The Journal of Social Work and Science Education (JSWSE) is firmly established as an authoritative voice in the world of social work and science education with E-ISSN: 2723-6919 and P-ISSN 2746-0827. JSWSE publishes scholarly papers that focus on the social science, teaching and learning, science in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education. It bridges the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion. As a truly international journal, JSWSE welcomes contributions from any country provided that the authors explain their local contexts and demonstrate the significance of their work for a global readership. Special emphasis is placed on applicable research relevant to social sciences, educational practice, educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. JSWSE is concerned with social science and science education but also welcomes manuscripts on the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or, geography, and the arts. It is published by Yayasan Sembilan Pemuda Indonesia and it will regularly be published three times a year, in April, August, and December.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine and assess the effect of education and training and work environment on teacher’s performance. This study uses quantitative research methods and the research design is in the form of an influence study, to determine the effect between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The findings demonstrated that there is a significant effect of the education and training and work environment partially and simultaneously on the performance of State Junior High School teachers in Pemulutan District. The novelty of this article, where the school will have good teacher’s performance, all stakeholders should create good work environment and give chance for teachers’ education and training.

Abstract

Corruption has become a pressing concern in Indonesia, penetrating various sectors of society. Tackling this issue, integrity education at the tertiary level has emerged as an underexplored strategic solution. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and role of integrity education in fostering anti-corruption commitment among university students. A systematic literature review examines diverse integrity education strategies and implementations. Results indicate that integrity education positively influences individuals’ awareness and attitudes toward corrupt practices. Challenges, however, persist in fully integrating these concepts into curricula and promoting active student engagement. The main conclusion emphasizes the crucial role of integrity education in cultivating a resilient anti-corruption generation within universities. Implications encompass the need for interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships to develop a comprehensive approach. Practical recommendations include innovative teaching methods and further research to assess integrity education’s impact on higher education. This study contributes to comprehending anti-corruption efforts through integrated integrity education within research limitations.

Abstract

This research is an experiment with the pretest-posttest control group design method. The type of research used in this study is a type of experimental research with a quasi-experimental design. This research is experimental research and the research design used is a Quasi-Experimental Design, namely the Group Pretest Posttest Design. The sample used in this study were players aged 13-15 years, Persegrata Palembang football school (SSB) students in 2023, totaling 10 players. The sampling technique in this study used a systematic sampling technique and an ordinal pair system. This research as a whole used test, measurement, and documentation methods. The results of the study showed differences between the group of students who used the barrier hop training model and those who used the jump-to-box training model for their shooting abilities. This means that the training model has a significant role in shooting ability. Also, there are differences in passing and shooting skills between groups of students who receive the barrier hop training model and the group of students who receive the jump-to-box training model.

Abstract

This research was conducted at SD Negeri 1 Rejosari, East OKU Regency, it was found that the physical condition of students at SD Negeri 1 Rejosari, East OKU Regency during the post COVID-19 pandemic, they had not experienced physical decline, as seen from warming up, they had experienced fatigue even though they had not entered the core material of PJOK (Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, dan Kesehatanlearning). So, I as a researcher am very enthusiastic to know the physical fitness of these students. With the state or condition after the pandemic. The purpose of this study was to determine how far the physical fitness level of SDN 1 Rejosari students after the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method is quantitative descriptive research, namely research by giving tests to students, so that physical fitness results are obtained and analysis is carried out. The instrument used in this study was the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (Tes Kesegaran Jasmani Indonesia). The test items consisted of a 40-meter sprint, a bent elbow hanging test, a 30-second sitting lie test measured using a sit up test, an upright jump and 600-meter run. The data analysis used in this study calculated the physical fitness performance of SDN 1 Rejosari students after the COVID-19 pandemic. The results state that the analysis of the physical fitness of SDN 1 Rejosari students after the COVID-19 pandemic is still lacking.

