Abstract

This study aims to improve students' social relationships through classical guidance services using a Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach. The subjects were 29 students from class XI F3 at SMA Negeri 10 Medan, with 22 students identified as having difficulties in social interaction, such as low empathy, interpersonal conflict, and poor communication. This research employed the Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) model, implemented in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The findings indicated that the PBL-based classical guidance service was effective in enhancing students' social relationships. This was evidenced by the increase in average questionnaire scores from 62.06% (moderate category) in the pre-cycle, to 77.93% (high category) in the first cycle, and reaching 87.93% (very high category) in the second cycle. The PBL approach encouraged students to analyze real social problems, reflect empathetically, and develop collaborative problem-solving skills. Therefore, classical guidance with a PBL approach can be recommended as an effective strategy for improving social skills in high school students.

Abstract

In education there are problems that create several obstacles in the educational process. Problems can occur for several reasons, one of which is not understanding the role of the teacher himself. This can be a barrier for the counseling teacher in carrying out guidance and counselling at school. therefore, the counseling teacher must be able to apply the problems of the counseling teacher at school in order to develop his potential in supporting counseling services at school so that the counseling teacher can provide positive affectivity in creating a conducive learning atmosphere and be able to contribute to the development of the potential and character building of students. This research uses qualitative methods with document analysis and field observation. The results of this study found several obstacles in the implementation of counselling guidance in schools, these obstacles can hinder the achievement of the objectives of counselling guidance. Counselling teachers themselves must have several competencies to alleviate these obstacles, namely Pedagogy, Personality, Social, and Professional competencies.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the tendency of self-harm among students from single-parent families. This is evidenced by the increasing divorce rate each year, which is accompanied by a rise in risky behaviors such as self-harm. One of the contributing factors to self-harm among students from single-parent families is a low level of religiosity. Therefore, this study aims to describe the level of religiosity and the tendency of self-harm among these students, as well as to examine and analyze the relationship between religiosity and the tendency of self-harm in students from single-parent families. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational research design. The population consists of 50 students from single-parent families enrolled in grades X and XI at SMKN X Padang during the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample includes 23 grade X students from single-parent families, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a religiosity questionnaire and a self-harm tendency questionnaire for students from single-parent families. The data were analyzed using percentage analysis, and the Pearson product-moment formula was used to test and analyze the relationship between religiosity and the tendency of self- harm. The results showed that students from single-parent families had a moderate level of self-harm tendency, while their level of religiosity was categorized as high. The correlation analysis indicated a negative relationship between religiosity and the tendency of self-harm among students from single- parent families.

Abstract

This research is motivated by seeing how important the implementation of business management is applied in the world of education. One of them is by implementing entrepreneurs . Regulation of the Minister of National Education Number 13 of 2007 concerning Principal Standards, one of which is entrepreneurial competency. This competency is the latest competency that must be possessed by the principal, in order to realize the independence of educational institutions. To be able to apply this competency is not easy. SMP Swasta Pahlawan Nasional is an independent institution because it has implemented business units. For this reason, the author conducted this research, namely to find out and answer "How is the implementation of educational business management at SMP Swasta Pahlawan Nasional". Type of research Which writer use is qualitative. In collecting data, the author uses the observation method as the main method, then supported by the interview method and documentation as supporting methods and strengthening the research results. Testing the validity of the author's data using the technique data triangulation. The conclusion of this study is that after being analyzed using theories related to the application of educational business, SMP Pahlawan Nasional is an educational institution that is able to become an independent institution. This can be proven by the application of businesses such as canteens, AK Water, tutoring, outbound, and Umrah. The income from these business units is used to repair, add, and maintain facilities and infrastructure, and the internal parties of the educational institution have been satisfied with the implementation of the business.

Data analysis techniques used in study This is analysis regression simple processed​ using SPSS version 25. Population in study This is convict narcotics totaling 855 people and a sample of 58 people. The results of the study This that is based on the t-test obtained mark t count 8.252 > t table 2.003 and the value significance 0.000 < 0.05 and so can concluded that there is influence significant positive​ between Islamic religious guidance in increase control self inhabitant foster narcotics. Based on coefficient test results determination shows an R square of of 0.482 or 48.2%. This proves that the influence of Islamic religious guidance on self-control with a coefficient interval of 0.40-0.599 is included in the moderate category. While the remaining 51.8% is explained by other factors or variables that are not included in this research model.

