Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Minister of Trade Regulation Number 51/M-DAG/PER/7/2015 regarding the trade of used clothing on the TikTok platform and to examine the practice from a Sharia economic perspective. The study is motivated by the prevalence of imported used clothing sales via e-commerce—activities that contravene existing regulations yet remain popular among the public due to pricing and trends. A literature review method employing a normative-juridical approach was used, analyzing primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials through a descriptive-qualitative lens. The findings indicate that regulatory implementation remains ineffective due to weak oversight, low awareness among business actors and consumers, and the ease of digital transactions facilitated by features such as live streaming and marketplaces. From a Sharia economic perspective, this practice potentially conflicts with Maqasid Sharia principles—specifically hifzh an-nafs (protection of life), hifzh al-mal (protection of wealth), and hifzh al-bi’ah (protection of the environment)—as it poses health risks, undermines local industries, and potentially increases textile waste. Strengthening regulations, enhancing digital-based oversight, and educating the public are essential to ensure that trading practices in the digital era are conducted more ethically and safely, in accordance with legal principles and Sharia economic values.

Abstract

Contemporary consumer culture has shaped a lifestyle that positions consumption and material possession as sources of meaning and happiness, thereby blurring the distinction between needs and wants and precipitating a spiritual and ethical crisis. Modernity has brought about fundamental changes in how people derive meaning from life, particularly regarding the understanding of pleasure and life's purpose. Addressing this issue, this paper examines the concept of shukr (gratitude) within the Sufi teachings of Sheikh Abd al-Shamad al-Palimbani, offering it as a spiritual critique of contemporary consumer culture. The study employs a qualitative approach based on a literature review, analyzing al-Palimbani’s seminal works—specifically Hidayat al-Salikin and Siyar al-Salikin—through content analysis and contextual reading. The findings reveal that, in al-Palimbani’s Sufism, gratitude is not merely a verbal expression but encompasses inner awareness, verbal acknowledgment, and the ethical utilization of blessings in a spirit of obedience. Within this framework, gratitude is positioned as a spiritual-ethical category in Nusantara Sufism that critically challenges the logic of consumer culture, fosters an attitude of qana‘ah (contentment), and reconfigures the human relationship with the material world. This underscores the enduring relevance of Sufism as an ethical and spiritual framework for addressing contemporary challenges.

Abstract

The issuance of the Head of BKAP Decree Number 020 of 2026 brings about a fundamental reorientation of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum structure at the primary education level. The substance and new direction of instruction outlined in this regulation have not yet been operationally mapped out for educators in the field. This study aims to dissect the essential content of the five PAI elements (Phases A–D) and formulate instructional implications, particularly regarding teaching materials. A qualitative research method was employed, utilizing content analysis of the new regulation (Head of BKAP Decree No. 020 of 2026). The findings reveal three major substantive reorientations: 1) a shift in Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) material from a theoretical-cognitive focus to a contextual-applicative one; 2) the structural integration of religious moderation from an early stage—incorporating values of al-samhah (tolerance) and humanity—within the Akhlaq (Morals) and History of Islamic Civilization (SPI) elements; and 3) content simplification based on cognitive load theory to strengthen the affective domain of students. The practical implication of this regulation is that primary education units (elementary and junior high schools) are required to completely reconstruct their Learning Objective Flow (ATP) and redesign teaching modules based on authentic performance assessments.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the differing views held by two scholars—both belonging to the Shafi’i school of thought, namely Sheikh Muhammad Sa’id Ramadan al-Buti and Sheikh Ali Jumu’ah—regarding the ruling on the use of the face veil (niqab) by Muslim women. In Islam, clothing serves as a means to cover the awrah (intimate parts of the body that must be concealed), as commanded in the Qur’an—specifically Surah Al-Ahzab, verse 59, which establishes the obligation for Muslim women to cover their awrah using the jilbab. However, there are differing scholarly interpretations regarding the boundaries of the awrah, particularly whether the face and hands fall within the scope of what must be covered. Sheikh Ali Jumu’ah maintains that the face and hands are not part of the awrah; thus, the face veil is not obligatory but rather an Arab tradition that need not be adopted. Conversely, Sheikh al-Buti asserts that the face veil is mandatory to preserve modesty and prevent fitnah (temptation or social discord) in the modern era. These divergent views necessitate an in-depth examination of the istidlal (legal inference) methods and legal arguments employed by both scholars in establishing their respective rulings. The research questions addressed in this thesis are: What are the views of Sheikh Muhammad Sa’id Ramadan al-Buti and Sheikh Ali Jumu’ah regarding the ruling on the use of the face veil for Muslim women? How can the istidlal methods of Sheikh Muhammad Sa’id Ramadan al-Buti and Sheikh Ali Jumu’ah be analyzed? This study is a form of library research utilizing a qualitative approach with a descriptive-comparative method. The primary sources consist of works by Sheikh Muhammad Sa’id Ramadan al-Buti and Sheikh Ali Jumu’ah relevant to the study, while secondary sources include works by other thinkers addressing the ruling on the face veil. Research findings reveal that Sheikh Sa’id Ramadan al-Buthi views the face veil (niqab) as part of Sharia, basing this on a textual and contextual understanding of Quranic verses and Hadith, as well as considerations of public interest (maslahah) regarding the preservation of honor and the prevention of fitnah (social discord or temptation) within the current social context of the Muslim community. His method of legal derivation (istinbath) integrates scriptural evidence with social realities to establish the obligation of the face veil for Muslim women. Conversely, Sheikh Ali Jum’ah asserts that the face veil is not a Sharia obligation but rather a cultural tradition lacking definitive (qath’i) scriptural evidence mandating it. He distinguishes between the hijab—which is obligatory—and the face veil—which is a recommended (sunnah) choice—while emphasizing the importance of considering social context and custom (‘urf) in determining the ruling on the face veil and rejecting excessive attitudes that could lead to communal division. Thus, this study highlights fundamental differences in the views and legal derivation methods of the two scholars, reflecting the dynamics of ijtihad and the diversity of interpretations within contemporary fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence).

