Abstract

Literacy and numeracy are fundamental skills that are crucial for elementary school students in addressing the challenges of the digital era. However, current teaching practices tend to be less effective in fostering deep comprehension. Therefore, the deep learning approach emerges as an alternative that can enhance conceptual understanding in a more profound and sustainable manner. This article aims to examine the implementation of the deep learning approach in literacy and numeracy education at the elementary level through a literature review method. The literature review is conducted by searching, selecting, and critically analyzing academic journals, books, and relevant research reports. The selection criteria for sources include the credibility of the authors, relevance to the topic, and publication within the last ten years. The data analysis technique employed is thematic analysis to identify patterns and conceptual relationships between deep learning and literacy as well as numeracy education at the elementary level. The findings indicate that deep learning can improve students' critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and conceptual understanding. The implications of this study are expected to provide valuable insights for educators in designing more effective teaching strategies.

Abstract

Gastronomy is a form of communication to convey the culture, history and identity of a society through food/culinary. In Elementary school, learning about gastronomy can be done through recognizing traditional foods, so that students can understand the diversity of Indonesia Culture. This research aims to find out about cork pucung culinary as a means of learning gastronomy and Betawi cultural identity. The method used is Literature Review. The results of this study show that gastronomy is not only related to culinary as the main aspect, but also reflects the history, culture, geographical landscape, and cooking methods that form the identity of a society. Gabus pucung, as one of the Betawi culinary heritages, has strong historical and cultural values, but is experiencing challenges in terms of its preservation due to changes in the consumption patterns of modern society. Gabus pucung, as a typical Betawi dish, reflects local wisdom in food utilisation and has a deep historical value. Preservation efforts through education, promotion, and innovation in presentation and marketing can be an effective strategy in maintaining the existence of this culinary in the midst of changes in people's consumption patterns.

Abstract

Research shows that primary school children need learning that encourages students to be more creative in exploring and discovering scientific concepts and principles deeply and authentically, both individually and in groups. In addition, learning that emphasizes direct student involvement in the learning process to ensure that students gain a more meaningful learning experience. Webbed type integrated learning model is one of the examples. Literature review was used as the method. The research stages began with article collection, reduction, performance, discussion, and conclusion. The research data sources are national journal articles in the last 4 years (2019-2023). Based on the results of the study, it shows that in applying the webbed type learning model in the classroom, it needs to be designed in advance in order to get good results, the steps are: (1) Theme Development, (2) Sub-Theme Development, (3) Learning Activity Development, (4) Use, (5) Media Monitoring and Reflection, (6) Teamwork Development, and (7) Evaluation

Abstract

ABSTRAK Perkembangan teknologi digital terhadap globalisasi dapat berdampak baik. Simulasi PhET bersifat animasi dan interaktif juga menyenangkan seperti permainan yang memungkinkan siswa untuk bereksplorasi sambil belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan media digital untuk menentukan faktor-faktor yang menghambat hasil belajar siswa serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh media PhET pada hasil belajar peserta didik dalam bentuk pecahan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif, sedangkan model yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model eksperimen. Penelitian ini dilakukan di 3 sekolah dasar. Hasil penelitian di 3 sekolah yaitu pertama di SD Negeri Planjan 02 hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai Z hitung sebesar -3,078 dan nilai Asym.Sig sebesar 0,002 < 0,05 serta uji N Gain Score sebesar 0,506 atau 51% maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media PhET dapat meningkatkan. Kedua di SD Negeri Planjan 01 menunjukkan nilai -t hitung < -t tabel atau t hitung > t tabel (-7,024 < -2,078 atau 7,024 > 2,078) serta uji N Gain Score sebesar 0,538 atau 54% maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media PhET dapat meningkatkan. Ketiga, SD Negeri Gombolharjo 01 menunjukkan nilai -t hitung < -t tabel atau t hitung > t tabel (-8,967< -2,063 atau 8,967 > 2,063) dan uji N Gain Score sebesar 0,547 atau 54%, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa media PhET dapat meningkatkan pemahaman materi pecahan setara dengan peningkatan rata-rata siswa yang sedang. Abstract

