Abstract

This study aims to explore the management strategies of coastal areas in supporting the transition toward a green economy in Gunungkidul Regency. The management of coastal zones often faces challenges in balancing economic development with environmental sustainability. Therefore, a strategic approach that integrates social, economic, and ecological dimensions is essential. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with local stakeholders, and the analysis of relevant policy documents. The findings reveal that the local government has implemented various strategies, such as enhancing active community participation in planning and monitoring, promoting participatory coastal ecosystem conservation, and integrating social values into policy formulation. These strategies are consistent with green economy principles emphasizing resource efficiency, low carbon emissions, and social equity. Moreover, efforts to strengthen local institutional capacities and foster environmentally-based microenterprises are integral components of the transition strategy. The main challenges identified include limited public literacy on sustainability, inadequate access to green technologies, and weak cross-sectoral coordination. The study concludes that strengthening multi-sector collaboration, increasing public education, and aligning policies with green development goals are essential to the successful implementation of the green economy in coastal areas. These findings are expected to provide strategic input for local governments and policymakers in designing inclusive and sustainable coastal development programs.

Abstract

The advancement of technology and the digital competency dynamics of Generation Z have rendered the role of instructors in the Knowledge Sharing (KS) process at Vocational Training Centers (BLK) increasingly vital. Given that the majority of trainees are members of Generation Z, while the instructors largely belong to the millennial generation (Generation Y), an adaptive attitude from instructors during the KS process in class becomes essential. The intended outcome of the learning process at BLK is to ensure that students understand and are able to implement practical materials, thereby maximizing their application in the workplace. This study aims to explore the KS process conducted by millennial instructors at BLKs in three designated zones: Medan in the western zone, Bekasi City in the central zone, and Sorong City in the eastern zone. The selection of BLKs in each city was determined using purposive sampling, resulting in randomly selected training centers. A qualitative approach was employed, including direct observation in the western and central zones and interviews with a total of 15 informants—five from each zone—comprising one Generation X instructor, two millennial (Generation Y) instructors, and two Generation Z students. Data were analyzed using source triangulation by validating interview transcripts to obtain comprehensive and accurate information. The findings reveal that the effective use of technology, flexibility in teaching methods, engaging and interactive tools, and an open attitude towards questions and criticism are key factors contributing to an optimal KS process. It is expected that the results of this study can serve as constructive recommendations for the respective BLKs.

Abstract

The rapid digital transformation in the Society 5.0 era presents both challenges and opportunities in the field of education, particularly in shaping students' character. This paper aims to offer integrative strategies for embedding Qur’anic values into the character education system as a solution to the moral degradation and identity crisis emerging in the digital age. Using literature review and content analysis methods on verses of the Qur’an, it is found that the Qur’an provides a strong foundation for character development, promoting honesty, responsibility, compassion, and discipline as essential traits for students to navigate the complexities of modern life. By internalizing these values, students are expected to develop critical thinking, ethical awareness, and social responsibility when engaging with technology and information. This article suggests that Islamic education curricula should position Qur’anic values as the core of character reinforcement, not merely as an additional element of spiritual practice. Educators, parents, and communities are encouraged to collaborate in creating learning environments that reflect and nurture these values consistently. Through an integrated approach, this paper hopes to contribute to strengthening the character of students so they are prepared to face global challenges without losing their identity and moral compass in the digital era

Abstract

This study aims to analyze character education programs, with a specific focus on fostering and enhancing students’ sense of responsibility through the 5E instructional model developed by Bybee. The 5E model comprising five phases: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate serves as a structured framework to support learning and behavioral development. At SMA Khalifa IMS, this model was intentionally integrated into several key programs and school activities such as the student council (OSIS), weekly flag ceremonies, live music sessions, Mukhoyyam Qur’an, Ramadan Camps, and Indonesian Independence Day celebrations. A qualitative research approach was employed, using program observation as the primary data collection method. Observations revealed that each stage of the 5E model plays a vital role in facilitating the internalization of responsibility among students. For instance, the Engage and Explore phases allowed students to reflect on real-life scenarios requiring accountability, while the Explain and Elaborate phases helped deepen their understanding through dialogue and practice. The Evaluate stage offered opportunities for feedback and self-assessment, reinforcing their growth. The findings suggest that the 5E model not only helps students grasp the theoretical aspects of responsibility but also promotes its consistent application in diverse school-life contexts. As a result, students develop a stronger sense of personal and collective responsibility. Implementing this model in character education enhances the learning experience and contributes to the cultivation of resilient, reflective, and responsible individuals.

Abstract

Indonesia's coffee industry has grown a lot because more people are using the internet and there is a lot of competition among local brands that use social media to promote their products. Brand24 is a media monitoring tool that will be used in this study to look at how well two top coffee brands, Fore Coffee and Kopi Kenangan, are doing on social media. The study looks at seven important factors from May to June 2025: engagement rate, reach, sentiment analysis, content strategy, hashtag performance, influencer involvement, and brand mentions. It uses a mixed-method methodology. Kopi Kenangan has the most brand mentions (1,667) and social media reach (4.1 million), whereas Fore Coffee has the most positive sentiment (53% vs. 36%) and non-social media coverage. Kopi Kenangan has a volume-driven strategy that focuses on community participation, while Fore Coffee uses episodic marketing to build emotional connections and a high-end brand image. There isn't a clear market leader because both brands have about the same amount of voice. The study says that Kopi Kenangan could work on making its advertising more positive, and Fore Coffee should use its high brand equity to reach more people. The research recommends Kopi Kenangan improve content quality to enhance sentiment, while Fore Coffee should leverage its strong brand equity for more aggressive market expansion. Some problems with this study are that it only looked at two brands and only for a short time. This suggests that further studies should be done in the future.