Abstract

This article examines the pronouncement of talak (divorce) via legal counsel (advocate) from the perspectives of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and Indonesian positive law. The central issue addressed is the divergence in views between Islamic law and Indonesian positive law regarding the validity of pronouncing talak through a representative—specifically an advocate. Under fiqh, talak is the husband's prerogative and cannot be delegated to another party; thus, executing talak through a representative, including an advocate, is generally not permitted. Conversely, in the practice of Indonesian positive law—particularly within Religious Courts—there is scope for advocates to represent clients during divorce proceedings, including the pronouncement of talak, provided there is a specific power of attorney and applicable legal procedures are followed. This study employs a library research methodology with a descriptive-qualitative approach. Data were gathered from primary sources, such as classical Islamic texts and statutory regulations, as well as secondary sources, including academic journals and articles. A descriptive and comparative analysis was conducted to examine the research subject in depth. The findings indicate that, in general, both classical Islamic law and Indonesian positive law require a clear, specific power of attorney from the husband to the representative or advocate for the pronouncement of talak, primarily to provide legal protection for husbands unable to appear in court personally. However, Islamic law restricts talak representation to emergency situations subject to strict conditions, whereas positive law is more flexible and pragmatic, allowing it provided administrative requirements and the reasons for the husband's absence are met and substantiated by a special power of attorney. The implementation of talak pronouncement via representation represents a legal innovation that facilitates the husband's lawful filing for divorce under strict court supervision, thereby ensuring the husband's intent is honored while protecting the rights of the wife and children. While this practice reflects a harmonization of Islamic legal principles and national law in a modern context, it also presents challenges—such as the potential for abuse of authority—necessitating standardization, rigorous oversight, and heightened professional accountability among advocates to guarantee justice and legal certainty.

Abstract

Muslims, as the religious majority in Indonesia, face challenges posed by the missionary activities of other faith groups, particularly Christians. Meanwhile, globalization, easy access to information, and increasing interfaith interaction necessitate a generation of *da’is* (Islamic preachers) who possess not only an understanding of and commitment to Islamic studies but also the intellectual competence to comprehend other religions in a balanced and objective manner. A recurring issue is the limited literacy regarding Christology and the dynamics of missionary movements; consequently, responses to these matters are often emotional rather than grounded in accurate knowledge. This community service initiative aims to enhance the understanding and intellectual acuity of santri (Islamic boarding school students) regarding the fundamentals of Christology and the characteristics of missionary movements from an academic perspective, while also fostering a da’wah (preaching) paradigm that is argumentative, courteous, and knowledge-based. The activity was conducted as an interactive seminar at the Nurul Bayan Islamic Boarding School in North Lombok. The methodology employed included lectures, dialogue, case studies, and question-and-answer sessions. The results indicate increased participant enthusiasm for the study of religions, a growing awareness of the importance of mastering the subject matter prior to engaging in da’wah, and an improved ability among participants to identify contemporary challenges facing da’wah.

