Abstract

The increasing social polarization and ideological challenges in Indonesia demand the strengthening of the character of religious moderation in universities. This study aims to test the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) courses in improving the moderate character of students and identifying factors that support their success. The research design used mixed methods of sequential explanatory type with 48 students of the Management Study Program, State University of Makassar. Quantitative data were collected through a religious moderation scale instrument validated by a pretest–posttest procedure and analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-test. Qualitative data were obtained through observation, focus group discussions, and semi-structured interviews, then analyzed thematically. Quantitative results showed a significant increase in the moderate character of students (Pretest M = 70.15; SD = 7.02; Posttest M = 78.64; SD = 6.35; t = 7.82; p < 0.001). Qualitative data reveal that authentic projects, collaborative learning, reflective discussions, and lecturer facilitation play a role in internalizing the values of tolerance, openness, and anti-radicalism. These findings confirm the effectiveness of PjBL as a pedagogical approach to strengthen religious moderation in higher education. The research recommends the integration of PjBL in institutional policies as well as the study of long-term impacts in various educational contexts.

Abstract

The problem of narcotics, psychotropic, and addictive substances (NAPZA) abuse has a wide negative impact on the physical, psychological, and social aspects of patients. Rehabilitation efforts not only emphasize physical recovery, but also require innovative psychoeducation to support behavioral changes and increased knowledge. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of creative psychoeducation based on games show recovery as an educational medium and cognitive stimulation in the rehabilitation process of NAPZA patients. The method used is a literature study and descriptive analysis of the implementation of the educational game "whoever wakes up quickly" in one of the mental hospitals X. The results of the study indicate that creative psychoeducation based on games show recovery is able to increase patient knowledge about the dangers of NAPZA, strengthen critical thinking skills, and encourage positive social interactions among rehabilitation participants. Thus, creative psychoeducation based on games show recovery "whoever wakes up quickly" for NAPZA rehabilitation patients can be recommended as one of the effective psychoeducation to support the rehabilitation process of NAPZA patients.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in shaping individuals who are able to contribute positively to society. Teachers, particularly in Social Studies (Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial/IPS), have a strategic role in fostering students’ social activity and character development. At MA Al Muslihun Tunggangri Kalidawir Tulungagung, IPS teachers face several challenges, including a dense curriculum, limited facilities, and varying levels of student interest. This study aims to analyze the role of IPS teachers in enhancing the social activity of eleventh-grade students, examine the processes implemented, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors encountered in the learning process. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Observations focused on the IPS learning process and students’ social interactions, while interviews were conducted with teachers and relevant participants to gain deeper insights. Documentation included written and visual records related to students’ social activities and instructional practices. The findings indicate that IPS teachers play a significant role in promoting students’ social activity through participatory, collaborative, and contextual learning methods. Teachers integrate current social issues into classroom discussions and encourage group work, discussions, and social projects to develop values such as cooperation, empathy, responsibility, and critical thinking. Despite challenges such as low student motivation and limited resources, teachers address these issues by utilizing extracurricular activities and adaptive teaching strategies. The study is expected to contribute to educational innovation and serve as a reference for improving effective and socially oriented teaching practices.

Abstract

This study examines educators' cognitive and emotional reactions to curriculum change via a Delphi-based Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with vice principals of senior secondary schools (SLTA level) in Aceh Tengah and Bener Meriah, Indonesia. Despite structural innovations in Indonesia's curriculum reform, including the Merdeka Curriculum and the Deep Learning method, implementation gaps remain at the school level. This study seeks to delineate how educators cognitively comprehend curriculum modifications and emotionally respond to their requirements, and how these reactions affect their commitment to implementation. Data were gathered through organized group discussions and reflective responses in a Delphi panel session, employing a qualitative descriptive methodology. The findings indicate two predominant cognitive orientations: (1) progressive acceptance, perceiving reform as essential and forward-looking, and (2) interpretative ambiguity, signifying challenges in implementing policy within classroom settings. Teachers exhibited a range of emotions, from optimism and a sense of professional vocation to exhaustion, administrative overload, and resistance stemming from established attitudes. The shift from compliance to commitment was significantly shaped by educators' fundamental values, introspective abilities, collaborative environment, and perceived institutional backing. The study presents a belief-centered transformation paradigm that incorporates cognitive clarity, emotional resilience, and professional learning communities as strategic mechanisms for enduring curriculum improvement. These findings enhance the discussion of teacher beliefs as a vital aspect of educational development in emerging areas.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence technology in education has driven changes in student learning patterns, particularly in accessing and processing information. In vocational high schools, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly common to assist with task completion and reference searches. However, its effectiveness is greatly influenced by students' level of digital literacy so that the technology can be used critically, selectively, and responsibly. This study aims to analyze the effect of AI use on students' critical thinking skills with digital literacy as a mediating variable. The approach used is quantitative with a survey method. The research population includes all 819 students of SMK Negeri 45 Jakarta, while the accessible population focuses on 216 students with expertise in Office Management. A sample of 135 respondents was determined using probability sampling with proportionate random sampling based on grade level. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) through the SmartPLS 4.0 application, which included testing the measurement model, structural model, and hypothesis testing to see the direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results showed that the use of AI had a positive and significant effect on critical thinking skills. Digital literacy also has a positive influence on critical thinking and is positively related to AI use. In addition, digital literacy has been shown to mediate the relationship between AI use and critical thinking skills. These findings imply that optimizing the use of AI in learning needs to be accompanied by strengthening digital literacy in order to improve the quality of students' critical thinking skills more effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

