Abstract

Human motion has multifarious meanings that can be recognized using a facial detection machine. This article aims to explore body motion recognition to explain the relationship between students’ motions and their achievement, as well as teachers’ responses to students’ motions, and especially to negative ones. Students’ motions can be identified according to three categories; facial expression, hand gestures, and body position and movement. Facial expression covers four categories, namely, contempt, fear, happiness, and sadness. Contempt is used to express conflicted feelings, fear to express unpleasantness, happiness to express satisfaction, and sadness to express that the environment is uncomfortable. Hand gestures can likewise be grouped into four categories: conversational gestures, controlling gestures, manipulative gestures, and communicative gestures. Conversational gestures refer to communicative gestures. Controlling gestures refer to vision-based interface communications, like the ones popular in current technology. Manipulative gestures refer to ones used in human interaction with virtual objects. Communicative gestures relate to human interaction, and therefore involve the field of psychology. Body position and movement also can be classified into four categories, namely: leaning forward, leaning backward, correct posture, and physical relocation. Leaning forward happens when a user is working with a high level of concentration. Leaning backward occurs when a user has been highly concentrated on work for several hours, and needs a break or change. Correct posture is the sign of an enjoyable working position which involves sitting in a free and relaxed manner. Movement refers to a change to the student’s sitting location, reflecting some inadequacy of the learning environment. Teachers can anticipate changes of students’ emotions by good learning design, teaching metacognitive skills, self-regulated performance, exploratory talks, mastery approach/avoidance, using hybrid learning environments, and controlling space within classrooms. Teachers’ responses to students’ motions will be explored in this article

Abstract

Teachers at vocational schools are facilitators in implementing an effective learning process. The learning process is inextricably linked to the media, methods and learning outcomes. In this case, the media play an important role. As we know, online learning platforms are very diverse, but not all of these platforms can be used effectively to create meaningful, interesting and interactive learning in office administration. The objectives of Training to Improve Teacher Skills in Conducting Information Technology Based Learning and Communication in Vocational Schools are 1) Improve Teacher Skills in Development of Innovative Learning Models 2) Improve Teacher Skills in Development of Learning Management System (LMS) to become Professional and Competent Teachers who design learning media and implement them in learning activities. 3) Improving teachers' communication skills in learning through live virtual meetings and live chat through Whatsapp desktop application in vocational schools. The results of the training were: 1) Increasing the ability of teachers to develop innovative learning models by 80%, 2) Increasing the ability to develop a Znaplink-based Learning Management System (LMS) by 86%, and 3) The Improving the ability of teachers to communicate while learning through live virtual meetings and live chats with Whatsapp desktop application has reached 88%.

Abstract

Computational thinking skills (CTS) play a crucial role across diverse domains, involving a thinking process that allows the execution of solutions by information processing agents. Measuring the level of CTS becomes essential to ensure that administrators effectively leverage technology. However, finding suitable instruments to measure and justify CTS levels in administration can be challenging. The selection of situational judgement test (SJT) is supported by its validity and reliability in assessing attributes, including professionalism. The instrument’s development includes face validity, discriminant validity (using Pearson correlation and Cronbach’s alpha), and exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The study involved 111 undergraduate administration students from various Indonesian universities, and data were collected in 2023. Following a discriminant validity analysis, ten items were eliminated, while 23 met the criteria with p0.185. Subsequently, EFA yielded 16 items forming seven components, covering algorithmic thinking, problem-solving, technology literacy, problem abstraction, problem reformulation, data management in administration technology, and administrative data presentation with loading factor variations (0.421-0.868). The final instrument, consisting of 16 valid items and seven components, effectively evaluates the level of administrator computational thinking skills (ACTS) among administration students.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: 1) the effect of teacher-student interpersonal relationship on learning motivation, 2) the effect of school environment on learning motivation and 3) the effect of teacher-student interpersonal relationship and school environment on student learning motivation at SMK Negeri 1 Banyudono. This research is quantitative research with a correlational method. The subject of this research is students of SMK Negeri 1 Banyudono. The sampling technique used on this research is stratified random sampling. Data collection technique using a questionnaire. The instrument validation technique used on this research is validity test and reliability test. Data analysis includes classical assumption tests, such as normality tests, linearity tests and multicollinearity tests and there are hypothesis tests such as t-test, F-test, coefficient of determination, multiple regression analysis, effective contribution and relative contribution. The results of this research are: First, that there is a positive and significant influence of the teacher-student interpersonal relationship variable on student learning motivation at SMK Negeri 1 Banyudoni. This is evidenced by the value of Tvalue > Ttable 6.67 > 1.98 and a significance value of <0.05. So H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Second, it was found that there was no significant influence of school environmental variables on student learning motivation at SMK Negeri 1 Banyudono but the results still showed in a positive direction. This is proven by the significance value of the school environment of > 0.05 and the T value of 0.56 < T table of 1.98 so that H0 is accepted and H2 is rejected. Third, there is a positive and significant influence of teacher-student interpersonal relationship variables and the school environment together on student learning motivation at SMK Negeri 1 Banyudono. This is evidenced by the results of the F test with a F value of 34.75 > 3.09 F table with a significance level <0.05. So H0 is rejected and H3 is accepted. The results of multiple linear regression analysis show a coefficient of determination value of 0.438, where teacher-student interpersonal relationships and the school environment together influence student learning motivation by 43.8%. While the remaining 56.2% is influenced by other factors. Teachers should be active in participating in communication competency training in order to improve teacher-student interpersonal relationships and teachers pay more attention to all students.
