Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively describe how the Independent Curriculum is implemented at SD Negeri 02 Palembang, particularly in the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages of learning. The Independent Curriculum itself is a new policy in Indonesian education that emphasizes student-centered learning, character building, and provides more flexibility for teachers to design learning processes according to the context and needs of students. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct field observations, and documentation of learning activities. Key informants consisted of the principal, several teachers, and students from the upper grades. The results showed that the planning of the Independent Curriculum at SD Negeri 02 Palembang was carried out collaboratively, with the development of teaching modules and learning tools tailored to predetermined learning outcomes. In practice, learning takes place in a participatory manner with a variety of approaches, including the use of project-based methods designed to develop the Pancasila Student Profile in students. Learning evaluation is conducted continuously through formative and summative assessments, supported by diagnostic assessments that assist teachers in designing strategies for future learning improvements. Although the implementation of the Independent Curriculum faced several obstacles, such as limited resources and uneven teacher understanding of the new curriculum, the school remains strongly committed to implementing the Independent Curriculum in a phased and sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study analyzed how to optimize SLiMS 8 Acacia in improving the quality of library services at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu and analyze the factors that hinder the optimization. This research is qualitative research using interview, observation and documentation methods. The results show that the optimization of the use of SLiMS 8 Acacia has been carried out through the establishment of clear service objectives, the development of additional features, and the integration of the system with user needs. These efforts have been proven to improve the quality of library services, especially in terms of ease of access to information, efficiency of collection management, and improvement of users' digital literacy. In addition, SLiMS-based services are considered quite good when viewed from five service quality indicators, namely appearance, reliability, responsiveness, certainty, and empathy for the needs of the librarian. Some of the obstacles faced include limited technology infrastructure, lack of competent human resources in technical/IT terms, uneven levels of technology literacy among users, and technical obstacles related to data migration and integration from previous systems.

Abstract

This study analysed the settlement of mineral and coal mining criminal acts through a restorative justice approach as an alternative to the conventional criminal justice system as well as It seeks to identify the distinctive characteristics of equitable settlement mechanisms and to develop a reformulated model that aligns with the principles of sustainable mining development. Using a normative juridical (doctrinal) research method, the study examines statutory regulations, judicial decisions, and scholarly works related to the settlement of mining crimes. The analysis involves both primary and secondary legal materials to evaluate the coherence between current legal norms and restorative principles. A prescriptive approach is applied to propose legal reform aimed at integrating restorative mechanisms into the mining law framework. Findings revealed that the Mining Law primarily focuses on punitive measures and has yet to regulate restorative justice mechanisms. Mining-related offenses encompass illegal mining, false data submission, failure to reclaim, and environmental destruction. The study shows that applying restorative justice through penal mediation, restorative conferences, and community-based dialogue can accelerate resolution, reduce costs, and address victims’ needs while restoring social harmony. It provides a framework for government institutions to mediate mining disputes effectively while ensuring social and ecological recovery. The study contributes to the advancement of legal scholarship by bridging restorative justice theory with mining governance. It establishes a foundation for formulating future legal reforms that emphasize comprehensive, fair, and sustainable approaches to resolving mining-related criminal cases.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how self-efficacy and self-esteem influence Generation Z employees’ intention to stay (ItS) in Malang City startups through motivation and employee engagement. Using a quantitative approach with PLS-SEM mediation analysis, data were collected from 200 Gen Z employees (aged 18–27) across startups at Malang via validated Likert-scale questionnaires. Results reveal that self-efficacy directly enhances employees’ intention to stay, motivation, and engagement, whereas self-esteem bolsters motivation and engagement but does not directly influence their intention to remain. Interestingly, high engagement can paradoxically reduce the intention to stay, as it often leads to burnout from excessive workloads and insufficient rewards. Furthermore, motivation successfully mediates the relationship between both self-efficacy and self-esteem on the intention to stay, a mediating role that engagement does not fulfill. Novelty lies in integrating Social Cognitive Theory and Social Exchange Theory to resolve prior inconsistencies in the understudied context of Gen Z in Indonesian startups. Startups can boost Gen Z retention by building self-efficacy through structured training, implementing performance-based rewards, and enforcing strict work-life balance policies to prevent engaged employees from burning out. This study offers a theoretical contribution by integrating Social Cognitive and Social Exchange Theories to reveal the paradoxical pathway where employee engagement reduces retention, while confirming motivation’s crucial mediating role in the Indonesian Gen Z startup context.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of utilizing creative Indonesian traditional dance videos via YouTube as an innovative learning medium in cultural arts education in elementary schools. In addition, it highlights the contribution of audiovisual media in enhancing students’ interest, motivation, and engagement, while also supporting cultural preservation efforts. The research adopts a qualitative approach with Robert K. Yin’s (2009) case study design and employs a descriptive method. Data were collected through two stages of questionnaire surveys (136 teachers in the first stage and 124 teachers in the second stage), in-depth interviews with 18 teachers and prospective teachers selected purposively, and triangulation through thematic analysis, word cloud, and member checking. Strategic analysis was conducted using IFE, EFE, SWOT, and SPACE matrices to formulate strategies for implementing creative dance videos as learning media. The findings reveal that conventional dance learning using printed textbooks resulted in low levels of teacher and student interest and engagement. In contrast, the use of creative dance videos (Kedun Dance, Gegelea Beregam Dance, and Tatagok Dance) significantly increased teacher interest (99.8% interested/very interested), student motivation and engagement (73.4% more active), learning effectiveness (100% reported effective), and teacher creativity (91.9%). The novelty of this research lies in combining a qualitative case study approach with strategic analysis (SWOT and SPACE) to evaluate the use of digital media in cultural arts education. Its main contribution is offering a model for utilizing creative dance videos on YouTube as an innovative tool to enhance the quality of dance learning while strengthening Indonesia’s cultural identity among younger generations.

