Abstract

This article aims to examine the dynamics of the education system in Private Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Swasta/PTKIS) in Indonesia through a systematic review approach. The study was conducted by identifying, evaluating, and synthesizing a range of scholarly articles, policy reports, and relevant documents published over the past ten years. The method involved searching academic databases using specific keywords, selecting documents based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and conducting thematic analysis of key emerging issues. The findings indicate that PTKIS in Indonesia face various challenges, including institutional governance, funding, academic quality, and graduate competitiveness. On the other hand, several innovations and strategic initiatives have been undertaken by PTKIS to improve educational quality, expand access, and strengthen collaboration with external parties. This review concludes that strengthening the PTKIS education system requires a holistic approach encompassing regulatory reform, sustainable financing, human resource development, and digital transformation to meet the demands of the times.

Abstract

Pendidikan adalah suatu norma dan persiapan untuk berperan dalam masyarakat, bangsa, dan negara. Banyak hal yang memengaruhi mutu pendidikan, dan yang paling berpengaruh adalah tenaga pengajar atau guru. Mengingat pentingnya posisi guru, diperlukan sistem evaluasi yang dapat mencerminkan kualitas pengajaran, yaitu penilaian kinerja guru (PKG), yang selanjutnya akan digunakan untuk pengembangan dan pelatihan dalam manajemen sumber daya manusia (MSDM) pendidikan. Ini dilakukan untuk memastikan bahwa kualitas guru terjaga. MSDM pendidikan yang berbasis PKG di SMP Negeri 3 Tangerang Selatan bertujuan untuk memelihara serta meningkatkan keterampilan guru. Penilaian diarahkan pada empat kemampuan guru beserta indikator yang menunjukkan mutu kinerja mereka secara keseluruhan. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam kategori penelitian kualitatif. Data dihimpun melalui wawancara, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Wawancara dilakukan dengan kepala sekolah sebagai pelaksana MSDM dan PKG, serta guru yang menjadi subjeknya. Dokumentasi mencakup data dari hasil PKG, dan observasi dilakukan dengan mengamati kegiatan belajar mengajar. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai guru di SMP Negeri 3 Tangerang Selatan berdasarkan PKG tergolong baik. Namun, terdapat beberapa kekurangan dalam aspek pedagogik dan profesionalisme. Kekurangan-kekurangan tersebut ditindaklanjuti melalui MSDM pendidikan, yang mencakup pengembangan guru melalui lokakarya, pelatihan kurikulum, seminar, peran KKG, serta peningkatan kualifikasi akademis. Dengan demikian, diharapkan kualitas pengajaran di SMP Negeri 3 Tangerang Selatan dapat terus mengalami peningkatan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Home Visit program and its impact on the development of multiple intelligences in students as well as the institutional development at the Ulul Albab Islamic Education Foundation in Jember. This research employs a qualitative approach with a field study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings reveal that the Home Visit program is systematically implemented, both through direct home visits and virtual meetings. The program positively contributes to the development of students' multiple intelligences, where teachers are able to adapt learning strategies based on each child's potential and needs. In addition, the Home Visit program strengthens the relationship between the school and parents, increases community participation, and contributes to improving the quality of the educational institution. This study recommends the continuous implementation of the Home Visit program, integrated with teacher capacity building and regular evaluations to ensure optimal outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the entrepreneurial management implemented at Pesantren Albidayah Jember in achieving the economic self-sufficiency of the pesantren. This research employs a qualitative approach with a field study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The findings reveal that Pesantren Albidayah has successfully developed several business units based on local potential, such as agriculture, livestock farming, and food production, with active involvement of the students (santri). The pesantren’s entrepreneurship not only contributes to the institution's economic independence but also shapes the students’ character to be self-reliant and competitive. This study recommends strengthening business management capacity and expanding market networks to support the sustainability of the pesantren's economic independence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi manajemen hubungan masyarakat yang diterapkan di Pondok Pesantren Baitul Hikmah, Sumba Barat, NTT, dalam menghadapi tantangan multikulturalisme dan globalisasi di era digital. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif jenis studi kasus, penelitian ini mengkaji tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi strategi humas yang dirancang pesantren untuk menjembatani keragaman budaya masyarakat lokal yang mayoritas Kristen sekaligus merespons dinamika global. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pondok Pesantren Baitul Hikmah menerapkan pendekatan berbasis nilai-nilai Islam universal yang inklusif untuk membangun hubungan yang harmonis di lingkungan masyarakat multikultural dan mayoritas Kristen sebesar 90%. Pemanfaatkan media digital sederhana seperti WhatsApp untuk berkomunikasi dengan wali santri dan masyarakat berjalan efektif, meskipun infrastruktur teknologi yang terbatas menjadi tantangan signifikan. Penggunaan platform medsos lainnya, instagram, facebook dan Youtube digunakan sebagai media dakwah dalam menyiarkan nilai-nilai Islam yang toleran, damai dan harmonis. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi humas berbasis kearifan lokal yang adaptif terhadap teknologi digital dapat menjadi solusi efektif dalam menjawab tantangan multikulturalisme dan globalisasi. Meskipun tidak menghasilkan peningkatan jumlah santri baru yang signifikan, namun pendekatan yang dijalankan berhasil mencapai tujuan yang lebih penting, yaitu membangun pemahaman yang lebih baik dan harmoni sosial di kalangan masyarakat mayoritas Kristen.

