Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is crucial for optimal growth and development of infants, as it provides essential nutrition and immunity. However, in Padang City, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding varies significantly. Data from 2021 shows that the highest coverage is at Bungus Health Center, with 86.9%, while the lowest is at Dadok Tunggul Hitam Health Center, at only 25.67%. This discrepancy raises concerns about the nutritional status of infants who do not receive exclusive breastfeeding, as nutritional status is a key indicator of overall health and development. This study investigates the differences in nutritional status between infants who receive exclusive breastfeeding and those given formula milk at Dadok Tunggul Hitam Health Center. This descriptive-analytic research employs a cross-sectional approach with 96 infants over 6 months old. Data was collected through interviews using questionnaires and analyzed with T-test. The results show that the average nutritional status of infants receiving exclusive breastfeeding is -2.23, while for those receiving formula milk, it is -2.04. This significant difference indicates that infants who receive exclusive breastfeeding have better nutritional status. The study recommends that healthcare workers, especially midwives at the health centre, be more proactive in providing information about the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding to improve infant nutritional status, particularly in areas with low coverage.

Abstract

Child marriage is a phenomenon that affects the quality of household life, especially among young people who are still studying. Psychological immaturity is often the leading cause of conflict and disharmony in the household. This study aims to identify household harmony in child marriage in Dander District, Bojonegoro Regency. This study uses a descriptive design with a survey approach. The population consists of 27 families who had child marriages in 2022, with a sampling technique using saturated sampling. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed through editing, coding, scoring, and tabulation processes to determine the percentage. The results showed that more than half of the respondents (51.9%) had a level of household harmony classified as disharmonious. The main factors contributing to this disharmony are a lack of communication, unmanaged conflicts, and a lack of joint planning between couples. The conclusion of this study is that child marriage tends to result in household disharmony. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve communication between couples, healthy conflict management, and discussions to plan common goals both in the short and long term. These results are expected to be evaluation materials for the government and society to prevent child marriage through more effective education and regulation.

Abstract

Physical activity is an activity that we often do, especially walking, so far we have considered walking to be tiring, but it has great benefits for our body physiology both mentally, cognitively and physically, managing emotional functions related to cognitive function. Cognitive is an important part of humans in thinking and reasoning. Especially with the many activities of the younger generation today but who are less sensitive to their health, so that they are at risk of cognitive disorders. One can be done by walking. The purpose of the study was to determine the Effectiveness of Physical Activity: Walking on Cognitive Disorders in young adults. The research method used a pre-experimental pretest and posttest design with control, with a total of 44 samples, consisting of 22 interventions and 22 controls, walking activities were carried out for three consecutive days, with a duration of 60 minutes, at 16.00-17.00 WIB, on December 16-18, 2024. The sample criteria were first-year nursing students who carried out walking activities continuously for three days. The results of the study showed that the significance value of cognitive impairment obtained was (Z = -2.646, p = 0.008). This means that there is a significant difference in the level of cognitive impairment between before and after the intervention of physical activity. The significance value of cognitive impairment obtained was (Z = 0.000, p = 1.000). This means that there is no difference in the level of cognitive impairment in the control group. The significance value of cognitive impairment obtained was (Z = -,935, p = 0.350). This means that there is no significant difference in the level of cognitive impairment between the intervention group and the control group after the intervention of physical activity. These results explain that there is no significant difference between intervention and control. Suggestions are that there needs to be continuous and periodic activities so that the results can be maximized, because cognitive cannot change simultaneously, so it must be accompanied by routine activities, not just incidental activities, to get good results.

Abstract

Propionibacterium acnes bacteria cause acne by producing lipase enzymes that break down free fatty acids in skin lipids. This study aimed to determine whether or not there is antibacterial activity from the extract of the Chinese betel leaf plant (Peperomia pellucida L) against Propionibacterium acnes and to determine the concentration of the inhibition zone. The study was experimental with 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% extract concentrations. The method used to test antibacterial activity in this study was the disc diffusion method, namely using discs planted on Nutrient Agar (NA) media. The maceration of Chinese betel leaves (Peperomia pellucida L) is the Chinese betel leaf extraction method. The results showed that at a concentration of 25% Chinese betel leaf extract, the results were 22.5 mm; at a concentration of 50% extract, the inhibition zone was 24 mm; at a concentration of 75% Chinese betel leaf extract, the inhibition zone was 30 mm, at a concentration of 100% Chinese betel leaf extract, the inhibition zone was 20 mm. The inhibition zone of the positive control using the antibiotic chloramphenicol was obtained at 10 mm; in the negative control using sterile distilled water, there was no inhibition zone. The results of the significance test of the Chinese betel leaf extract (Peperomia pellucida) from the Greenwood classification results in the Post hoc test show that the difference between concentrations can be stated as significant at each concentration.