Abstract

The national education goal in Indonesia is to create a society that is religious, moral, knowledgeable, and skilled. Moreover, the system aims to produce individuals who are physically and spiritually healthy, possess strong character, and carry a sense of responsibility. To realize these aspirations, curriculum development plays a central role in shaping the direction and quality of education. One of the inseparable aspects of advancing the national education system is policy-making related to curriculum design and implementation. As a critical component of education, the curriculum holds a strategic position and significantly influences the overall quality of learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the impact of curriculum development on the quality of education in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach, the research is based on a literature review involving academic publications, government documents, and relevant policy reports. The findings suggest that curriculum changes can have both positive and negative effects on education quality, depending on how well the curriculum aligns with the needs of learners, educators, and national goals. Positive impacts include the enhancement of learning competencies, adaptability to global challenges, and the promotion of holistic student development. On the other hand, challenges arise when curriculum reforms are implemented hastily or without adequate support for teachers and institutions. Therefore, curriculum development must be based on comprehensive planning and supported by effective policy implementation to improve the quality of education sustainably.

Abstract

Indonesia is geographically situated in a disaster-prone region due to its position at the convergence of multiple tectonic plates and its tropical climate, which features both wet and dry seasons. Natural disasters frequently impact areas with vulnerable populations, and such events often exacerbate the existing vulnerabilities within those communities. These vulnerabilities typically arise from unsafe physical environments, limited economic resources, and weak social structures. Internal and external pressures such as underdeveloped local institutions and a lack of essential disaster management skills further contribute to these risks. As part of national development efforts, disaster management policies encompass a continuum of actions taken before, during, and after disasters. In this context, the Batu City Government faces considerable challenges in managing recurring natural hazards. Despite the importance of proactive disaster risk reduction strategies, various implementation barriers persist. One critical aspect that requires improvement is routine disaster mitigation, which aims to reduce potential impacts and increase public awareness. An effective method is conducting regular outreach and education programs covering all disaster phases pre-disaster, emergency response, and post-disaster recovery. However, the local disaster management agency (BPBD) in Batu City infrequently conducts such awareness campaigns. Consequently, when disasters strike, the community often remains unprepared, leading to more severe consequences, financial losses, and even fatalities. To address these issues, it is essential for the Batu City Government to enhance its collaborative efforts with various stakeholders to ensure more robust and inclusive disaster mitigation measures.

Abstract

The transformation of population administration services is a strategic step in improving the quality of public services in the digital era. Before the implementation of e-government, population administration services in Tangerang City faced various challenges, such as slow service processes, complicated bureaucracy, and limited public access to services. This study aims to analyze the transformation process of population administration services through the implementation of e-government, using the Sobat Dukcapil service in Tangerang City as a case study. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to community members who have used the Sobat Dukcapil service. The results indicate that digitalization of services through Sobat Dukcapil has improved efficiency, transparency, and accountability, as well as accelerated the processing of population documents. However, challenges remain, such as the digital literacy gap among the community and limitations in technological infrastructure. Efforts to enhance digital literacy and strengthen infrastructure are key to sustaining this transformation. The study recommends development of service features, enhancement of human resource capacity, and continuous socialization to support the optimal implementation of e-government in the field of population administration. Furthermore, it is important to involve the community in this transformation process so that they can understand and utilize the available services. Thus, population administration services are expected to be more responsive to community needs and contribute to improving the overall quality of life for the residents of Tangerang City. This transformation will not only accelerate administrative processes but also build public trust in the government.

Abstract

The school climate plays a crucial role in shaping students' learning experiences. This article examines the school climate in Indonesia, emphasizing the importance of a healthy, safe, and supportive learning environment. Based on literature and empirical data, the study found that, despite significant efforts to improve the quality of the school climate, challenges remain. Key issues requiring attention include the quality gap in education between urban and rural areas, lack of physical facilities, bullying, and students' emotional well-being. A conducive school climate is a prerequisite for optimal learning. This article discusses the relationship between the social environment in schools and the formation of a climate that supports learning. A generative social field is created by the active and authentic presence of educators and other adults in schools. These individuals play a crucial role in fostering a safe and productive learning environment for students. The concept of "showing up" or meaningful presence is used to understand the role of teachers and staff in creating this social field. This paper emphasizes that learning activities are social by nature and that how teachers present themselves greatly influences students' readiness to learn.

Abstract

Digitalization is one of the main pillars in the development of a modern city. Palembang City, as one of the big cities in Indonesia, has started its journey towards implementing the Smart City concept. The main objective of this study is to determine the efforts that have been made by the government in the development of digitalization in Palembang City by identifying supporting and inhibiting factors that influence the success of the digitalization program, as well as formulating policy recommendations to increase the effectiveness of digitalization development in the future. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with stakeholders, policy document analysis, and literature studies. Research informants include city government officials, namely the Palembang City Communication and Information Office and academics as well as lecturers and the community of digital service users in free access places. In addition, secondary data were obtained from official government reports, journal articles, and current news relevant to the digitalization program in Palembang. There are 6 dimensions in the concept of a smart city according to Griffinger et al. (2007:10-14), namely, smart environment, smart mobility, smart government, smart economy, smart people, and smart living. all of these concepts are interrelated with each other. The results of the study show that digitalization increases the efficiency of public services, transparency, and community participation. However, there are challenges such as the digital divide and low technological literacy in some groups of society.