Abstract

Implementing Good University Governance (GUG) in Islamic Private Higher Education Institutions (PTKIS) based in pesantren presents unique dynamics compared to conventional universities. As institutions that integrate pesantren traditions with modern higher education systems, PTKIS pesantren face the dual challenge of preserving their moral-spiritual identity while simultaneously meeting global governance standards emphasizing accountability, transparency, and efficiency. This study employs library research to identify practices, challenges, and opportunities for applying GUG within the context of pesantren. The findings highlight the emergence of a moral governance concept as an additional pillar of GUG in PTKIS pesantren. This pillar emphasizes ta’dib (character education), sharia-based transparency, and sincerity (ikhlas), embedding a spiritual dimension into governance practices. Through this approach, PTKIS pesantren can construct a governance model that is both accountable and deeply rooted in Islamic values. In doing so, they contribute to strengthening the discourse on higher education governance in Indonesia and offering an alternative model that harmonizes managerial professionalism with moral-spiritual foundations.

Abstract

The main issue addressed in this study is the weak internalization of religious moderation values in primary education institutions when dealing with diversity. A lack of understanding of differences and the limited implementation of multicultural education may lead to intolerance. Therefore, it is important to examine how multicultural education management practices in elementary schools can serve as effective strategies for instilling moderate values and shaping tolerant and inclusive generations. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with field research conducted at SD Pelita Hati Jember. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation using purposive sampling. Data analysis followed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, which includes data condensation, display, and verification. Data validity was ensured through triangulation and member checking. The findings indicate that SD Pelita Hati Jember demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusive and globally oriented multicultural education through the integration of the 2013 National Curriculum and the Cambridge curriculum, tolerant leadership, and cross-cultural programs. Active learning and inclusive teaching practices help shape students’ religious moderation. However, infrastructure limitations remain a key challenge. Sustaining multicultural education requires institutional support and enhanced teacher capacity. This school serves as a strategic model for building moderate character in Indonesia’s plural society. This study contributes by providing an applicable model of multicultural education management in elementary schools. The findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and educators in designing inclusive learning strategies to promote moderate character in the context of Indonesia's diverse society.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan kepala madrasah mempunyai pengaruh yang sangat besar terhadap pencapaian keberhasilan pendidikan di madrasah. Salah satu usaha kepala madrasah untuk mencapai keberhasilan pendidikan adalah dengan berupaya menciptakan branding madrasah yang dapat menjadikan madrasah yang dipimpinnya memiliki ciri khas atau pembeda dengan madrasah lainnya. MTsN 1 Kota Palangka Raya merupakan satu-satunya Madrasah Tsanawiyah yang memiliki branding sebagai madrasah unggulan bidang akademik di Kota Palangka Raya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis bagaimana kepemimpinan kepala madrasah di MTsN 1 Kota Palangka Raya, bagaimana branding madrasah di MTsN 1 Kota Palangka Raya, dan ada atau tidaknya pengaruh antara kepemimpinan kepala madrasah terhadap branding madrasah di MTsN 1 Kota Palangka Raya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis pendekatan korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru yang berjumlah 53 orang dan peserta didik yang berjumlah 808 orang, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 251 responden yang diambil berdasarkan rumus Isaac dam Michael dengan taraf kesalahan atau sampling error 5%. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan teknik observasi, dokumentasi dan angket atau kuesioner yang telah dinyatakan valid dan reliabel berdasarkan hasil uji validitas dan reliabilitas, kemudian dibagikan secara online melalui Google Form. Uji hipotesis yang digunakan adalah regresi sederhana yang dilakukan dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS Statistics For Windows versi 27. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kepemimpinan kepala madrasah di MTsN 1 Kota Palangka Raya berada pada kategori sangat baik dengan persentase sebesar 81,6%, (2) branding yang ada di MTsN 1 Kota Palangka Raya berada pada kategori sangat baik dengan persentase sebesar 65,8%, (3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara variabel kepemimpinan kepala madrasah (X) terhadap variabel branding madrasah (Y) dengan nilai siginifikan sebesar 0,001 < 0,05, nilai thitung > ttabel atau 8,13 > 1,97 dan nilai fhitung > ftabel atau 66,091 > 1,97, sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yang artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kepemimpinan kepala madrasah terhadap branding madrasah di MTsN 1 Kota Palangka Raya.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools face major challenges in shaping a strong institutional image amid competition and technological advancement. This study aims to examine the synergy between public relations and strategic management in strengthening the positive image of Al-Faruqi Islamic Boarding School. Employing a qualitative approach through interviews, observation, and documentation, the findings reveal that public relations strategies are applied internally (communication with teachers, students, and staff) and externally (engaging the community, social media, and direct promotions such as roadshows and brochures). The use of platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook reflects a digital transformation, although management remains suboptimal. Moreover, the involvement of school leaders in public sermons serves as an effective communication tool. Regular evaluations are conducted to improve strategy implementation. The study concludes that a strategic integration between PR and management significantly enhances institutional image, community trust, and school competitiveness. Practically, the pesantren needs to improve digital media management and internal coordination to sustain its public reputation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kepemimpinan Inovatif kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di SMP Negeri 1 Pujer Bondowoso. Metode yang digunakan peneliti adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kepemimpinan inovatif yang dilaksanakan oleh kepala sekolah SMP Negeri 1 Pujer Bondowoso dalam Meningkatkan mutu pendidikan terdapat beberapa keberhasilan yang bisa meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di SMP Negeri 1 Pujer. Sifat yang dimiliki kepala sekolah yang bertanggung jawab, sabar, memiliki semangat yang tinggi dan senang memotivasi semua guru dan anggota sekolah agar terus belajar dan bersemangat.
