Al-Qalam: Jurnal Kajian Islam dan Pendidikan merupakan jurnal peer-reviewed open-access yang didirikan untuk menyebarluaskan pengetahuan mutakhir di bidang kajian islam dan pendidikan islam. Para editor pada akan meninjau semua naskah yang dikirimkan yang kemudian dievaluasi oleh minimal dua Peninjau melalui proses peninjauan double-blind. Abstract

This study aims to test the effect of the scientific approach on students' critical thinking skills in Islamic Religious Education learning at SMP Negeri 35 Sinjai. This study is an ex-post facto study, with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of grades VII 1, VII 2, VIII 1, VIII 2, IX 1, IX 2. The sample determination used the Slovin formula with a total of 93 students. The data collection methods used were questionnaires and documentation. In analyzing and proving this, validity and reliability tests, normality and linearity tests, and hypothesis tests were used using simple linear regression tests. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained a hypothesis that the significance value of 0.000 <0.05, and the t count value of 17.325> t table value of 1.986 so that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. So it can be concluded that the scientific approach influences students' critical thinking skills in Islamic Religious Education learning at SMP Negeri 35 Sinjai with an influence of 76.7% and is included in the strong category.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Tarlawi local language revitalization in strengthening Islamic education and preserving local wisdom values in Wawo District, Bima Regency. The method used in this research is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach, data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation of traditional leaders, educators, and local communities who have relevance to this research. The results showed that Tarlawi language functions not only as a means of communication, but also as an educative and spiritual medium that contains noble values such as mutual cooperation (tutan dampa riman dadi), respect for teachers (kanemba guru, then kanemba Allah), and other social and religious ethics. This language has a significant role in shaping learners' character and strengthening the community's cultural identity. This research recommends the integration of Tarlawi language into the Islamic education curriculum, local culture-based teacher training, and the development of contextual teaching materials. The revitalization of this local language has proven to be a bridge between character education and the preservation of Islamic values that live in the local culture of the Wawo community.

Abstract

The implementation of the habituation stage of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) in elementary schools includes several aspects, including reading activities before the learning process begins which are carried out for 15 minutes, the availability of text-rich facilities and environments, the creation of a literacy environment, the selection of reading books, and active participation from the public. The purpose of this study is to summarize various findings related to the implementation, strategies, and impacts of the GLS habituation stage, especially at the elementary school level. This type of research is qualitative research with the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to examine the implementation of the habituation stage of the School Literacy Movement in elementary schools. The results of the study based on the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) have generally achieved all indicators of the habituation stage of the School Literacy Movement in elementary schools. However, there are still schools that are not optimal in their implementation. This is due to limitations in facilities that support literacy such as limitations in reading materials

Abstract

This study aims to test the Influence of the Tasmi' Method and the Motivation to Memorize the Qur'an on the Quality of Al-Qur'an Memorization of MTs Students in Islamic Boarding Schools. This type of research is ex post facto with a quantitative approach. Data collection techniques are tests, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique is carried out by classical assumption tests, namely normality tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, autocorrelation tests, then multiple linear regression tests, namely the T test and F test. The results of the study showed that the T test of the tasmi' method (X1) was obtained from T-count of 2,598 with a significant value of 0.017, this shows a significant value smaller than 0.05 (0.05> 0.017) Ttable (2,598> 1.725), it can be said that the hypothesis Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, which means that there is an influence of the tasmi method (X1) on the quality of Al-Qur'an memorization (Y). The results of the T test of the Motivation to Memorize the Qur'an (X2) contained a t count of -2.380 with a significant value of 0.027 which indicates that the significant value is smaller than 0.05 (0.027 <0.05) ttable (-2.380> 1.725), then it is said that the hypothesis Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected which means that the motivation to memorize the Qur'an (X2) has an effect on the quality of Al-Qur'an memorization (Y). The results of the F Test are that there is an influence of the tasmi method (X1) and the motivation to memorize the Qur'an (X2) on the quality of Al-Qur'an memorization (Y) of female MTs students at the Islamic Boarding School, obtained a value of 0.004 <0.05 with a large influence of 39.4%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of students' character through Islamic Religious Education learning with the da'wah method in class VIII.1 of SMP Negeri 7 Makassar, teacher efforts in developing character, inhibiting factors, and out-of-class programs that support character development. This study uses a qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the study indicate that students' characters experience positive changes, such as honesty, discipline, and responsibility, with discipline having the highest percentage (81.81%) and hard work the lowest (51.51%). Teachers try to instill character through the habituation of positive values. Inhibiting factors include lack of awareness, motivation to learn, and student responsibility. The supporting programs outside the classroom include Scouts, OSIS, RPM, English, Paskibra, and Football. This study concludes that the da'wah method is effective in shaping students' character gradually

