Abstract

The development of technology and social media has influenced the way teenagers, especially university students, communicate through the use of slang. This study aims to analyze the use of slang and its impact on Indonesian language proficiency among students of the Entrepreneurship Study Program at Universitas Negeri Medan. This research employs a descriptive approach with a qualitative method. Data were collected through questionnaire distributed to 60 active social media users and supplemented with brief interviews. Data analysis was conducted descriptively using the Miles & Huberman model. The results indicate that slang has become an important part of students’ daily interactions, particularly on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, and functions as a social identity that enhances closeness among peers. However, excessive use of slang may negatively affect formal Indonesian language skills, such as difficulties in maintaining consistency in using standard language and recognizing formal vocabulary. This study shows that students need to balance the use of slang and formal language to maintain their Indonesian language proficiency, particularly in academic and professional contexts.

Abstract

The principle of accounting conservatism emphasizes two main points, namely recognizing losses that are likely to occur but do not apply if profits are present and the second point, from all accounting recognition methods, accountants are expected to choose the method with the smallest profit. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the Effect of Company Size, Financial Leverage, and Ownership Structure on Profit Conservatism in Non-Financial Companies in the Raw Materials Sector in 2020-2024. The type of data used in this study is quantitative data with secondary data sources, namely from company financial reports. The collected data were tested using SPSS software consisting of descriptive statistical tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regressions, and simultaneous and partial hypothesis tests and coefficients of determination. Company Size partially has a negative and insignificant effect on Profit Conservatism. Financial Leverage partially has a positive and significant effect on Profit Conservatism. Ownership Structure partially has a positive and significant effect on Profit Conservatism. Leverage and Ownership Structure simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on Profit Conservatism in the Non-Financial Raw Materials Sector in 2020-2024. In the determination coefficient, the Adjusted R2 value obtained is 18.4%, meaning that variations in the variables of Company Size, Financial Leverage, and Ownership Structure can explain their effect on Profit Conservatism by 18.4%, while the remaining 81.6% is a variation of other variables not explained in this study, such as cash flow, etc.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Net Enrollment Rate (NER) and the Expected Years of Schooling (AHLS) on the number of publications as a form of Indonesian language literacy. The research method uses a quantitative approach with multiple regression analysis based on annual secondary data for the 2010–2023 period obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Classical assumption tests were conducted to ensure that the regression model meets the BLUE criteria. The results show that the NER has a positive and significant effect on the number of publications, while the AHLS does not have a significant partial effect. However, simultaneously, the NER and AHLS have a significant effect on the number of publications, with an R-Square value of 64.57%. This indicates that educational participation not only influences the level of community involvement in the formal education system but also determines the extent to which the younger generation is able to produce high-quality academic work. In other words, equitable and sustainable education plays a crucial role in creating a productive literacy ecosystem, particularly in the realm of Indonesian as the national language and language of science. These findings confirm that educational participation has a crucial role in improving academic literacy and productivity in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors causing difficulties and the views of Papuan students regarding the use of standard Indonesian in an academic environment, as well as to design effective learning strategies to improve their abilities. Standard language is a variation of language used in formal contexts as a standard of communication, which not only functions as a tool for conveying ideas, but also serves as the main foundation for students' academic success. This study adopts a library research approach through the collection and analysis of data from books, journals, notes, and relevant reports, combined with quantitative methods using test instruments (quizzes through the Quizizz application) and questionnaires to measure respondents' understanding and views. The research population consisted of Papuan students enrolled in the 2024 academic year at Medan State University, with a sample of 27 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results showed that these students experienced various difficulties in applying standard Indonesian, including oral communication, writing scientific reports, and formal interactions with lecturers and peers. The main inhibiting factors included the habit of using regional languages or Papuan dialects, low self-confidence, and minimal encouragement from the campus environment. However, the majority of respondents showed a positive attitude in the form of pride in using standard language, which could be used as capital for developing language skills. Therefore, systematic coaching strategies are needed from the campus, such as academic writing training, standard language discussion forums, lecturer assistance, and student organization support, in order to accelerate academic-social adaptation and strengthen the role of Indonesian as a unifying language in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership of the principal of SMKS Rokita Sari 2 Bangun Purba in improving teacher performance. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through semi-structured interviews with the school principal. The interview questions focused on leadership vision, coaching strategies, academic supervision, motivation, and facilitation of teacher competence development. The results of the study show that the principal has a clear vision in directing teachers not only to implement the curriculum but also to prepare students for the world of work. The principal conducts regular supervision, provides simple appreciation for outstanding teachers, and supports teacher participation in training and workshops. These strategies have led to improved discipline, creativity, and professionalism among teachers. Thus, the leadership of the principal at SMKS Rokita Sari 2 Bangun Purba plays an important role in creating a conducive work environment to enhance the quality of education.

