Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that there are still many teaching practices by teachers who still apply conventional learning approaches. Therefore, this research wants to test a new learning approach that emphasizes aspects of student involvement in their active cognitive processes by using the Reading, Mind Mapping, and Sharing (RMS) learning model. The main objectives of this study include two things. First, to test the effectiveness of the RMS learning model in improving students' academic performance in the form of problem-solving abilities. Second, to see how much influence the RMS learning model has in enhancing the ability to solve these problems. This study used a quasi-experimental research design on two groups of research subjects. Data analysis was carried out using several statistical techniques, namely the independent sample t-test to test the effectiveness of the RMS learning model on problem-solving abilities and calculating the effect size value to see how much influence the RMS learning model had in influencing the increase in problem-solving skills. This study found two findings: the RMS learning model has proven effective in improving problem-solving skills and has a high influence on improving problem-solving abilities. The RMS Learning Model is a foundational strategy for educators in Islamic Religious Education to boost student cognitive engagement.

Abstract

Moral degradation among Indonesian teenagers is a problem that has not yet been resolved, wildly since this moral degradation has penetrated boarding school institutions, which have good character education. So, this study aims to identify effective methods dormitory ustaz use in shaping student discipline, investigating obstacles and supporters in shaping student discipline at Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta. This research uses a qualitative case study method. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. The informants in this study were dormitory ustaz, santri, and parents of santri. The results of this study show some of the efforts of the boarding coach in improving the disciplinary character of students in the era of moral degradation, including building good communication between the boarding ustaz and the parents of the students, conducting intensive communication with the students and supervising the daily routine of the students. The results of this study also show that ustaz's efforts to improve students' disciplinary character impact their morale. They can recommend that dormitory managers design more effective and sustainable coaching programs to instill disciplinary values.

Abstract

As a result of the research, the data regarding the application of e-learning based on the Learning Management System (LMS) at UIN SGD Bandung is a form of readiness to welcome the digitization of education, which started in 2020. The university formed an exceptional IT team called PTIPD to handle the digitization of education by applying e-learning based on the Learning Management System (LMS). This research uses a qualitative method. From the results of interviews with several lecturers at the State Islamic University Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung regarding the use of e-learning based on the Learning Management System (LMS), the most widely used applications are e-knows and Google Classroom applications, there are also other applications such as zoom applications, google meet, WhatsApp, and others. The effectiveness of LMS at UIN SGD Bandung on learning depends on how the method is applied and how well students and teachers can adapt to technology in the learning context. Based on the description above, several factors influence learning using the LMS Learning Management System to be ineffective: lack of integration between online and face-to-face components, limitations in the use of technology, restrictions on interaction in learning, poor class management, and poor teaching quality.

Abstract

This study attempts to demonstrate the language acquisition theory, which says humans are natural learners who can learn by habituation. There is a song called Kun Fayakun, which has the same tune as Maroon 5's popular song Memories. This study examines the effectiveness of teaching Arabic simultaneously with English using that song for students. Sixty-four first-year UIN Salatiga students from Indonesia's various regions were requested to sing it in two versions, analyze the lyrics in two languages (Arabic and English), and map new vocabulary learned from the song. This study's data analysis will utilize a qualitative descriptive method based on experiment outcomes. Even though the respondents' initial English and Arabic abilities were rudimentary, with an average score of 6.5 out of 10, they stated that this multilingual popular song-based experiment provided them with a lot of information and new terminology in a pleasant and challenging way. These findings show that studying Arabic and English through popular song media can be a successful and entertaining technique for students.

Abstract

In vocational high schools focusing on academic science, students can learn religion through the tahfidz program. They can memorize the Al-Qur'an correctly with a systematic and focused program. This study aims to determine the implementation of the program and the improvement of students' memorization of the Al-Qur'an. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. The subjects of the study included the principal, deputy principal of ISMUBA, students, and religious teachers at Muhammadiyah 2 Palembang Vocational High School. Data were taken from the results of observations, interviews, and documentation. This study shows that the implementation of the tahfidz Al-Qur'an program is routinely carried out at the beginning of the first lesson after praying together and continued with a seven-minute lecture (kultum). This helps them memorize and understand the meaning of the contents of the verses of the Al-Qur'an. In addition, there is a follow-up in the form of mentoring, which is carried out after school hours are finished every week and is routinely mentored by ISMUBA teachers. Although this study is limited to one locus, it provides a theoretical contribution to learning the Al-Qur'an in vocational high schools in improving literacy and memorization of the Al-Qur'an through the tahfidh program.

Abstract

This study investigates the availability, effectiveness, and impact of support services for students with special needs in Islamiyah schools in Southwest Nigeria. Despite growing attention to inclusive education, many students with disabilities still face difficulties in transitioning through school and completing their education. Significant challenges include limited access to specialized support services, inadequate teacher training, and weak inclusive education policies. Although resources such as assistive technology, counselling, and specialized educational support exist, their implementation in Islamiyah schools is inconsistent and often dependent on external aid. Using a Convergent Parallel Design, the study collected quantitative and qualitative data from 17 Islamiyah schools through questionnaires and focus group discussions with teachers, school administrators, students with special needs, parents, and community leaders. Quantitative data were analyzed with SPSS, while qualitative insights were obtained through thematic analysis. The study's findings indicate that support services are inadequate and uneven, with urban schools generally better prepared than rural ones. The study highlights crucial factors for the educational success of students with special needs, such as family support, personal motivation, peer relationships, easy access to learning materials, and community involvement. The study emphasizes the need for policy reform, increased investment, and stronger stakeholder collaboration to improve inclusive practices in Islamiyah schools.

Abstract

This study explores how character values from Surah Luqman verse 13-19 can be integrated into Indonesia's character education curriculum. The main issue addressed is the gap between the ethical-religious ideals emphasized in national policies, such as the Pancasila Student Profile and the Guidelines for Strengthening Character Education, and their limited implementation in schools, where academic performance often prioritizes moral development. Using a qualitative library research approach, the study analyzed classical and contemporary Qur'anic interpretations, scholarly works, and official educational documents. Through thematic analysis of Luqman's advice, key values such as monotheism (tauhid), respect for parents, spiritual awareness, patience, humility, social responsibility, and ethical communication were identified and aligned with Indonesia's character education framework. These values were compared with curriculum indicators and policy guidelines, showing their relevance for teaching practices and school culture. The findings highlight that these values are consistent with Islamic educational traditions and modern character education theory. The study recommends that policymakers and educators adopt a more holistic approach, integrating Qur'anic values into curriculum content, teaching strategies, and school environments, to support students' moral and spiritual development. This approach offers a practical model for making character education in Indonesia more meaningful and transformative.

Abstract

The low level of Higher Order Thinking Skills and the conventional learning model applied in various schools is ineffective in improving students' HOTS, especially in Fiqh learning. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the Quantum Teaching learning model in enhancing the HOTS skills of tenth-grade students at MAN 4 Bantul. The study employs a quantitative and quasi-experimental design involving experimental and control classes. Cluster random sampling was used for sample selection. The research instruments consist of pretest and posttest questions that have been validated. Data analysis includes normality tests, homogeneity tests, t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores in the experimental class, with an average N-Gain of 68.49%, which is considered fairly effective, compared to the control class with an average N-Gain of 28.43%, which is regarded as less effective. Thus, the Quantum Teaching model has proven effective in enhancing students' HOTS skills in the Fiqh subject. This research improves HOTS of Fiqh learning students based on quantum teaching models and becomes a reference for teachers in designing learning strategies oriented towards HOTS.
