Abstract

The roadway, as a shared public space, requires all users to develop awareness, tolerance, and adherence to traffic regulations. The response of online motorcycle taxi drivers to the stop tot tot wuk wuk movement represents a form of articulated tolerance awareness in road interactions, particularly within the socio-traffic context of Surabaya City. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and non-participant observations. The analysis process utilized the Miles and Huberman model, while data validity was ensured through technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the stop tot tot wuk wuk movement is perceived by drivers as a critique of the improper use of sirens, which often generates psychological pressure, discomfort, and unequal relations among road users. Although online motorcycle taxi drivers frequently choose to yield for the sake of safety and traffic flow, they also experience ethical imbalance in the use of public road space. This phenomenon illustrates that tolerance on the road has not yet matured as a shared moral consciousness. Thus, the movement serves not only as an expression of social critique but also as a reflective moment to strengthen the values of tolerance and traffic ethics.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of Qur'anic hermeneutics (Fazlur Rahman, Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, Abdullah Saeed) in thematic interpretation to address the contemporary issue of mental health in the digital era. This qualitative research aims to provide a systematic explanation of the obtained facts. The collected data is library-based (Library Research), involving a critical and in-depth study of relevant literature from both primary sources (the Qur'an, exegesis books) and secondary sources (books, journals, articles, websites). The research analyzes verses about tranquility, patience, prayer, and supplication. The results indicate that the universal principles in these verses can be contextualized to build mental resilience against challenges like social comparison, FOMO, and cyberbullying in digital spaces. Using Fazlur Rahman's double movement, it is concluded that internal sources of calm are crucial and that validation should shift from external to internal (God). Through Abu Zayd's humanistic hermeneutics, these verses form a critical-progressive framework for mental health. Abdullah Saeed's contextual approach allows reading them as a value foundation for a healthy relationship with technology, offering a spiritual-psychological framework to build digital resilience, inner validation, and sacred pause. A comparison of the three scholars' hermeneutical applications shows complementary conclusions about building a psychological anchor, critiquing digital culture, and shifting the source of self-worth.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the factors influencing a Grade X student’s difficulties in peer relationships and to examine the effectiveness of individual counseling and group counseling interventions in addressing these issues. Using a qualitative case study design, the research involved one primary student participant, supported by classmates and a school counselor as additional informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña’s analytical model. The findings reveal that the student’s social challenges stem from an interplay of internal factors such as withdrawal tendencies and low self-confidence and external factors related to negative peer perceptions and group dynamics. The individual counseling sessions facilitated self-awareness and improvement in basic communication skills, while group counseling provided emotional support and opportunities for social learning through direct peer interaction. Both interventions proved effective in enhancing the student’s social adjustment and preventing maladaptive coping strategies, such as the desire to transfer to another class. These findings underscore the importance of integrated school counseling approaches in helping students overcome social relationship barriers

Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia’s sustainable development towards the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision faces global challenges, primarily the climate crisis and digital ethical dilemmas. This research aims to analyze how Ecotheology and Religious Ethics serve as moral and practical foundations for integrating environmental issues and community welfare into the SDGs agenda (Suryadi, 2021, p. 50). The paper employs a qualitative literature review methodology using normative-theological and sociological approaches, referencing scientific literature, Kemenag policy documents, and case study reports on implementation models within religious educational institutions (Kemenag, 2023, p. 7).The findings indicate that religious educational institutions play a crucial role as dual change agents. First, through the implementation of Ecotheology (the concept of khalifah), these institutions effectively instill conservation awareness and mitigate climate risk (Lestari & Putra, 2022, p. 80). Second, by developing Value-Based Community Economy models (e.g., digital waste banks and agribusiness), they contribute to creating decent employment and value-driven economic growth (Amin, 2025, p. 50; BAZNAS, 2024, p. 15). It is concluded that the internalization of Ecotheological values is key to producing human resources with a holistic development ethic. The paper recommends stronger policy synergy (a Tripartite Model) to position religious institutions as centers for social-economic innovation focused on sustainability.