Abstract

This is descriptive qualitative research using interview data collection techniques and field observations. This study aims to look at the principal’s leadership in increasing teacher performance at SD Negeri 10 Koba, Central Bangka Regency. Teacher performance can be reviewed and measured based on the content that must be owned by every educator. It can be displayed through the dominance of pedagogic, professional, personality and social competencies. Considering that the principal’s leadership on teacher performance is very influential, it is suggested that at SD Negeri 10 Koba, Central Bangka Regency, increasing teacher performance can be done through career development for teachers through training or educational seminars.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve school principals’ supervisory skills in order to increase the professionalism of education workers in Jambi Province. A descriptive qualitative technique is used in this descriptive qualitative research. Snowball sampling was used to identify research subjects, which included school principals, vice principals, and educational personnel. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentation. SMAN in Jambi Province is the research location. The study’s findings are the supervisory skills of school principals in increasing the professionalism of education staff in Jambi Province, which include: a) planning through a work program determined by the principal’s policy, b) distributing education staff in their respective tasks, even if some are not according to their expertise, c) in carrying out work such as entering key school data into computers, filing correspondence, distributing correspondence, and storing school goods, and d) administrative work is still rarely supervised at SMA Negeri 1 Jambi City. The study’s conclusion is that administrative professionals must adhere to specified service operational criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the implementation of the driving school program in improving the quality of education at SMAN South Sumatra. This research was conducted at the South Sumatra High School located in Jakabaring, Palembang, South Sumatra. implementation in this research activity, namely for two months from November 10 to December 10, 2022. The research is a type of qualitative research with an analytical descriptive flow that has the aim of proving various kinds of norms and theories regarding the quality of education in terms of the Pancasila Strengthening Project Bangunlah jiwa and Body and its application to the object of research. In qualitative research, the information obtained is generally in the form of words, and descriptive, and the majority is not in the form of numbers. Collecting data and information obtained by researchers while in the field by obtaining direct surveys and documentation and research results, almost 90% of students can implement the driving school program to improve education at SMAN South Sumatra from the results of the researcher’s evaluation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the high potential of long jump athletics to be a positive activity and opportunity for students to achieve achievements at SMP Negeri 2 Madang Suku III. The problem in this study was that there had never been tests and evaluations before regarding the physical condition of students which affected the results of long jumps such as running speed and leg muscle explosive power. Therefore, researchers need to conduct a survey regarding the ability to run speed and explosive power of the leg muscles so that the coach or teacher understands the lack of physical condition and can improve the training program that will be given to students. The purpose of this study was to examine and survey the ability of running speed and muscle explosive power of students of SMP Negeri 2 Madang TRIPS III. The research design is in the form of descriptive statistics with a total of 25 students as subjects. The ice instrument uses a 30-meter run test and a vertical jump test. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques in the form of mean, mode, standard deviation, and coefficient of variance. From the data analysis, two conclusions were obtained, namely (1) the results of the 30-meter running speed test obtained 20% (5 people) in the very good category, and 48% (12 people) in the good category. 32% (8 people) category is poor. (2) the results of the leg muscle explosive power test obtained 4% (1 person) in the very good category, 40% (10 people) in the good category, and 56% (14 people) in the poor category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the average running speed of students at SMP Negeri 2 Madang Suku III is in a good category. While the explosive power ability of the leg muscles of students of SMP Negeri 2 Madang Suku III on average is in the poor category.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to examine leadership management in increasing the quality of PTKIS in Jambi Province. This study employs a qualitative technique with a descriptive-analytical focus. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Purposive sampling was used to identify research subjects. Techniques for data analysis include data reduction, data display, conclusion, and verification. Reliability through prolonged participation procedures, observational accuracy, data triangulation, and promoter consultation. The findings of this study are the leadership planning in improving the quality of PTKIS in Jambi Province by compiling a work program, distributing existing human resources in a number of predetermined tasks, even though many human resources are not in accordance with their expertise, carrying out existing work programs, seeking accreditation that is consistent with standards, recruiting lecturers based on their competence, and ensuring the continuity of the lecturers.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the development of a Discord server as a platform for implementing a blended learning model in the context of 100-meter athletic run training among Class VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Rejang Lebong. The research involved designing and implementing various learning activities on the Discord server, including video tutorials on athletic techniques, live streaming of expert demonstrations, interactive quizzes, and discussion forums for student collaboration and feedback. The server also served as a platform for teachers to provide timely guidance and personalized support to students. Data collection involved pre- and post-intervention assessments, as well as surveys and interviews to gather student feedback on their experiences with the Discord server. The results indicated a positive impact of the blended learning model on student engagement, motivation, and performance in the 100-meter athletic run. Students appreciated the flexibility and interactive nature of the online platform, which allowed them to review instructional videos at their own pace and seek clarifications from both peers and teachers. This research contributes to the growing body of literature on the effective integration of digital technologies in physical education, specifically in the context of 100-meter athletic run training. The findings highlight the potential of the Discord server as a versatile tool for creating a collaborative and interactive learning environment, fostering student-centered learning, and promoting physical activity engagement.