Abstract

Aquaponics is a cultivation system that integrates fish farming and vegetable production within a single ecosystem, requiring stable water quality to support optimal plant growth and fish survival. Fluctuations in water pH and temperature are among the primary factors that can inhibit lettuce growth and reduce the living conditions of catfish. This study aims to utilize Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and an ESP32 microcontroller to monitor and automatically control water pH and temperature in an aquaponic system. The proposed system employs a pH sensor and a water temperature sensor for data acquisition, while the ESP32 serves as the main controller to process sensor readings and activate relays for pump operation based on the detected conditions. The water pH is maintained within the range of 6.5– 7.5, whereas the water temperature is controlled between 22°C and 28°C. When the measured pH or temperature exceeds the predefined thresholds, the system automatically activates the corresponding pump until the water parameters return to their normal ranges. The testing results indicate that the proposed system is capable of performing real-time water quality monitoring and automatic control according to the specified parameters. The implementation of this system is expected to maintain water quality stability, reduce manual intervention, and support the optimal growth of lettuce and the sustainability of catfish cultivation in aquaponic systems

Abstract

Traditional medicine represents a longstanding cultural heritage of the Indonesian people, and its utilization continues to expand alongside growing public awareness of natural-based treatment. Moringa (Moringa oleifera L.) leaves have become one of the most sought-after raw materials due to their high content of flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, vitamins, and minerals, yet these benefits can only be preserved when the processing into simplicia follows Good Manufacturing Practice for Traditional Medicine (CPOTB). This study aims to analyze the implementation of CPOTB in the production of Moringa leaf simplicia at PT Nodeem Naturindo Lestari Mataram and to identify the extent to which the production process complies with applicable CPOTB guidelines. The study employed a descriptive design with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through direct observation of the production process, interviews with production personnel, and document review using a checklist instrument developed based on BPOM Regulation Number 31 of 2022 concerning CPOTB, covering aspects of quality management, personnel, buildings and facilities, equipment, sanitation and hygiene, production, quality control, documentation, and storage and distribution. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with credibility strengthened through source and method triangulation. The results show that PT Nodeem Naturindo Lestari Mataram has implemented the stages of Moringa leaf simplicia production systematically, comprising wet sorting, washing with running water, slicing, drying using temperature-controlled dryers, dry sorting, and packaging and storage in sealed containers. Overall, the process demonstrates good conformity with CPOTB guidelines in terms of personnel and hygiene, buildings and facilities, production equipment, and the production process itself, although certain aspects still require strengthening, particularly the completeness and consistency of production-process documentation and the monitoring of storage-room environmental conditions. This study recommends strengthening the written documentation system and conducting regular monitoring of the storage room to maintain the quality of Moringa leaf simplicia and support the company's product competitiveness.

Abstract

Student heterogeneity in madrasahs demands instruction responsive to individual differences. The Merdeka Curriculum requires diagnostic assessment as a foundation for differentiated instruction, yet its implementation in madrasahs remains limited. This study aims to explore diagnostic assessment and differentiated instruction practices by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers, and to measure students' intrinsic motivation, perceptions of differentiation, and teacher self-efficacy. Using a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design, data were collected through questionnaires from 34 PAI teachers and 148 students in madrasahs in Purwakarta Regency. Instruments included Likert scales (teacher efficacy 1–6, student motivation and perceptions 1–5) and open-ended questions. Descriptive analysis showed high student motivation (M=4.46), highly positive perceptions of differentiation (M>4.30), and high teacher efficacy (M=5.09). Thematic analysis identified three main themes: formal diagnostic assessment, differentiation in Qur'an memorization, and constraints of time and classroom management. The study concludes that teachers possess strong psychological capital but require systemic support to overcome structural barriers. This research contributes to strengthening the integrated diagnostic assessment–differentiation model in the context of Islamic Religious Education in madrasahs.
