Abstract

This study examines the impact of social media trends on Generation Z's lifestyle, focusing on their physical and mental health. Generation Z, born between 1997 and 2012, is profoundly influenced by digital platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. The research uses qualitative content analysis to explore how social media shapes their behavior, emphasizing the prevalence of unhealthy habits such as poor diet, lack of physical activity, and the mental stress of striving for social acceptance. The findings indicate that social media trends often promote rapid and detrimental lifestyle changes, leading to physical issues like obesity and mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. The study highlights the importance of educating Generation Z on balanced media use and healthier lifestyle choices. Recommendations for future research include exploring effective interventions to mitigate these negative influences and implementing comprehensive educational programs. A multi-faceted approach involving parents, schools, and policymakers is essential to guide Generation Z towards healthier habits.

Abstract

The digitalization era is developing rapidly in Indonesia. The pandemic that occurred accelerated digital transformation in various fields. Various digital platforms were developed to support the continuity of education during the pandemic so that they could develop digital skills and improve the status of digital literacy in Indonesia. In addition to the positive impacts, there are also negative impacts from the development of digital transformation. The National Cyber and Crypto Polytechnic which focuses on information security is committed to encouraging increased digital skills and literacy in the surrounding community. Therefore, this time the National Cyber and Crypto Polytechnic located in Bogor Regency began to focus on developing digital skills and literacy among high school students or equivalent in Bogor Regency. The students' digital literacy status was first measured and then the right program or activity was determined to develop their digital skills and literacy. The digital literacy status was measured based on four pillars, Pillar 1 Digital Skill, Pillar 2 Digital Ethics, Pillar 3 Digital Safety, and Pillar 4 Digital Culture. Data collection was carried out by giving questionnaires to 276 high school students or equivalent who used the internet in Bogor Regency. Students give a score to each statement and then the score will be calculated as an average per pillar. The digital literacy index is obtained from the average score of all pillars. The digital literacy index result is 3.14 which is higher than the West Java digital literacy index of 2.78. In addition, pillar 2 Digital Ethic has the lowest score among the four pillars so that the next program is expected to aim to increase this score.

Abstract

The Government-to-Government (G2G) program significantly increases the number of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Korea. As a developed country, South Korea is committed to protecting all workers in its territory, including migrant workers from Indonesia. However, the employment social security of the South Korean government is not fully able to cover the risks and needs of PMI. Protecting migrant workers' rights to social security is important. It is also the responsibility of the Indonesian government through BPJS Employment, not only to ensure equal treatment in social security for migrant workers but also to expand social security coverage for populations that are currently unprotected. Therefore, it is important for employment social security administrators to increase the probability of migrant workers becoming BPJS Employment participants. Using the logistic regression method and Sakernas data for August 2021, it was found that migrant workers who work in the formal sector, with work contracts, and have BPJS Health membership have a higher tendency to become Employment Social Security participants.

Abstract

Silk fabric is still one of the exclusive fabrics sought after, especially by women. However, at the end of this decade, silk fabric production decreased. The decreasing availability of silk fabric raw materials influences the decline in silk fabric production. The availability of raw materials for silk fabric cannot be separated from the number of silkworms (Bombyx mori L.) cultivated as a cocoon producer which is later spun into silk yarn.  Gunung Sewu is a silkworm cultivation group based in Rongkop District, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta, which has successfully conditioned silkworms to consume rubber cassava leaves as their main feed. Currently, sales of cultivation products are still in the form of ready-spun cocoons and fried ungkrung (inside of cocoons). The silk fabric factory is also willing to buy cocoons that have been spun into silk thread at a higher price. However, the Gunung Sewu group does not yet own a spinning wheel, so it cannot carry out the spinning process independently. On the other hand, derivative products in the form of ungkrung are still processed by frying. Even though there are still many foods that can be developed from silkworm ungkrung processed ingredients. In this community empowerment program, Gunung Sewu group capacity-building activities were carried out by applying spinning machines and identifying the content of ungkrung. The results obtained from the spinning machine application activity were that the turnover of the Gunung Sewu silkworm cultivation group increased by 200%. While the activity of identifying the content of ungkrung showed a significant increase in the knowledge of group members.

Abstract

Community service focused on product creation and development, exceptionally functional leather craft products such as shoes, wallets, and bags, holds great promise. Integrating eco-print motif creation within these leather crafts is strategically significant. It enhances the production of these crafts and contributes positively to the economy of Faro Leather Craft artisans in the Bumirejo Mungkid Magelang foster village. One of the main challenges the artisans face is the lack of potential for creating new, varied, and dynamic motifs, especially considering their beginner level of expertise in leather craft creation. Therefore, there is a need for innovations that are easy to implement. The solution proposed through this community service involves mass production of leather crafts using eco-print techniques, thereby increasing production. This approach also involves applying and utilizing science and technology for the benefit of Magelang village, positioning it as a foster partner of Unnes. It aims to provide new insights into creating motifs with environmentally friendly innovative tools. Additionally, this innovation is targeted at artisans, including the younger generation, to foster a love for batik while focusing on the regeneration and development of batik in the Bumirejo Mungkid Magelang village. To achieve these goals, the community service project involves creating eco prints on leather craft products for use by artisans, artists, and new entrepreneurs. The initiative includes both new and existing artisans interested in participating as tenants. The project activities encompass execution, material exploration, form experimentation, and motif understanding. This includes the creation and motif development process using eco-print techniques, data analysis, motif creation, copyright registration, and report compilation. The outputs of this community service include products from training sessions, scientific articles, copyrights, and reports. Additional outputs involve consumer feasibility testing, exhibitions, and mandatory outputs such as scientific articles, highlight videos, copyrights, and reports.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is one source of livelihood for the Indonesian population. One of the important sub-sectors is plantations, with coffee being one of the leading commodities. Trends in changing people's lifestyles have resulted in the rapid development of the coffee industry in Indonesia. However, this is not directly proportional to the welfare of farmers in the field, because farmers have minimal knowledge regarding good and correct coffee cultivation techniques so that the quantity and quality of coffee produced is low. This service was carried out using the PALS approach involving coffee farmers who are members of the Palito farmer group in Situjuah Gadang Nagari, Situjuah Limo Nagari District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra. This service is carried out with the aim of increasing farmers' knowledge and technical skills regarding good and correct coffee cultivation so that they can increase the quantity and quality of coffee produced, as well as increasing the income and welfare of coffee farmers.
