Abstract

Grade XII students often experience emotional pressure when preparing for university entrance examinations, which may trigger anxiety, negative thoughts, and difficulties in managing emotions. This community service program aimed to improve students’ knowledge and emotion regulation skills through psychoeducation based on creative-expressive activities. A pre-experimental method with a one-group pre-test–post-test design was employed involving 10 Grade XII students in District X, Central Kalimantan. The program was conducted in four sessions combining material delivery, discussion, emotional reflection, and creative activities. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge and emotion regulation skills after participating in the psychoeducation program. These findings indicate that psychoeducation based on creative-expressive activities has the potential to serve as an effective preventive intervention to help students regulate their emotions more adaptively when facing the pressures and demands of university entrance examination preparation, while also strengthening their psychological readiness to undergo the challenging higher education selection process.

Abstract

Environmental health is a key factor influencing people’s quality of life, yet low awareness of hygiene and the underutilisation of vacant land remain challenges. This Community Service Programme (PkM) aims to strengthen environmental health through vegetable planting and clean-up initiatives around Sunan Giri University in Surabaya. The method employed is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) to optimise local potential. The programme stages include planning, asset identification, outreach, planting activities, and joint environmental clean-ups involving students and local residents. The programme’s results demonstrate increased awareness and active community participation in maintaining cleanliness and utilising vacant land productively. In addition to improving physical conditions, these activities strengthen social bonds and foster a sense of shared responsibility. This PkM is expected to serve as a first step in promoting clean and healthy living habits to create a sustainable community environment.

Abstract

Shortness of breath is a common symptom associated with various respiratory disorders and can be managed through complem entary therapies, one of which is simple inhalation using peppermint (Mentha piperita) aromatherapy. However, the knowledge of commu nity health volunteers regarding this technique remains limited. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge of health volunteers about simple inhalation as a non-pharmacological approach to help relieve shortness of breath at home. The activity was conducted on June 7, 2026, in RW 06, Babakan Sari Block, Batujajar Barat Village, West Bandung Regency, involving 10 health volunteers selected through total sampling. The training consisted of lectures, discussions, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and pre-test and post-test evaluations. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants' knowledge, with the proportion of volunteers in the good knowledge category increasing from 20% to 70%, while no participants remained in the poor category after the training. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference (p = 0.02). Furthermore, all participants were able to perform the simple inhalation technique according to the prescribed procedure. The training was effective in enhancing the knowledge and practical skills of health volunteers in providing community health education.

Abstract

Students' low learning interest at SMP Negeri 2 Baubau is not solely associated with individual motivation but is also influenced by the weak internalization of academic cultural capital, as reflected in limited literacy practices, low classroom participation, and minimal student engagement in the learning process. This community service program aimed to enhance students' learning interest through strengthening school culture based on the internalization of cultural capital. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of preliminary observation, coordination with the school, and the implementation of three main intervention activities: contextual literacy development, the establishment of learning habits through discussions, presentations, and reflective learning, and the reinforcement of academic culture by promoting dialogic pedagogical relationships and recognizing students' active participation. The program outcomes indicated increased student engagement in classroom activities, improved reading and discussion habits, greater confidence in expressing ideas, and the creation of a more participatory learning environment. These findings demonstrate that strengthening cultural capital through sustained academic practices and supportive school culture can serve as an effective strategy for fostering students' learning interest

Abstract

This study aims to explore how collaborative innovation can create a funding space that serves to strengthen the research and innovation culture of students in higher education. Data were collec ted through indepth interviews, document studies, and participant observation to obtain a comprehensive picture of the dynamics of collaborative funding. The results show that collaborative funding spaces not only provide financial support but also strengthen students' motivation, academic networks, and innovative orientation. Students who receive funding support tend to produce more varied research outputs, ranging from publications and prototypes to simple patents, and are more actively involved in national and international scientific forums. Furthermore, multi-stakeholder involvement has been shown to increase the relevance of student research to the needs of society and industry. This study concludes that collaborative funding plays a role as a catalyst for the creation of a sustainable and competitive student research ecosystem. The recommendations put forward are the need for a more structured, integrative, & sustain ability-oriented collaborative funding model, with strong synergy between academia, government, industry, and the community.
