Abstract

The high rate of divorce among young couples has become a concerning social issue, including in Kencong, Jember Regency. Based on data from the Kencong Religious Affairs Office (KUA), most divorce cases in 2023 involved couples around 21 years old, with primary causes including economic problems, social media influence, and pressure from extended families. This community service aims to support efforts to prevent early-age divorce by strengthening the pre-marital counseling program at KUA Kencong. The method used is the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which includes the stages of preparing, discovering, dreaming, defining, designing, and destiny. Activities were carried out through field observations, interviews with religious counselors, as well as mentoring and reinforcement of the existing pre-marital counseling program. The results indicate that strengthening this program has improved young couples’ awareness in preparing for marriage emotionally, spiritually, and socially. The implication of this activity is the need for sustainable collaboration between academics and the KUA to develop contextual and continuous educational programs that can reduce early-age divorce rates.

Abstract

Stunting is a significant public health issue in Indonesia, particularly among pregnant women and children. Based on the data from the village posyandu in Garahan in 2024, the number of Stunting cases in Garahan Village reached 13 children. This research aims to provide education on the utilization of catfish protein content as a strategy to prevent Stunting in pregnant women in Garahan Village. Catfish is chosen because of its high protein content and its relatively easy availability in local communities, especially in Garahan Village. The method used in this research is educating the utilization of catfish protein as a nutritional option for preventing Stunting in pregnant women. This education also aims to provide in-depth knowledge about Stunting and to equip PKK cadres and the residents of Garhan village with new skills. In addition, there has been a decrease in the incidence of Stunting in infants born to mothers who regularly consume catfish. This finding indicates that the utilization of catfish as a source of protein can be an effective strategy in preventing Stunting among pregnant women in rural areas. This research suggests the need for the implementation of educational programs and subsidies to improve the accessibility of catfish among pregnant women as part of efforts to prevent Stunting.

Abstract

The implementation of entrepreneurship education in Indonesia contributes significantly to fostering students' independence and creativity, while equipping them with life skills that are in line with the needs of the world of work and social change. This service research aims to explore and analyse the application of entrepreneurship education in the context of the Pancasila and Rahmatan Lil Alamin (P5RA) Student Profile Strengthening Project and its impact on students' creativity, independence, and character building. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. This research involved students in grades VII and VIII of MTs Negeri 9 Jember as subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, and analysed descriptively. The results of this service research show that the integration of entrepreneurship with the values of Pancasila and Rahmatan Lil Alamin can increase student creativity in designing and implementing entrepreneurial projects based on social needs. In addition, this programme also succeeded in increasing students' independence in making decisions and managing entrepreneurial projects. However, there are challenges related to limited facilities and time management that still need to be considered to improve the effectiveness of the implementation of this programme. Therefore, it is necessary to co-operate with the role of teachers, parents and skills assistants so that overall, entrepreneurship education in the P5RA Project carried out makes a positive contribution to the improvement and development of students' skills

Abstract

The primary livelihood of the residents of Sidomulyo Village is coffee farming. Although coffee production is abundant, coffee husk waste is often discarded and has not been optimally managed. Therefore, this community engagement initiative aims to empower the people of Sidomulyo Village through the utilization of coffee husk waste, which has traditionally been regarded as mere refuse. Employing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, this program actively involved community members throughout the entire process—from problem identification and planning to action and reflection or evaluation. The main focus of the study is the transformation of coffee husk waste into value-added products, while simultaneously maintaining a clean environment by reducing the accumulation of waste. The findings indicate an increase in community knowledge and skills related to waste management, along with a growing awareness of the importance of environmental stewardship. Thus, not only does this initiative empowers the community in addressing local waste issues, but it also contributes to enhancing environmental awareness among residents.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the capacity of early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in independently managing classrooms through systematic classroom management training focused on the Merdeka Curriculum. This activity is driven by the low level of understanding and skills of teachers in implementing classroom management principles in accordance with the spirit of independent learning, which emphasizes enjoyable, child-centered, and contextual learning. The implementation method of this service adopts a participatory approach with a continuous training model consisting of three stages: needs assessment, in-depth training, and implementation mentoring. This activity was conducted over three months and involved 20 early childhood education teachers in the Gumukmas District as participants. The results of the activity show significant progress in teachers' understanding of classroom management concepts, their ability to create classroom management plans in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum, and the implementation of appropriate and responsive teaching strategies to meet students' needs. In addition, the participants showed an increase in their independence in managing a safe and motivating learning environment. The recommendation from this activity is the importance of further training and periodic mentoring, as well as cooperation between educational institutions and local governments to support the sustainability of efficient classroom management practices in early childhood education (PAUD). The results of this research are expected to serve as a reference for educational institutions in designing similar training models in other regions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of early financial literacy guidance activities in fostering a saving culture among elementary school students in Bulu Village, Sugihwaras, Bojonegoro. Using a descriptive-quantitative approach, the study measures changes in students’ knowledge, attitudes, and saving behavior after participating in the program. Data were collected through observation, pretest–posttest questionnaires, and teacher and parent assessments using a Likert scale. The results show a significant increase in students’ knowledge and attitudes toward financial literacy, with the average pretest score rising from 62.8 to 83.5 in the posttest (p-value = 0.001 < 0.05). This indicates that the guidance activities positively influenced students’ understanding and attitudes in managing their pocket money. In terms of saving behavior, 78.3% of students began saving regularly with an average weekly balance of IDR 12,000. This behavioral change is also reflected in the increased frequency of saving, consistency in maintaining savings, and the ability to set simple financial goals. In addition to the impact on students, the program also received positive responses from teachers and parents. The average teacher satisfaction score reached 4.47, while parental support scored 4.04. The highest-rated aspects among teachers were the material (4.83) and the program’s results (4.76), while parents gave the highest score to the results (4.59). These findings indicate that the financial literacy guidance was perceived as relevant, engaging, and impactful in changing students’ behavior. The implications of this study show that early financial literacy education not only enhances knowledge but also fosters responsible financial character through sustainable saving habits. The program’s success was supported by collaboration among schools, teachers, and parents, contributing to the strengthening of economic character education in elementary schools. Evaluation through weekly savings monitoring, pretest–posttest comparisons, and reflections from teachers and parents showed that the program effectively instilled values of discipline, responsibility, and financial awareness in children. Thus, the activity successfully established a sustainable saving culture as the foundation for healthy economic behavior among the younger generation.