This research is classroom action research, which consists of several aspects of treatment and the main observation, namely improving students' reading ability with picture storybook media. The research was carried out at SDN Cigoong 3 Serang City which was registered in the 2022/2023 school year. This study uses the research design of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart, which consists of two cycles. Where each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of pre-cycle observations showed that the average level of individual absorption was only 64.97. In the 1st cycle action, the average completeness of individual absorption capacity was obtained of 70.88. In cycle 2, there was an increase with an average individual absorption completeness of 78.3. Thus, it can be concluded that learning using picture storybook media can improve the reading ability of students in grade 1 of SDN Cigoong 3 Serang City.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of developing student creativity through robotics extracurriculars. This research was carried out at one of the schools in Cilegon Regency/City, namely at SD YPWKS II. YPWKS II Elementary School. This research uses a qualitative approach and the method used is the descriptive method. [A1] The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. By triangulating the sources of school principals, extracurricular teachers and students. The results of this research indicate that the purpose of robotics extracurricular activities is to provide facilities for interests and talents that suit students' needs and provide opportunities for students to hone their skills in the field of robotics. In the application of robotics extracurricular activities, it is usually carried out starting from opening activities, core activities and closing activities. In accordance with the data obtained by researchers, student creativity after the implementation of robotic extracurricular activities at YPWKS II Elementary School, it can be concluded that there are several students who have fulfilled several aspects of creativity.[A2]  namely the fluency aspect where students can produce ideas, flexibility students can think from different points of view and find solutions, originality students can produce unique ideas, and elaboration students can develop and expand existing ideas.

Abstract

The results of the observation showed that the low learning outcomes of students were related to the lack of interactive learning process and low learning motivation. Teachers play an important role in improving collaborative learning, so it is necessary to choose teaching strategies and techniques that are in accordance with the characteristics of students. One approach used is the resonance method, which aims to improve the learning outcomes of grade III students of Sidanegara 09 Cilacap Elementary School on the material of changes in the shape of objects. This observation was carried out through Classroom Action Research (CAR) for two cycles, with 35 students as subjects. Each cycle includes the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The pre-cycle results showed that only 12 students (34.28%) had completed learning. After the action in cycle I, the number of students who completed increased to 26 students (74.28%), and in cycle II to 32 students (91.42%). Only 3 students had not achieved completion. There was an increase of 17.14% between cycles I and II. These results prove that the success indicator has been achieved. Thus, this method has proven effective in improving student learning outcomes on changes in the material of the shape of objects in the surrounding environment.

Abstract

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in learning is an important need in the digital era to improve the quality of education. However, at the elementary school level, the application of ICT still faces challenges such as limited infrastructure and teacher competence. This study aims to describe the use of ICT-based learning media in grade V of SD Negeri Taman Baru 1 Cilegon. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation of grade V teachers. Data analysis was carried out descriptively to understand the extent to which ICT is utilized in the learning process. The results of the study indicate that the use of ICT-based learning media in SD Negeri Taman Baru 1 Cilegon has been quite optimal. Teachers use devices such as LCD projectors and the internet to deliver materials, which makes learning more interesting and increases student motivation. Students show high enthusiasm, are active in discussions, and are able to learn independently.

Abstract

Elementary education is a crucial initial stage in shaping students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities. However, in the learning process, not all students are able to follow the material optimally. Many elementary school students experience learning difficulties, such as difficulty understanding the material, low learning motivation, and unsatisfactory learning outcomes. These difficulties, if not identified and addressed early on, can have an impact on students' academic, social, and emotional development. This study aims to analyze the diagnosis of students' learning difficulties at SDN 11 Pandeglang based on five indicators, namely the ability to receive material, interest in learning, perseverance in learning, feelings while participating in learning, and learning outcomes. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques through questionnaires and observations. The subjects of the study were students of SDN 11 Pandeglang. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques in the form of average scores and categorization. The results showed that most indicators of learning difficulties were in the moderate category, namely the ability to receive material (1.6), interest in learning (2.0), perseverance (2.25), and learning outcomes (2.12). Meanwhile, feelings during learning received the lowest score (1.3) and were included in the low category, indicating significant emotional barriers. This finding reinforces the importance of the role of teachers in recognizing and addressing students' learning difficulties comprehensively in order to create an effective, inclusive learning process that supports optimal student development.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an Android-based learning media application for basic table tennis techniques, called TPW. The method used is research and development with the ADDIE model. The research subjects were Year 5 pupils at SD Negeri Ciceri, Serang City. Data analysis techniques included a quantitative approach through learning achievement tests and a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The effectiveness test results showed an improvement in learning outcomes when using the TPW application, with N-gain indices of 0.486 and 0.374 (medium category), which were higher than those achieved with conventional textbooks, which only reached 0.263 and 0.07. Pupils’ mastery learning using the TPW application reached 60%, compared with only 40% when using textbooks. These findings indicate that the TPW application is more effective in enhancing understanding and mastery of basic table tennis techniques. The application can serve as an alternative, interactive, and innovative learning medium in Physical Education (PE) at primary schools, particularly in supporting the development of pupils’ motor skills.
