Al-Qalam: Jurnal Kajian Islam dan Pendidikan merupakan jurnal peer-reviewed open-access yang didirikan untuk menyebarluaskan pengetahuan mutakhir di bidang kajian islam dan pendidikan islam. Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of implementing the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach in increasing the learning motivation of grade 4 students of SDN 42/IV Jambi City in Indonesian language learning. Using classroom action research (PTK), data was collected through direct observation of students' learning activities over three cycles, as well as a learning motivation questionnaire completed by 28 students. Results showed that at the beginning of the study, only 21.4% of students had high learning motivation, 35.7% with moderate motivation, and 42.9% with low motivation. Through the application of CRT, students' participation and engagement in learning increased significantly. In the last cycle, the average score of students' learning motivation increased from 58 to 76, reflecting an overall increase in students' learning motivation. These results indicate that the CRT approach is effective in stimulating students' learning motivation. The findings emphasize the importance of paying attention to students' cultural context in designing effective and relevant learning strategies, as well as the need to strengthen teachers' capacity in implementing CRT in the classroom. By utilizing students' cultural backgrounds, teachers can create an inclusive and motivating learning environment.

Abstract

This article discusses the history of modern Islam in Egypt as well as reformers in the field of education. This research uses library research with a qualitative approach. Egypt only became an Islamic city when Umar became caliph. Over time, Egypt experienced development in the modern era, marked by the emergence of reforming figures. Renewal in Islam is a necessity in life to overcome the life problems that society needs at that time. This reform was carried out by reforming figures who proved that Islam can answer society's problems in all times and Islamic teachings can make a positive contribution to every era's development. Educational reform was pioneered by figures with their own ideas about education, including: Muhammad Ali Pasha, Al-Tahtawi, Muhammad Abduh, Rasyid Ridha, Jamaluddin Al-Afgany, Ali Mubarak, Thaha Husain, and so on.

Abstract

The spirituality of Muslims is decreasing due to ignorance regarding the meaning of religion. This decline in the spirituality of Muslims can be marked by the large number of Muslims who are not totally religious, such as many Muslims who still abandon their obligatory worship, then do not follow Islamic law correctly, so a way is needed to can increase the spirituality of Muslims. Kalam science, as an important branch of Islamic theology, has a significant role in enhancing the spirituality of Muslims. This study aims to examine how the main concepts in kalam science, such as tawhid (the oneness of Allah), the attributes of Allah, and understanding qada and qadar, can strengthen faith and spiritual awareness. Through literature analysis and philosophical approaches, it was found that kalam science not only functions as a means to defend beliefs from various intellectual challenges and skepticism, but also as a tool to deepen individuals' understanding of their relationship with God. The results of the research show that mastering the science of kalam can help Muslims develop inner calm, firmness of faith, and deeper spiritual appreciation, which ultimately contributes to the formation of a more devout and pious person.

Abstract

This research aims to review the literature regarding the implementation and impact of nested integrated education on student learning outcomes. The research method used is a literature review by analyzing various trusted sources such as scientific newspapers, novels and seminar proceedings. Information is analyzed qualitatively by identifying, summarizing, and interpreting data from various sources. The research results show that nested integrated education has proven to be efficient in improving student learning outcomes in various research fields and learning levels. This educational model helps students master concepts in more depth, improve critical thinking skills, and increase learning motivation. In conclusion, nested integrated education is a promising educational model for improving the quality of learning. Implementation of this model needs to be supported by adequate teacher training and the development of quality teaching materials.