Abstract

Proses penuaan adalah suatu hal alami yang tidak dapat dihindari dan merupakan bagian dari kehidupan. Seiring bertambahnya usia, lansia dapat menghadapi berbagai masalah, baik dari segi fisik, biologis, mental, maupun sosial. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesehatan lansia di Panti Bina Lanjut Usia, meningkatkan pengetahuan kesehatan lansia, meningkatkan kesejahteraan emosional lansia, dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup melalui aktivitas fisik dan spritual. Dengan pendekatan yang komprehensif terhadap kesehatan fisik dan mental, diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan kesadaran, pengetahuan, dan kesejahteraan umum bagi lansia, sehingga mereka dapat menikmati kehidupan sehari-hari dengan lebih bahagia dan bermakna. Hasil dari pemeriksaan kesehatan lansia terdeteksi mempunyai masalaha kesehatan yaitu obesitas, kurang gizi, hipertensi, hiperglikemi, hiperurisemia, dan kolesterol. Setelah diberikan edukasi kesehatan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan lansia terkait masalah-masalah kesehatan yang sedang dialami sebanyak 69%.

Abstract

Dakwah kepada komunitas muallaf memerlukan pendekatan yang strategis, komunikatif, dan penuh empati. Muallaf sebagai individu yang baru memeluk Islam berada dalam fase transisi spiritual dan sosial yang kompleks. Artikel ini mengkaji strategi dakwah yang efektif berdasarkan pendekatan retoris dan teori komunikasi interpersonal. Dengan merujuk pada tiga strategi dakwah menurut Al-Bayanuni—sentimentil, rasional, dan indriawi—serta teori penetrasi sosial dan model AIDDA, tulisan ini menawarkan kerangka dakwah yang humanis dan berorientasi pada pembinaan hati, akal, dan perilaku. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa dakwah yang menyentuh aspek emosional, intelektual, dan pengalaman langsung lebih efektif dalam membimbing muallaf menuju pemahaman dan pengamalan Islam yang utuh.

Abstract

This article examines the theological significance of the designations “Son of God” and “God the Son” in the biblical perspective of Mark 1:1. The study argues that while “Son of God” emphasizes the relational and functional aspects of Christ’s identity within the Trinity, “God the Son” highlights His eternal divine nature as affirmed in the Nicene Creed. Employing exegetical, hermeneutical, and theological approaches through qualitative library research, this study seeks to clarify the Christological implications of both terms. The findings indicate that these designations are not contradictory but complementary, shaping a deeper understanding of Christ’s divinity and humanity for both the early church and contemporary Christian theology.

Abstract

High school students in their developmental stage are classified as adolescents. Today's adolescents face a lot of pressure, starting from environmental and socio-cultural conditions as well as their own personal development. This study aims to determine the effect of learning motivation and social support on Self-Regulated Learning at SMK Rosma Karawang. The data method in this study uses a quantitative method. The number of samples used was 182 students at SMK Rosma Karawang using a simple random sampling method. The scales used in this study were the self-regulated learning scale, the learning motivation scale, and the social support scale. The results of this study indicate that a significance value of 0.000, which means that learning motivation and social support have a positive influence on self-regulated learning in SMK Rosma Karawang students. Social support and learning motivation each have an influence of 2.4% and 2.91% on self-regulated learning, respectively. This study shows that the higher the learning motivation and social support a student has, the higher the level of self-regulated learning of the student.

Abstract

This research is quantitative with an explanatory approach, an approach that relies on hypothetical expectations based on previous research. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained by the researcher from manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2019-2024. The data obtained by the researcher was analyzed using the smart PLS 4.0 analysis tool. The result in this article show that the hypotheses used in this article can be accepted and proven. The first row of the third table above shows that the P-values ​​are positive and below the 0.05 significance level, namely 0.015. These results align with the research of Ajeng Syuhada Alawiyah (2022); (Khoirul Adzman 2021); (Amanda 2024) & (Sania 2022). The row below also shows a similar color, namely that the Return on Equity variable can moderate the effect of the Return on Assets variable on the stock price variable due to the same reason, namely the P-values ​​are positive and below the 0.05 significance level, namely 0.000. Thus, it can be concluded that the first and second hypotheses in this article can be accepted and proven.