Abstract

While the Indonesian Teacher Leader program is a key policy initiative, empirical research on its direct impact on classroom learning quality is scarce. This qualitative case study at SMA Negeri 1 Bengkulu Selatan employed interviews, observations, and document analysis to explore the roles of Teacher Leaders. Findings reveal that Teacher Leaders perform five key roles: learning leader, coach, collaboration driver, promoter of student agency, and facilitator of professional communities. These roles significantly enhanced differentiated instruction, teacher collaboration, and student-centered learning. The study concludes that the Teacher Leader program, when implemented effectively, is a powerful lever for improving learning quality and fostering a collaborative school culture. The novelty of this study lies in its in-depth exploration of how Teacher Leaders translate policy into classroom practices in the Indonesian context. The practical implication is that schools should strengthen professional learning communities and student leadership programs to maximize the impact of Teacher Leaders. This research contributes to the limited body of literature on teacher leadership in Southeast Asia by providing empirical evidence of its role in enhancing instructional quality and collaborative culture.

Abstract

In Indonesia, a significant portion of the productive-age population lacks formal secondary education credentials, limiting their employment and further education opportunities. This study employed a qualitative goal-oriented evaluation (Tyler, 1949) to assess the relevance and effectiveness of the C Level Equivalency Program at PKBM Putri Raflesia, using interviews, observations, and document analysis. Findings indicate that the program’s objectives are highly relevant to learners’ needs for diplomas and skills. The flexible, andragogical approach was effective in improving comprehension and participation, leading to significant impacts on graduates’ self-confidence, employment, and educational mobility. The study concludes that the C Level program is a vital mechanism for socio-economic empowerment, demonstrating that program success hinges more on pedagogical strategies and relevance than on material resources. This research contributes by highlighting the role of community-based non-formal education in addressing educational inequality, providing practical insights for policymakers to strengthen adult learning programs, and offering novelty in applying Tyler’s model to evaluate non-formal education for productive-age learners in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of green budgeting in public institutions and to examine the relationship between green budgeting, budget efficiency, and environmentally friendly technology as a mediating variable. The research involved 52 respondents consisting of operational, IT, and financial planning staff across several public institutions. The method employed was a questionnaire survey and observation, while data analysis was carried out descriptively and inferentially using mediation regression tests. Descriptive analysis results indicate a positive trend across all variables. For green budgeting, 13% of respondents strongly agreed, 73% agreed, 12% were neutral, and 2% disagreed. Regarding budget efficiency, 13% strongly agreed, 73% agreed, 12% were neutral, and 2% disagreed. Similarly, for environmentally friendly technology, 13% strongly agreed, 73% agreed, 12% were neutral, and 2% disagreed. These findings consistently show that the majority of respondents perceive their institutions as supporting environmentally oriented budgeting policies, implementing efficient budget use, and adopting environmentally friendly technologies in operational activities. The inferential test results confirmed that green budgeting has a positive effect on budget efficiency (β = 0.550; p < 0.05). However, after including environmentally friendly technology as a mediating variable, the direct effect of green budgeting on efficiency becomes insignificant (β = 0.180; p > 0.05). This indicates full mediation, where green budgeting enhances budget efficiency through the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies. These findings highlight that green budgeting policies in public institutions can foster efficiency, particularly through document digitization, the use of energy-saving equipment, and the implementation of paperless office policies.

Abstract

Philosophy of science has a very essential role in directing the development of science and technology. As a discipline that studies the nature, methods, and limitations of science, philosophy of science helps provide epistemological, ontological, and axiological foundations in the development of various scientific fields. This study aims to examine the role of philosophy of science in shaping scientific paradigms and its impact on the development of science and technology through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. By analyzing various studies published in the last five years, this study found that philosophy of science not only functions as a conceptual framework for the development of science, but also as an ethical guide in the use of technology. The research findings show that a deep understanding of the philosophy of science can improve the integration between technological innovation and human values, resulting in more responsible and sustainable scientific development. Thus, this study emphasizes the urgency of a philosophical approach in ensuring the direction of the development of science and technology that is in line with the needs of society and the principles of ethics and sustainability.
