visualization, individual assistance (talaqi), memorization repetition (murojaah/tikrar), and the provision of motivation and rewards. This strategy has been proven to help deaf students in understanding the pronunciation of hijaiyah letters, improving reading articulation, and improving the ability to read and memorize the Qur'an. Thus, the application of adaptive, visual, and individual-mentoring-based learning strategies is an important factor in supporting the success of learning the Qur'an for deaf students.
