Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the relationship between students' mental health in family conflict and bullying behavior among students, especially among male students in middle school. The research method used was quantitative with research subjects totaling 76 students who had bullying tendencies from a population of 450 people. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire instrument to measure the stages of bullying behavior and investigation of family conflict violence with a Likert scale of 1-5. Descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis techniques (Pearson correlation test) were used to analyze the data. As a result, it was found that the level of bullying among male students tends to be low (2.52) and there is a significant relationship between family conflict and stages of bullying. Conflict between parents and students is the most frequent conflict, while conflict between siblings tends to be minimal. Family conflict factors need serious attention in designing intervention programs to prevent students' mental disorders through the phenomenon of bullying at school. Conclusion: This research emphasizes the importance of paying attention to family dynamics in understanding and overcoming bullying behavior in the educational environment. Identifying the relationship between family conflict and bullying tendencies can provide a basis for the development of appropriate interventions to create safe and supportive school environments for all students. Keywords: student treatment, exit conflict, student bullying tendencies, mental health.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202427

Abstract

Abstract: Fostering Food Sustainability: Enhancing Awareness Of Local Food Consumption Among Secondary School Students. Background and Objective: This study aims to explore the awareness of secondary school students regarding local food consumption, particularly in Serang City, Indonesia, through indicators of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior. Method: Involving 325 students, the research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design. Findings: The findings revealed that 70.2% of students demonstrated a good understanding of local food sustainability; however, only 61.4% showed positive attitudes, and 54.8% exhibited behavior aligned with local food consumption in daily life. Pearson correlation analysis indicated a significant but weak relationship between students’ knowledge and attitudes (r=0.112; p<0.05), while the relationships between knowledge and behavior, as well as attitudes and behavior, were not statistically significant. These inconsistencies suggest that increasing knowledge does not automatically lead to positive attitude and behavior changes. Therefore, a more integrated approach to food sustainability education is required, including the incorporation of sustainability themes into school curricula, project-based learning, and policies to control the availability of unhealthy processed foods on school campuses. These strategies align with achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). Conklusion: In conclusion, while students demonstrate a good theoretical understanding, more effective interventions are needed to encourage the adoption of attitudes and behaviors that support sustainable and healthy local food consumption. This study recommends collaboration among the government, educational institutions, and communities to create a generation more conscious of food sustainability. Keywords: education, food sustainability, local food consumption, SDGs.

Abstract

Abstract: Using the UTAUT Model to Understand the Behavioral Intention to Use Mendeley Among Undergraduate Students of the Second Semester: Mixed Research Method. Objective: This study aims to uncover the factors that influence behavioral intention to use Mendeley among second-semester students at Tanjungpura University using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). Furthermore, this study deepens the findings of the UTAUT factors with qualitative research. Methods: This study utilised a mixed research method: quantitative-qualitative. Sixty students using the Mendeley application who were studying in the second semester at the Faculty of Engineering, Tanjungpura University, in 2023 became respondents in this study. Quantitatively, data were collected through a survey with the help of Google Form which was then analysed using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) statistical testing method. Qualitatively, this study utilised open-ended interviews with selected students to explain the findings of the quantitative research. Findings: Based on SEM analysis, the factor that has a high influence on Behavioural Intention (BI) is Social Influence (SI) followed by Performance Expectancy (PE), and finally Effort Expectancy (EE). These findings are confirmed in qualitative research which reveals that the biggest influence of Mendeley adoption is environmental influence, namely encouragement from lecturers and from peers and the influence of the performance of the Mendeley application which helps citation and bibliography. Conclusion: This study concludes that students responded positively to the Mendeley application, perceived it as an application that can help write academic texts, easy to learn, and recognized that the factors of support from lecturers and peer influence as the main factors of the reasons for adoption. The low EE factor was caused by several usage problems experienced by students when connecting Mendeley and Microsoft Word which often caused errors. Keywords: RMS, mendeley, behavioral intention, UTAUT, mixed method.DOI: http://doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202441