Abstract

This paper explores the integral relationship between culture and language use in the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction, focusing on the Indonesian educational setting. It examines how cultural integration is essential for effective EFL teaching, arguing that language and culture are inseparable and that meaningful language acquisition requires understanding the cultural contexts in which a language operates. The study highlights the risks of linguistic and cultural erosion due to the dominance of English, emphasizing the need to preserve local identity and traditions alongside global communication skills. Key principles for integrating culture into EFL include using authentic materials, encouraging cross-cultural discussions, and balancing exposure to both local and foreign cultures. The paper also addresses challenges such as limited teacher training and the potential for cultural displacement. By embedding local cultural content in EFL instruction, educators can enhance students’ intercultural communicative competence and motivation, fostering a deeper appreciation for both their own heritage and the target language. The findings underscore the importance of thoughtful cultural integration to prepare students for effective and respectful participation in a globalized world.

Abstract

Culture is a complete, integrated and comprehensive unity in a community group, which allows the formation of mathematical ideas that grow in cultural practices. Likewise, in the process of learning mathematics, it is often presented in a certain context or connecting mathematics with everyday life, one of which is by linking it to local wisdom or culture known as ethnomathematics. This study is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to identify and describe mathematical concepts in the Kandingang dance. This research was conducted in Kalumbang, Wangga Village, Kambera District, East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The subjects of this study were traditional figures who understood the origins of the Kandingang Dance. Kandingan dance is one of the traditional dances originating from East Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Generally, this dance is performed by female dancers who wear accessories in the form of tassels made from horsetails while dancing. Research shows that every movement in the Kandingang dance in East Sumba contains various ethnomathematic concepts. In the context of Kandingang dance movements, ethnomathematics consists of several geometric concepts that are visible in every dance movement such as: vertical lines, horizontal lines, arbitrary triangles, equilateral triangles, acute angles and right angles.

Abstract

Digital technology integration is applied by universities as a process of utilising technology which is a challenge for educational institutions in the industrial revolution 4.0 towards 5.0 and also a challenge for graduates to improve their individual abilities. Student learning motivation in the use of technology integration is an important reference that needs to be considered. The analysis method used in determining what affects student learning motivation is PLS-SEM. Sampling in this study through the Random Sampling method. This study aims to see the effect of digital technology integration on learning motivation. The subjects in the study were 142 students of STIKes Indah Medan. The results show that digital technology integration has a significant effect on learning motivation (30.9%), digital literacy has a significant effect on learning motivation (63.8%). With these findings, student learning motivation can be increased by increasing digital literacy in gathering information.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has fundamentally reshaped the landscape of political communication, creating new spaces for interaction between political actors and the public through social media. This study aims to analyse the dynamics of political communication in the digital age by highlighting how media and algorithmic logic frame the construction of political discourse and public participation. Using a qualitative approach based on literature review, this study examines literature from accredited scientific journals discussing topics such as digital political communication, mediatisation, social media algorithms, and political literacy. The results of the study indicate that political communication in the digital space tends to be dominated by visual aesthetics and performance rather than political substance. Digital platforms, through non-neutral algorithms, reinforce opinion polarisation and create echo chambers that limit dialogue between groups. Meanwhile, public political participation has expanded in meaning but often gets stuck in shallow and reactive symbolic expressions. The discussion in this study emphasises that digital political communication is ambivalent: it opens up opportunities for the democratisation of information, but simultaneously increases the potential for manipulation and domination of discourse by certain powers. The conclusion of this study is that political communication in the digital age requires an increase in critical literacy so that the public can navigate the complexity of information and avoid the trap of symbolic proximity illusions and structured disinformation.

Abstract

The media plays a central role in shaping public perceptions of contemporary political issues. Through the process of framing, the media not only conveys facts, but also determines which aspects are emphasized, obscured, or omitted. This study aims to analyze how the mass media frames current political issues and to reveal the implications of such discourse construction on public perceptions. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, this study examines academic literature on framing theory, media politics, and the dynamics of political reporting in Indonesia. The analysis reveals that media framing is significantly influenced by political interests, editorial ideology, and market pressures. Issues such as corruption, elite conflicts, or elections are often reported with biased, simplistic, and sometimes fragmented narratives. The discussion emphasizes that framing is not merely a technical editorial choice but an ideological practice that significantly shapes the socio-political reality of society. The conclusion of this study is that framing analysis needs to be developed critically as a tool to uncover biases in political news representation and as a foundation for enhancing media literacy among the public in the age of information overload.