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of an emotional intelligence-based mentoring program in developing teaching skills, collaboration, and academic careers of young lecturers at KH. Mukhtar Syafaat University, Banyuwangi. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation for validity. The findings show that the emotional intelligence-based mentoring program effectively supports the professional growth of young lecturers. The program focuses on empathy, self-awareness, and social skills, which enhance teaching, academic communication, and adaptation to institutional dynamics. Positive mentor-mentee interactions foster an environment conducive to personal and professional development. Additionally, the program successfully cultivated a culture of mutual support through continuous mentoring, including collaborations in author programs, research, Community Service (PKM), and Lecturer Performance Reports (LKD). However, challenges such as time limitations and generational experience gaps persist, offering valuable feedback for future improvements to the program.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of work ethic on teacher performance at SMP Muhammadiyah 11 Makassar City. Considered as an important component that supports professionalism and learning success is teacher work ethic. In this study, a quantitative approach was used together with a survey. The relationship between work ethic and teacher performance was studied using inferential statistical techniques after data were obtained from questionnaires distributed to a number of participating teachers. The results of the study showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between work values ​​and teacher performance. Teachers who have high work enthusiasm tend to get good results, especially in terms of planning, implementing, and evaluating learning. This finding suggests that improving teacher work ethic helps improve the quality of education. Therefore, fostering work ethic is an important part of the continuous development of teacher professionalism.

Abstract

The research findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers have a significant impact on the character development of 9th-grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Makassar. Partially, the three variables-wisdom-based methods, exemplary behavior, and facilitation-showed t-values greater than the t-table values and significance levels below 0.05. Additionally, the overall significance value of 0.0497 is less than 0.05, and the F-value of 0.497 is greater than the F-table value of 0.020, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. This means that the combination of the three teacher development approaches significantly influences students' character formation. The independent variables contribute 20% to the dependent variable, while the remaining 80% is influenced by other factors not included in this study. These findings highlight the crucial role of PAI teachers in shaping students' character at school

Abstract

This study examines how the Ummi technique can be used to help fifth grade students at UPT SDN 56 Salodua, Enrekang Regency, read the Qur'an more fluently. The focus of this study was Islamic Religious Education Teachers and fifth grade students at UPT SDN 56 Salodua, Enrekang Regency, with a total of 27 students, including 13 males and 14 females. Classroom action research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles, each of which included planning, action, observation, and reflection. Because some students did not achieve the KKM in the first cycle, a second cycle was conducted. The results of the study showed that the use of the Ummi method significantly improved the quality of students' reading of the Qur'an. As many as 92% of students completed it in cycle II, up from 63% in cycle I. These results indicate how well the Ummi technique works to help fifth grade students at UPT SDN 56 Salodua become more proficient readers of the Qur'an.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of parents in overcoming juvenile delinquency in Kalumbatan Village, Banggai Islands Regency. Qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach were used. Data were collected through intensive interviews with parents of teenagers and community leaders. The results of the study describe several forms of juvenile delinquency behavior in Kalumbatan Village, including smoking, drinking alcohol, theft, promiscuity, and fighting between groups. The role of parents in overcoming this behavior is identified in five main aspects: teaching moral and religious values, habituating positive behavior, providing motivation and support, developing roles as role models, and enforcing consistent family rules. This study highlights the importance of the active role of parents in preventing and overcoming juvenile delinquency behavior. A holistic approach that integrates teaching, habituation, motivation, role modeling, and enforcing family discipline has proven to be very important in forming positive adolescent characters and preventing deviant behavior.