Abstract

Modern economic development is no longer understood solely as economic growth but as a multidimensional process encompassing improvements in welfare, distributive justice, human development, and sustainability. Islam, as a value-based system, offers a strong normative framework for development, particularly through the principles of maqasid al-shari‘ah, distributive justice, the prohibition of usury (riba), the obligation of zakat, and the reinforcement of ethical economic conduct. This study examines the relationship between religion and modern economic development using a qualitative-comparative approach between Islamic teachings and contemporary development concepts such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Human Development Index (HDI), Good Governance, and Inclusive Growth. The findings indicate that Islam demonstrates structural compatibility with modern development paradigms, especially in poverty alleviation, social justice, economic governance, and social capital enhancement. Islam functions not only as a moral guide but also provides concrete economic instruments such as zakat, productive waqf, Islamic finance, Islamic social finance, and halal digital economic models. Thus, religion plays a strategic role in building a more inclusive, ethical, and sustainable economic order.

Abstract

Abstract

This qualitative research is an exploratory preliminary study aimed at understanding adaptation strategies and social support acceptance among three women with disabilities who actively work in the informal sector in Meulaboh. The geographical conditions of Meulaboh as a coastal region of Aceh present unique challenges in implementing inclusive employment rights guaranteed by the 1945 Constitution and Law No. 8 of 2016. The study employed in-depth interviews and simple observation with three participants who have diverse physical disabilities and work in the informal sector, including sabiki bait tie manufacturing, tailoring, and cake/salted snack production. Thematic analysis identified five interrelated multidimensional adaptation strategies: (1) Work Process Adaptation (tool modification, task division, work method adjustment); (2) Utilization of Social Networks (family, community, customers) as economic infrastructure and emotional support; (3) Building Independence as rejection of charity object status; (4) Resistance Against Stigma through demonstration of work ability, vocal advocacy, and confrontation of systemic discrimination; and (5) Advocating for Equal Opportunity Rights by voicing criticism against discriminatory policies and practices. Participants demonstrated high agency by actively creating inclusive workspaces for themselves, proving that physical limitations do not hinder work productivity. These findings affirm the relevance of the social model of disability, in which the primary barriers stem from inaccessible and non-inclusive environments and systems. Practical implications of the research include the need for more accessible training programs (including transportation provision), support focused on skill development and raw material subsidies for sustained independence, increased transparency in social assistance distribution, and strict enforcement of laws against employment discrimination.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the representation of gender bias in the Sajiku Seasoning Flour Advertisement Series "Strong Mother" (2025) and examine how its visual and narrative construction reinforces women's domestic roles. This advertisement is interesting to study because, despite depicting a strong mother working in the public sphere, she remains the central figure in all household chores. To understand the message conveyed, this study uses a qualitative approach using Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis method, examining the denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings of each scene in the advertisement. The results show that the Sajiku Strong Mother Series advertisement contains several forms of gender bias, including: first, reinforcing the stereotype that housework is a woman's natural responsibility. Second, normalizing the double burden on women, who are portrayed as having to work and care for all family needs without complaint. Third, the absence of a male figure reinforces the notion that domestic matters are not a man's responsibility. Fourth, women's love and self-worth are reduced to their ability to cook and provide household services for their families. Through emotional symbols, narratives, and visuals, this advertisement subtly reproduces patriarchal values and confines women's identities to domestic roles.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how women’s roles in navigating marriage are socially constructed through the dialogue presented in Episode 67 of the Suara Berkelas podcast. The research is motivated by the persistence of social expectations that position women as the primary bearers of domestic responsibilities, emotional labor, and pressure to marry at a certain age. The study seeks to identify how the speaker negotiates, challenges, and reconstructs these expectations through personal experiences and reflections on marital readiness, division of roles, and partner independence. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis, the study applies Berger and Luckmann’s social construction theory along with Simone de Beauvoir’s concept of gender construction. The findings show that the speaker actively articulates a new narrative that positions women as empowered, rational agents with full authority over major life decisions, including marriage. Ideas such as shared household responsibilities, emotional maturity, support for women’s careers, and marrying at a more mature age emerge as alternative constructions that contest patriarchal norms. The study concludes that the podcast serves as a medium for shaping alternative discourses that strengthen women’s position within marriage. This research recommends increased production of media content that centers women’s experiences and supports public education policies promoting gender equality within families and marital decision-making.