Long-Distance Marriage (LDM) refers to a marital arrangement in which spouses experience extended physical separation due to occupational, educational, or other social obligations. Such circumstances frequently generate psychological pressures, especially for women who often carry primary responsibilities in managing household duties and caring for children independently. These challenges may trigger feelings of loneliness, stress, emotional instability, and decreased well-being. One spiritual approach considered effective in supporting emotional balance is the practice of tazkiyatun nafs, a process of inner purification and spiritual refinement. This study aims to explore the role of tazkiyatun nafs in strengthening emotion regulation among women engaged in LDM relationships. Employing a qualitative phenomenological design, data were obtained through in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings demonstrate that the stages of takhalli, tahalli, and tajalli significantly enhance self-awareness, reduce negative emotional reactions, and cultivate lasting inner peace, thereby reinforcing psychological resilience in long-distance marital contexts.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a prima service textbook based on the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) model to empower students' critical thinking skills. The research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research instruments consist of needs analysis, validation sheets of material experts, design experts, and linguists, student response questionnaires, and pretest and posttest tests to measure critical thinking skills. The results of the study show that the SSCS-based excellent service textbook was declared suitable for use based on the results of the validation of experts with the excellent category. The results of the limited trial also showed a positive response from students and an increase in critical thinking skills after using textbooks. This textbook is designed systematically by containing problem-solving-based learning activities that encourage students to actively seek information, analyze problems, develop creative solutions, and share the results of their thoughts. Thus, SSCS-based textbooks are effectively used as a learning resource that is able to integrate theory and practice and support student-centered learning and is oriented towards the development of high-level thinking skills.

Abstract

Logical thinking is a fundamental competence for prospective teachers, as it supports systematic reasoning and professional decision-making. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between academic communication and emotional regulation with the logical thinking skills of students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Satya Wiyata Mandala, Nabire, Papua Tengah. A quantitative correlational design was employed with 100 students selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using an academic communication questionnaire, an emotional regulation scale, and a logical reasoning test, and analyzed through Pearson correlation and multiple regression. The findings indicate that both academic communication and emotional regulation have positive and significant relationships with logical thinking skills, both partially and simultaneously. These results emphasize that logical thinking development in higher education requires the integration of cognitive, interpersonal, and emotional competencies.

Abstract

The Hombo Batu attraction is a cultural tradition of the Nias people that is still preserved to this day, especially in Bawamataluo Village. This tradition not only serves as a cultural heritage and a symbol of maturity for Nias men, but has also developed into a cultural tourism attraction that has economic value for the local community. This study aims to analyze the existence of the Hombo Batu attraction as a cultural tradition and its role in increasing tourist visits to Bawamataluo Village. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research informants included traditional leaders, Hombo Batu attraction actors, village tourism managers, and tourists. The results of the study indicate that the existence of the Hombo Batu attraction is still maintained through the inheritance of cultural values from generation to generation and support from the local community. In addition, Hombo Batu has proven to be a major attraction that is able to increase interest in domestic and international tourists. However, the management of this attraction still faces several obstacles, such as limited promotion and tourism support facilities. This study concludes that the Hombo Batu attraction plays a strategic role in the development of cultural tourism in Bawamataluo Village and needs to be supported by sustainable management to maintain its cultural value and economic benefits.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the feasibility of the content of local content descriptive texts in the book Jelajah Desa Wisata Anugerah Indonesia as reading material for junior high school students. The content feasibility criteria refer to BSKAP (2022) regarding the content feasibility criteria for local content textbooks. There are four criteria used in this study, including (1) scientific truth; (2) conformity with established local content documents;  (3) conformity with developments in science and technology; and (4) conformity with the context and environment. Theoretically, this study uses a content feasibility approach and methodologically uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The data used in this study are 19 local content descriptive texts sourced from the book Jelajah Desa Wisata Anugerah Indonesia from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf). From these data, the researcher conducted data analysis using the matching method. The data collection technique used was reading and note-taking. Data presentation was carried out using formal and informal presentation methods. Then, in the second, third, and fourth criteria, 19 texts were in accordance, and there were no incompatible texts. The benefits of this study are to enrich the study of the eligibility of the content of local-containing descriptive texts in reading learning in junior high schools, as a reference for determining and developing reading materials for local-containing descriptive texts, and to contribute to efforts to preserve local wisdom through the use of the book Jelajah Desa Wisata Anugerah Indonesia as a source of literacy.