Abstract

This research discusses the importance of integrating Islamic education in classroom management to shape student character and improve academic achievement. Although there are barriers such as a lack of teacher training and government support, recommended solutions include providing comprehensive training, integrating Islamic education with other sciences, emphasizing individual differences, providing specific instructional instructions, applying the lesson study approach and encouraging the integration of Islamic values in all aspects of education. The research method used was a literature study and qualitative data analysis to identify challenges and solutions in the integration of Islamic education in classroom management. The results show that the integration of Islamic education in classroom management is seen to improve student character, academic achievement and the overall learning experience. By focusing on holistic student character building, values such as sincerity, simplicity, independence, tolerance and care for the environment can be instilled. The role of teachers in instilling character values in students through their example and guidance is crucial. Evaluating students' characters and overcoming obstacles in the integration of Islamic education is also an important part of achieving the broader goals of education, particularly in shaping a young generation that has strong characters and good morals.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in the cognitive domain of students through the scaffolding method in PAI learning in Class XI OTP 4 at SMKN 1 Sinjai. This study used the type of PTK research, the subjects in this study were 25 students in class XI OTP 4 and the researcher as the executor of the applied method and the teacher as the observer. The type of action applied is that there are two cycles, where each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Used were observation, tests, and documentation. Analysis technique is using validity test, reliability test, descriptive statistical observation, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that in the first cycle of action, the average score of students was 0.4304 in the low category. While in the action cycle 2 obtained as much as 0.7443 with the high category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the scaffolding method can improve the cognitive domain of students in PAI learning in Class XI OTP at SMKN 1 Sinjai.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the Koranic solution in realizing family resilience through character education. This type of research uses a literature review with a narrative review design, namely looking for articles related to the koran's solution to realizing family resilience through character education that has been published. Existing journals and references obtained the results that Qur’an-based character education means instilling the values contained in the Qur’an as a guide. As the Prophet made the Qur'an as his character according to the meaning of the Qur'an surah Al Qalam verse 4. The character education in question can be used as a solution in building family resilience, where disputes and arguments that occur continuously in the family environment become the main factor in divorce cases can be minimized with Qur'anic values such as mutual respect, mutual respect, mutual love, mutual help and mutual attention to each family member.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of the procedures for performing prayers through the application of the demonstration method in class BP 1 at RQS Qudwatun Hasanah. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) using a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques include observation, tests, and documentation. The study was conducted in one cycle consisting of four stages: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the study showed a significant improvement in students' understanding after the implementation of the demonstration method. Students' understanding scores in the pre-cycle were 55.34%, categorized as poor, which increased to 88.86% in cycle I, categorized as very good. The N-gain calculation reached 0.75, indicating a high improvement level. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the demonstration method is effective in improving students' understanding of the procedures for performing prayers in the Islamic Education subject at RQS Qudwatun Hasanah.

Abstract

This study examines the historical roots of amulet usage and its role in the socio-cultural, religious, and spiritual traditions of human civilizations. Utilizing a qualitative research method with a historical approach, data were collected through literature analysis from various sources, including scholarly articles, books, and online documents. The findings indicate that amulets have been an integral part of people's beliefs and identities since early civilizations, serving as tools for protection and supernatural power. In various religions such as Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity, amulets are often incorporated into religious rituals, albeit with differing perspectives. This research reveals the role of amulets in shaping spiritual and cultural identity, both in the past and in contemporary times. The study contributes to interdisciplinary research in the fields of socio-cultural studies, religion, and the humanities, and broadens the understanding of the function and significance of amulets as universal spiritual symbols

Abstract

This paper discusses the urgency of religious activities in maintaining the stability of faith in generation Z. This research uses literature study type research, with a descriptive approach. Seeing today's generation Z who lack spiritual understanding of aqidah (faith), which causes their thinking and behavior to experience a lot of mistakes, with this, the urgency of religious activities is very important to follow and implement into the lives of generation Z, with the hope of providing understanding and maintaining the quality of their aqidah (faith), so that their behavior and faith remain stable and away from understanding and bad associations. Religious activities, such as digital studies, religious concerts, religious organizations, which have recently attracted a lot of young people, especially generation Z because these activities are fun because the methods and approaches carried out are specific to today's generation which has digital characteristics. With these activities, in fact, it is also very effective in increasing understanding and increasing their spiritual faith.
